CHAPTER 11 Black Butterfly "Is it true that Leo and Leila are the only persons who know that number?" Drake asked with an eyebrow raised. His wolf is pacing back and forth with jealousy in hearing it.  "Yes, cause that number is what I used to have during my university days. That is also filled with crazy stuff research. Somehow I don't use that phone anymore which is why I'm giving it to Gerald." She smiled as she can sense the brewing jealousy with her mate. "With the number I gave you. It is only you who is listed there. Other people can only reach me via email which I rarely answer if I'm not in the mood." She chuckled then looked down on the document she is holding to read it. She pulled out a notebook and a set of pens, markers, and sticky notes. She suddenly looked up and saw that Drake is in front of her desk. "Hmm, do you mind providing me a small whiteboard?" She asked him. Drake just nodded at her and instructed Gerald to do her request. Minutes later Gerald is back and set up the whiteboard on the wall behind her seat. She and Drake continued to work on what needs to be worked on only stopping to eat for lunch then they are back in the office to continue what they were doing. At 5 PM they both stopped working on their desks. Janine let out a yawn and stretched her arms upward. Drake, on the other hand, stood up and bent his neck side to side then walked towards his Luna.  "Anything you need to ask me about those documents?" Drake asked when he stoops down to kiss Janine on her head.  "Nah, you answered most of my questions earlier. So I guess I'm done about business for today." She said while letting out another yawn.  "Would you like to have dinner now so we can turn in for the night early?" He queried.  She slowly stood up and embraced Drake. She buried her face on his chest. "Yes let's do that." Her voice muffled on his chest which made a ticklish sensation on him. He chuckled at her. "My poor little witch seems to be too tired." He grinned. "Don't worry I won't tire you tonight."  Janine looked up to see his demeanor and blushed with the thoughts of what had occurred last night and early in the morning. Then she got hooked with looking into his eyes. She sees the stars again on those dark horizons. The darkness seems to take her on a spin. She was in a trance-like state. Then a burst of bright light and saw herself standing in front of a woman wearing a black butterfly mask, who's arm is hooked under Drake's. Drake doesn't seem to mind who he is with, in fact, he seems to enjoy the presence of the lady beside him. A  rush of mixed emotions was felt. She tried to regain her consciousness by tapping into her ability to guard herself. She commanded herself to get back to her place beside Drake. Then her eyes got teary and she is already being shaken by Drake.  "Janine, what happened?" He asked worriedly. He saw earlier how the light in her eyes slowly faded and he started calling her name with a loud voice. Thinking that  she just lost her consciousness, but her eyes are widely open. Seeing that it was of no use calling her name, he started to shake her shoulders. Her eyes were still lifeless and he continued to shake her shoulders and called her name. Then Gerald came rushing to the office. When Gerald opened the door, he saw that his Alpha is in a panic shaking their Luna's shoulder and shouting her name. Drake had been shouting her name for almost three minutes  when he saw that tears started to form at the sides of her eyes and the glimmers on her eyes came back slowly.  "I -- I'm sorry Drake." She said and the tears just suddenly fell to her cheeks. "I just had a vision of a large black butterfly." She continued trying to hide what she saw in her vision. He felt that somehow she is trying to block some emotions. She then smiled like nothing has happened and turn to Gerald. "Uhh Gerald, were you able to talk to Leila?"  "Yes, Luna. I also told her that you are working hard for the best results your Coven needs." He said with pride. "Thank you." She then turned to Drake. "Shall we go down to eat?" She said and tried to avoid meeting his gaze.  She walked past Drake and went ahead to get out of the office. As she was going down the stairs towards the dining area she saw a portrait of Drake, wearing an old french suit. He looked so magnificent with his square face and sharp looking eyes. Matching the squareness of his shoulders  while seated in a throne-like chair. Just by his feet, a lady is seated wearing a magnanimous revealing dress like a courtesan does, with her hands placed on Drake's legs. She has seductive red lips and white skin. Janine was surprised seeing that the lady is holding the mask she saw on her visions. She was trying to connect with the portrait and gain a memory from it when she heard Drake and Gerald's voice.  "Drake, who is this lady?" She looks up at Drake who is descending the stairs.  "Ah, Cicada. She is an old friend in the East. I can introduce you to her when we get there for business. She can also help us with businesses in the east." He tried to make any eye contact with his Luna but she just turned her face to look back at the hundred-year-old portrait. "Why do you ask my dear?"  "She's pretty, and the mask she is holding is the same color as the butterfly I had in my vision." She said in a plain voice. When Drake reached the bottom of the stairs she went to his side and hook her arm under his. He couldn't seem to feel any pull from his Luna and he knows something is not right. Janine, on the other hand, is trying to calm herself with the bits of information from Drake she had learned about the portrait. As she was able to steady her emotions and calm herself she sensed the confusion, mixed with fear and doubts emanating from Drake. She had been blocking his emotions right after the vision. She slowly let her guard down and look him in the eye.  "I'm sorry, it is quite overwhelming when I'm having those visions. It agitates the senses that I had to block everyone else who is emotionally connected with me. I had to put up my guard so I don't get shattered into pieces and lose my sanity." She explained without waiting for him to ask.  Drake's jaw dropped when he heard from her an explanation without him asking about what's wrong.  "No Drake, I don't read minds nor do I have the same mind linkability you posses. I am like this because I was able to develop the level of frequency needed to tap into other emotions the same way I can tap in other dimensions." She continued to explain. "This development of abilities have a price to pay, and that is your sanity, which is why the first thing to master is learning to guard yourself, guarding yourself includes cutting off others to tap into your emotion. Which I did earlier with you." She said with a calm voice. "I'm sorry my Alpha." She said in an almost teary-eyed.  Drake couldn't take it if she cries cause of this. He immediately sealed her lips with a passionate kiss and emotions of understanding flowed from him. When they ended the kiss she again looks him in the eyes and says, "Thank you for understanding me."
