New Wolf

Ares's POV:

I woke up this morning with the feeling that something was different in the world. I sat up on the edge of my bed and held my head in my hands. My wolf is doing some serious zoomies in my head because he can feel the change as well. I stood up and walked over to my balcony door and stood there looking out over the garden that my mother made for me. My name is Ares Kane, and I am the prince of the Northern American werewolf packs. My father is King Ian and my mother is Queen Delia, and they are current king and queen until I find my mate. I am 30 years old and want my mate more than anything. I am 5' 9" and wide in the shoulders from all the training that I have done since I was 13 years old. My long black, almost blue hair hung down to my shoulders and was usually up in a ponytail.

My parents are always nagging me about going to the packs in our kingdom in hopes that my mate is out there. I keep fighting to stay home because both my wolf and I have never felt like she was out there. However, this feeling that we are feeling can only be that our mate is finally found, and we now need to find her. I felt my mother coming to my door and walked over to open it so she didn't try to break it down. I watched amused as she sauntered in and sat on my bed.

"Darling mother, to what do I owe the pleasure of this visit?" I teasingly asked her as she smirked at me and patted the spot next to her on the bed. Knowing my mother's smirks by heart, I knew that she had just had another one of her visions. Like all the queens that came before her and like all that come after her, my mother was gifted with an ability that was perfectly suited to her personality. After she was mated to my father, she found out that she was gifted with visions of the future and let's just say that it really came in handy from time to time. I sat next to her and waited to hear what she had to say.

"Ares, we will need to go to your father's office in a moment, but before we do, is there anyway I can talk you into going to some of the packs to look for your mate? Something tells me that she is around now, and you need to find her." I nodded upon hearing her say that. "Yes mom. I can feel it too and trust me, so can Monger. He has been doing the zoomies in my head all morning. I do believe that it is time to look for her. I just don't know where to start." Mom looked at me with a smile and motioned me to follow her. I quickly grab one of my Dragon Ball Z tank tops and throw it on as I follow her to dad's office. Yes, sue me. I am a huge anime fan and I like to show it to all who will listen. Mom knocked on the door and only entered when we heard dad tell us to come in. Mom sauntered in and went and sat in dad's lap and I took the seat in front of his desk.

"Hello my beautiful mate and handsome son. To what do I owe the pleasure?" Dad jokingly asked as he cuddled mom closer to him. I swear my dad looked like a lovesick pup when it came to my mother. I can only hope that is how I will look at my mate when I have found her. I could see Monger nodding his head and wagging his tail in my mind. We both wanted our mate and can only hope that the Goddess will bless us with a wonderful woman. Loved or broken, we didn't care as long as she was ours.

"Hello darling. I brought our son here because you are about to get a phone call from Johnathan. I believe that after he hears what John has to say he will know where to start his search for his mate." Sure enough, not long after, she said that the phone started to ring as if right on cue. Dad scoffed at mom and put the phone on speaker so we could all hear Uncle John.

"Hey buddy! How's the family? I have you on speaker and Ares and Delia are here with me. Delia actually told me that the goddess told her that you were about to call us. Is everything OK?" Dad asked with a smile on his face. There was a short pause before Uncle John answered.

"Well, Ian, it depends on what you define as OK. So you see there was an accident here in my pack. Before you ask, yes, both Leo and Pearl are fine and unharmed, but I have to admit to breaking a law in order to save a life. You see there was a young human girl that was harmed in a car accident here at the pack and in order to save her I had to change her into one of us. I did, of course, ask her for her permission before doing it, but I didn't have enough time to call you and ask for your permission. My wolf was adamant that she was meant to be one of us and was meant to be our child. I am so sorry Ian...I would have called you, but I had to save her....she was dying and....and......and"

"John, brother, breathe. I understand completely where you were buddy. You are pardoned from breaking the law because you were saving a life. Something tells me that the Goddess knew that you needed this girl in your life. Breath Brother." Dad rushed to say, quickly calming uncle down. "Now tell me, did this young lady survive the change and if so, what is her name so we can add her to the registry?"

"She did indeed survive the change. She is a great young lady. Her name is Thalia," As soon as I heard her name I sucked in a breath and got goosebumps. Just the sound of her name had me wanting to run to the Vaca Valley Pack to see her for myself. Just then, I heard uncle call out and tell someone that they could come into his office.

"Hi daddy! The doctor told mama that I could go home now. Is Leo back yet? I really want to see my little girl. I miss her so much and could use a cuddle from her." The sound of that sweet voice made me hard just to listen to. I inched to the edge of my chair and spoke, "Uncle, is that her? Can she hear us?"

"Oh hello there! Daddy, I didn't know that you were on a phone call. I am so sorry for interrupting you."

"Oh no darling. You are fine. I actually would like for you to say hi. On the phone are Ian, Delia and Ares. They are really good friends of ours and they are also the royal family. I was calling them to tell them about you, and I was going to ask them if they know any human lawyers to handle your divorce for you."

"Oh ok. Ummm well then hello there. I am Thalia and I guess I am the newest member of this pack and family here. Daddy, do you know when Leo will be back?" She stuttered out, and I can only imagine how red her face was. She sounded so cute. "Not yet sweetie, but I will let you know when I do OK? How about you go ask your mama to show you to your room, and we will talk later, OK?"

"OK daddy. Ummm bye everyone."

With that I sighed. I looked at dad and nodded. Knowing exactly what I meant, dad started talking again, "John, I am going to send Ares to you tomorrow so he can help during her first shift. Something tells me that I won't be getting my son back for a little while and that is fine. Also question. What did she mean by her baby girl?"

John laughed and answered, "My daughter has a dog that Leo is currently going to pick up. According to Leo, she is a pitbull/husky mix by the name of Freya, and she is the light of Thalia's life. So Ares, we will see you tomorrow then. Safe travels my boy. I'll have Leo pick you up at the airport." With that, he hung up. I got up and excused myself to pack and get ready. Hang on baby girl. I am coming for you.
