Awakening

Eli opened his eyes aboard Destiny and sighed as the physical exhaustion slammed him. He knew almkst immediately that Zalenka had been awake for a long time, and saw that an alarm was set for 6 hours from than. He fell asleep as Zalenka had been when the stones were turned off. He woke up with a start when the alarm went off, and groaned as he got up knowing he needed to work fast. He ran to the stasis chambers and the first one he came to was Colonel Young. He activated the wakeup sequence and ran to Rush's chamber and wike him. Chloe was further down, and as he activated hers Colonel Youmg add Rush both stepped out. "Wow that seemed like it was a short nap." Colonel Youmg said as he looked at Rush and saw the suspicipus activity as Eli came walking back with Chloe. "It was Colonel, it has only been a few days since you were put in. It's a long story that you will have plenty of time to hear, suffice it to say Plan A is out the window. By order of General O'Neill I am assuming command of the repair mission. In a few hours Chloe and Colonel Young will be using the communication stones back to Earth. 2 engineers will be connecting to assist Rush and I with repairs. We have a lot of work and only a few hours to get started. Chloe, I need you to go to the bridge and determine the best location for Atlantis to Wormhole within scanning range. Once on Earth you will assist Dr. McKay with the calculations." Eli told them quickly as he began walking to the aeroponics bay. "What happened Eli?" Rush asked. "An overload in Stellar Plasma Storage forced us from FTL, and has caused some extensive damage. Because of the successive damage the shields are too weak to reenter FTL, and we do not have the power anymore even if we could. Fortunately we have an idea on what to do, and rescue planning is underway." he replied as they entered aeroponics and he grabbed the control tablet. Eli reviewed what Zalenka had done, and was impressed with his recommendations. Zalenka had sorted nearly 50 of the Ancient storage totes and had the panels deployed to easily conduct the repairs. He had even figured out how to transfer the atmosphere so they would be able to creaye airlocks and work in the suits. It would take a few days just to get to Engineering this way, but it would have the added benefit of reducing the shield strain. "Where are we?" Rush asked looking around for a control panel. "Fortunately the middle of nowhere in terms of the galaxy. The nearest star is 75 lightyears away, and there are no Stargates in range." Eli reported as he looked and Colonel Young amd Dr. Rush. "I do not know much in the terms of details, but Atlantis and 5 ships will be here within 60 days to mount a rescue of the ship. We need to repair what we can so we can survive combat to recharge. We will fortunately have backup for it, and hope some of the drones will clear out when Atlantis uses its wormhole drive at the edge of the galaxy. After they arrive they will engage their hyperdrive and come to our location." he told them both. Colonel Young nodded, and knew his skills would be next to useless in the situation. "How long before I use the stones?" he asked. "5 hours, we have 3 suits and Zalenka has deployed rhe repair materials to the corridors for Engineering, care to help?" Eli asked. 4 hours later they all walked to the bridge, and Chloe was sitting studying the navigation charts of the ship. She looked up as they walked in, having repaired several breeches and making another corridor acessible. "This will be tricky, what type of drive are they using?" she asked. "I am told its a wormhole similar to gate travel, so wormhole drive." Eli said shocking her. "I assure you will be helpful there, probably teach them a thing or two. Even if you can't, we need the help of the engineer who will be swapping with you." he assured her. Chloe nodded as Eli motioned them to follow him, and they all returned to the aeroponics bay where the communication stones were. Chloe and Young both grabbed one at the appropriate time and placed them on the pad. As soon as the connection was made Eli looked at the two of them. "I am Zalenka, this is Dr. Franklin. She specializes in weapons systems and will be focusimg her attention there. I understand we have 3 space suits?" Zalenka asked getting right to business. "We do, and in fact we have repaired the first portion of the corridor. We were getting ready to take sort through more of the containers and store the supplies, and make a Keno sled so we can transport them easier." Eli said as they walked out to the storage areas. They worked quickly and it wasn't long before they approached the last few boxes. They had found different supplies for the crew that should have come from medical supplies to seeds for food stuffs and oxygen filtration. Eli set some of them aside for planting in the unused portions of aeroponics. Eli opened the last box of his, and was surprised when he found another repair robot. He pulled it out and examined the documentation for it, and was surprised it was for the hull. He pulled the tray out and saw another just like it underneath and pulled it from the crate before he triggered the mechanism amd stacked the panels on the sled. He grabbed the controller and activated the first one. It accessed the scans of the ship, and prompted him to select a repair priority. Eli selected the corridors to Engineering, as well as engineering itself. He watched it scamper off as Rush and Zalenka saw it for the first time. "What was that?" Rush asked as he gripped the lid of the last crate in his section. "Repair bot for the hull. Lets see how effective they are." he said smiling as he activated the second one. He selected the secondary aeroponics bay that had ruptured during their recharge, and theybwatched as it scampered off as well. "Well, if they help even a little it will be worth it." Zalenka said as he opened his last craye as well. They finished loading the panels and pushed them to their newest aitlock where the suits had been left recharging. They collected the rest of the panels they jadnt used before they donned their suits and vacated the air from their airlock. None of them realized it was venting tje compartment next to it as well as the shield strength had increased a bit. The door light finally turned green and opened easily after they activated it. They walked through and were surprised that the damage here was less extensive than believed. Zalenka, Rush and Eli placed a few panels each as they got to the next corridor that had a yellow light on the door. Eli activated their atmosphere transfer and waited for the light to change as it was transferred via life support to scrub any harmful particles from it. 6 hours later they had exhausted their current supply of repair panels, and had repaired all the corridors leading to the Engineering Compartment. They were all exhausted however, and it would take the suits atleast 6 hours to recharge anyway. Eli grabbed the control tablet and made sjde that the ship was registerimg this area sealed as well. It took several minutes for the diagnostic come back that it was indeed sealed between them and their airlock, and Eli triggered it tonpressurize the area while also drawing the atmosphere that was left in Engineering. As soon as it was pressurized, Eli took his suit off before hooking it to a power station to recharge its systems. Rush and Zalenka followed suit quickly while Eli began pushing the Keno sled back to the storage area for use after they rested. Eli grabbed some of the MREs that had been found, and handed each of them one as they gathered in aeroponics. All four of them were there, and Eli began looking at the power consumption. Shield strength had increased to nearly 12 percent, but the FTL was still off line. Diagnostics showed that it wasn't able to draw power from the stellar plasma. He groaned as he knew it would be several more days before they sealed the breach in plasma storage to even assess what repairs were needed. He ate while he looked through the data, and was glad that the ship was seeming to do better the more repairs were completed. "It seems as if there is something repairing the systems, what do you know of it Eli?" Dr. Franklin asked. "There are bots repairing shield, weapons and life support. As well as the hull bots and the plasma system robot, so hopefully theybare performing some tasks to make it easier to repair those systems." Eli replied as he grabbed the MRE and opened it. All of them nodded as he explained what was happening with the repairs. They all ate before they settled down for the night and slept.
