Chapter 18 Ava Ava let her tears continue to flow through the night. At some point she fell asleep. When her alarm rang the next morning, she dragged herself out of bed. She stared at herself in the mirror for a while as she wiped the sleep from her eyes. Ava dug in her makeup drawer searching for some gel she thought she had to help with puffy eyes. She knew the odds of it helping much were slim, but it was worth a try. With a deep breath, she decided to get ready for the day. Her oven was waiting for her. She would lose herself in her kitchen until the pain died down. She breezed through her closet and grabbed whatever she saw first, not caring what she looked like.
