Brotherly Love

Leo's POV: I rushed to my truck and fired it up. I quickly made my way over to the trailer park that my sister used to live in. The entire drive took about 30 minutes and the entire time I was thinking of my little sister. She was going to be a strong she-wolf. One thing was for sure, she would never be hurt ever again. I loved her with all of my being and would do anything to protect her. Pulling her out of that car was so heartbreaking for me, just seeing all of that blood. I tried my best to keep her from closing her eyes when I ran up to her, but when she did close them it scared me so much. My wolf Cinder was whining and begging me to save her, save our little sister. I am so glad that dad changed her. As I pulled up to a parking spot by the trailer, I saw Percy standing outside waiting for me with a huge pile of things that looked like they belonged to Thalia. Standing next to him was his sister Callie. She was holding the leash of a tan and white pitbull/husky mix dog that was prancing around her like a goofball. I quickly texted dad about the kind of dog that sis had, and we shared a laugh considering I had been begging dad for a pitbull for years. I stepped out of the truck and approached them. "Hey Leo. How's Thalia doing? Dumbass over here won't talk and I just wanna make sure that my best friend is doing OK." Callie said as she and the dog walked up to me. She stops a bit away from me and lets the dog sniff me from afar. "She is all good. She is just waiting at home for this little girl here and missing her something fierce." I replied as I reached out to Freya. Freya sniffed my hand and looked up at my eyes as if she was checking to see if she could trust me. Cinder came forward and looked at her and chuckled. "Hello little one. Your mama misses you and wants you to come home to her. Are you ready to go for a ride?" I asked her, looking only at her as I said that. Behind Callie, I could hear Percy scoff at what I had just said. My eyes darted at him and I scowled. "Callie, go ahead and put Freya in the passenger seat for me. I need to have a quiet word with your brother before I load up the rest of Thalia's things," I scoffed out as I grabbed Percy's arm and dragged him to the backyard. "What is your problem asshole? You brought this upon yourself! You ignored her when she needed you there, and you have the audacity to get upset that she is leaving you! There is more to life than video games and being a mama's boy, jerk. Let her go and just know that she is safe now. Lose her number and find solace in your games like you always do." With that, I left him there with his jaw on the ground. I went back to the front and started loading everything into the back of my truck. Throwing a tarp over all of it and tying it all up so I didn't lose anything, I turned back towards Callie who was still standing there waiting for me to finish. I dug out the two rings that were in my pocket and dropped them into her hand. "I will tell you the same thing that I told your brother just now. Lose Thalia's number and never contact her again. For your safety and hers, leave her be. We will send the papers for the divorce and, just so you know, she doesn't want anything. Have a great life you guys." I turned around and climbed into my truck. I buckled up and checked to make sure that Freya was all good to go. I texted my dad saying that I was on my way home and to make sure that sis was ready for us. I backed up and took off, leaving that jerk in the rearview. It took me 30 minutes to make it back home. The whole time I was driving, Freya was trying her best to cuddle with me. She really was a great dog. I was surprised that she trusted me so easily considering the fact that sis told me that she was very wary of men. Sis had rescued her when she was only 7 months old from a really abusive guy who was homeless. He was drinking on the side of the road and was beating this beautiful pup and my sis stepped up and cold c****d him in the jaw. As he laid on the ground, she told him that she was taking the dog, and he had better forget her because he was never getting her back. Since then, the two have been inseparable and the best of friends. Freya was known for lunging at men that made her uncomfortable and protecting her from anyone who would want to harm her. I pulled up to the house and saw Thalia jumping up and down on the porch. I smiled seeing that goofy smile on her face, knowing that it wasn't just for the dog. As I parked, she ran up to the driver's door and pulled it open. I chuckled at her enthusiasm to get to me. I unbuckled both myself and the dog and climbed out, taking her into my arms. Freya stayed in her seat, which surprised me, because I thought she would have wanted out of the car as soon as possible. Looking at Thalia, I asked her, "How come she isn't jumping out of the truck, little one? I would have thought she would have been all over you." Thalia chuckled and held up a finger and turned to look at Freya. "Freya come." She said with a clear and direct voice. Upon hearing the command, Freya quickly stood up and jumped out of the truck and ran straight to her. She was jumping all over sis and licking her everywhere she could reach. Thalia giggled and played with her for a little bit before she got serious. Looking at Freya and yet again with a clear and direct voice, "Freya. Sit!" The dog sat immediately while looking directly at Thalia. "Freya, down in front." The dog moved underneath sis' legs and laid down. "Good girl. Stay." With that she looked at me with mischief-filled eyes. "I did all of her training myself. She is only 2, so she still has a lot to learn, but she really is a good girl. Thank you so much Leo for saving her for me. I don't know what I would have done if I didn't have her with me. She is my best friend and I love her so much." I took her into my arms and held her tight. "I will always do things like this for you, little one. You are my little sister and I would die to protect you and your heart. That pup of yours is part of your heart and therefore there was no way I could leave her behind. Lia, look at me. I love you little sis and I always got you, OK?" She nodded and hugged me even harder. "I know Leo. Thank you. I love you too. Oh, before I forget, Dad said that after you and Rory are done helping me get everything into my room, he needs you to meet him in the office. Something about picking Ares up from the airport tonight after dinner." Nodding, I looked over at Rory who was standing at the side with his head down, looking as if the dirt was the most interesting thing in the world. "Come on Rory, let's get my little sister settled in so we can have dinner. Also, so I can go get our best friend from the airport so he can see this amazing little sister of mine." We made quick work of Thalia and Freya's things and headed to dinner. After dinner, I left yet again to go get Ares. Something told me that when we got back to the house things were going to be interesting.
