Chapter 22
Rocky
“Officer Nichols?” Rocky called as he knocked on the retired cop’s front door.
Amy had never been able to get in touch with the man so Rocky decided to pay his house another visit. The first couple of times no one had been home. Rocky chalked it up to bad timing. A week had gone by and the man had failed to return any phone calls and was never home. That told Rocky that something was up.
Rocky beat on the door louder. He walked to the edge of the front porch and looked down both sides of the house. The neighbor came out then.
“He hasn’t been home for a while,” the young woman said.
“Do you know where he is? It’s important that I get in touch with him.”
