For the last fifteen minutes, they have been in the same spot in the middle of town. Maybe this is a good thing, that I won't have to chase after them. I head straight to the location on the small beacon and see their car.
Tucker sits in front but he doesn't see me appear. His mind seems to be far away and the moment I knock on the window, he jumps in surprise.
"Goddamn, you scared the fur out of me!" he exclaims and then chuckles.
"Technically you have no fur to begin with right now," I respond dismissively. "Where is Roman?"
"Roman?" he repeats and blinks severally taking his time. I'm sure he is cooking a lie and I narrow my gaze waiting to here what he is going to say. "I don't know where he is," he shakes his head slowly and sucks in air. "Isn't he at school?"
