Zak P.O.V "Dr. Bift, I hope you're here with an update. How's Kara? How did the surgery go?" I asked before Ana could start to worry again. Dr. Bift walked over and sat in the chair across from her bed looking at Zak and Ana. He said, "Alpha, Luna. The surgery was successful, we had to take extra care of Kara's wounds. Physically, she will be fine, she just needs proper rest and food." He paused for a minute, then continued, "Luna, this is your sister, you should know her wolf is refusing to come forward. You may be able to help her wolf if she knows her sister is here waiting for her. You can stay here lying down, you just have to reach out to her wolf. 15 minutes a day until she wakes up. I don't want you to stress yourself, Luna". "Dr. Bift when can we see her? I need to touch my sister, I need to lie next to my sister," Ana asked. "They should have her in a room soon. I will make sure someone comes to get you when she's set up. Try not to stress out Luna is not good for you or your pup," he replied to Ana. He spent 25 minutes explaining everything, every big thing to every small thing that happened during surgery. I could feel the pain and worry flowing off Ana. She looked at me, tears brimming her eyes. A knock on the door drew both of our attention. A young nurse popped her head in: "Dr, Alpha, Luna. She is in room nineteen, she is stable, and you can visit whenever," he said before backing out and closing the door. "Kara, I am coming to see you. Don't you worry, once you wake up we can get ice cream and tacos. We are going to spend all the time in the world together," Ana said as she got up and stumbled around as she climbed out of bed. "Um.. love? Where do you think you are going?" I asked while trying to stifle my giggles. " Silly mate, I'm going to see my sister. I need to be close, my wolf is telling me to go. She's practically trying to claw my chest out to get to her," she responded quickly. "Honey, Kara is in safe hands. Please give yourself a minute to prepare for what she looks like again. Do you want me to go in and check on her first? I can look and send you a picture, or I can just come back and get you," I suggested. Ana's P.O.V When I heard Zak's suggestion, I wanted to protest, but I had already done to much of that today… "Okay, I'll wait for you to come get me. I love you, 'My Alpha,'" I said, adding a bit of seduction in the last few words. "Then I'll be right back. I love you too. Don't think I don't know what you're trying to do with that seduction angel, but I will let your protests from earlier slide as long as you behave until we get home," Zak said before he slipped out of the room. As I was lying on the bed in the hospital room, I looked at the walls really taking the room in. I mind liked Trever to come in and once he was in, I looked at him and said, "We need to change the paint in these rooms before the pup gets here." He just looked at me puzzled. "I don't want to be surrounded by plain gray walls when I have the pup, colors help stimulate sight at birth. Plus, the color is depressing," I continued. "You're right Ana, these walls don't really scream 'yay congratulations'. I will get an omega to bring over paint swatches for you to pick the color. If you get the colors chosen by Monday, we can probably have everything done by Friday, "he replied. "That would be perfect, thank you T. Maybe when Kara wakes up we can let her pick a cottage and design it to her liking." I replied. Zak walked back into the room, helped me to my feet, and we walked slowly to Kara's room. As we walked, I filled Zak in on mine and Trevers plans to paint the pack hospital before the pup gets here. When he looked at me with a funny look, I explained what I had to Trever. As we turned the corner to the wing that Kara's room was on, I heard Zak say, "Well, pick the colors and I will help make sure it's done sooner." "You are too good to me, mate. I think we should ask the pack to take a vote," I said. We finally reached her room. Zak squeezed my hand and opened the door. The room smelled like antiseptics and a small hint of blood. Once in the room, I walked to the edge of her bed. I took Kara's hand in my and said, "Please Kara, you have to wake up, you're safe now, your back on our pack land. I need you, sis, I can't do this without you." Two weeks... It has been two weeks since we saved Kara. Two weeks since she's been in the hospital. I visit every day and have lunch in her room, waiting patiently for her to finally wake up. The doctors say she is just mentally drained and needs rest. I just keep trying to get her to wake up. " Kara, you're going to have a nephew, we have a little Alpha on the way. He is going to need you, I am going to need you. You have to wake up. I need my sister to help me pick a name. You still need to find your mate. Please, Kara." I pleaded before I left to find my mate. I struggled to climb the stairs to the third floor. I'm due in five weeks and our pup is weighing in at seven pounds now. As I reached the top of the stairs, Trever came out of the alpha's office and said, "Zak just sent me to get you, he wants to see you in his office." I could hear Zak's irritation when he replied to the person on the phone, "I sent all the evidence to the council, so tell me how is it that White Claw pack is still standing and nothing is being done about the horrible crimes they committed!" I rushed over to him and placed my hands on his shoulders calming his wolf. She remained silent until he slammed the phone down and ended the call. "You wanted to see me baby, is everything okay?" I asked. He looked at me for a few minutes before he answered with a question, "Do you remember when I said you might need to testify to the council?" "Yes," I replied. "Well, it looks like you will have to, they are saying what we gave them isn't enough. We may need you and Kara," he said with a stressed face. "When will we have to be there? What if Kara isn't awake yet?" I asked him. He thought about it for a few minutes before he said, "I will apply for a medical meeting on Kara's behalf. The Council will come here and see her condition and the body CAM footage from the rescue." I stood and walked to the bay window. Looking out at the view, I said, "Fine, what do we need to do?" "First we need to call the council and get them here for the medical meeting. Then we need to get your testimony filmed once the council is here. I don't want you away from the pack house this close to your due date." "Alpha, Kara.. She.. She... Her eyes. They're open." Dr. Bift mind linked me.
