"What? The super hot guy who helped Ashtine is the person you had a one-night stand with?" Mavi's eyes widened when she heard what Abby revealed to her. She couldn't believe that the person she saw earlier was actually the father of the twins.

Earlier, Abby waited for that man to leave before approaching her twins and Mavi. She was worried that the man might recognize her if he saw her face. Ashtine and the man's eyes were focused on the playhouse, so even though she was in front of them, the two didn't notice her. She quickly turned around before her child noticed her.

Abby asked Ashtine why she suddenly left the playhouse without permission from their guardians. Her child's answer was that she saw her father, so she secretly left the playhouse and followed the man she thought was her father. Who, indeed, was his father.

Abby warned the twins not to go with or follow anyone they don't know. In today's time, many bad people are lurking around, just waiting for their victims.

Ashtine apologized to her and promised not to repeat what he had done. When her twins fell asleep, Abby confessed to Mavi what she had discovered.

"Even though I only remember a brief encounter with him, I will never forget his face, Mavi. I can't be wrong. He is the father of my twins!" Abby told her friend. Even she couldn't believe that her twins had an interaction with their father. Now she believes that it is indeed true that the world is small.

"Even I cannot forget if that's how handsome the man I had a one-night stand with." Mavi teased her friend. "You're lucky to have tasted that hunk."

Abby's eyeballs rolled because instead of worrying, Mavi seemed thrilled by the discovery. While her friend was excited, she felt the opposite. She was worried that the man might find out about his children's existence and take them away from her. That man seemed well-off. She thought about it when she left the luxury hotel he took her to back then.

"Imagine, signing a marriage contract with a man you don't even know while you're not in your right mind—you really won't forget him," Abby said to her friend, shaking her head. "I'm worried he might take the kids away from me once he finds out the truth." She couldn't help but express her concern to her friend.

"Why don't you just seduce that man? With your beauty, I'm sure he'll fall in love with you. You wouldn't need to sign another marriage contract since you already have one. All that's missing is the wedding ceremony," Mavi suggested with a grin. Abby couldn't help but frown in response.

"Can you be serious, Mavi? I'm not joking with you," she said with a serious expression.

The mischievous smile on Mavi's lips suddenly disappeared when she saw that Abby was not pleased with what she had said. It seemed that Abby was genuinely troubled.

Mavi held Abby's hands and gently squeezed them. "Why are you worrying about something like that when it's so unlikely that the man would find out that the twins he talked to at the mall are his children? We don't even know if their paths will cross again, yet here you are already stressing yourself over it. Don't get ahead of fate. Just chill, okay?"

Abby took a deep breath and nodded at her friend. Maybe Mavi was right. She shouldn't think too far ahead because what she's imagining is still a long way from happening.

After their conversation, Abby suddenly felt relieved. Days passed without crossing paths with that man and her twins again, so the worry she felt completely disappeared.

"Kiss Mommy before I leave," Abby said with a smile, offering her cheek for her twin to kiss. She would attend the welcome party for the new CEO of La Corja Empire that night, and her twin would be left in the care of their nanny.

"Bye, Mom," Ashtine said with a smile after kissing her cheek.

"Take care, Mom. Bye," Ashley also said goodbye.

"Don't be naughty with Nanmy Trenny," Abby instructed the twins as she got into her second-hand car.

"Yes, Mom," the twins replied in unison. She waved at them before starting the engine and driving away.

Abby couldn't help but feel annoyed as she got stuck in traffic. It was already six in the evening, yet the traffic was still heavy. The traffic problem in their country was really severe.

She couldn't afford to be late today because she was assigned to hand over the flower bouquet to their new CEO. No one wanted to take on that simple task because almost all employees of La Corja Empire were wary of the former CEO's son.

They said that their new CEO, Finn La Corja, is strict, dominant, and ruthless. You will be fired right away if you make a mistake in front of him.

Finn had just returned from abroad, where he managed the other branches of the La Corja Empire in Europe. It seems like almost all businesses are under the La Corja's control. That's how wealthy their clan is. And Finn La Corja is the only child and heir to all the properties of the La Corjas.

Abby was about to escape the traffic when her cell phone rang. Their department manager was calling her.

"Where are you, Abby? Why aren't you here yet?" their manager immediately scolded her when she answered the call.

"I'm almost there, Miss Cornejo. I'm just stuck in traffic a bit, but I'm close." Even though their manager was not in front of Abby, she still grimaced. If the entire La Corja Empire feared the new CEO, it was Miss Angela Cornejo who was feared by the employees in their department. She was strict and always wanted things on time. She absolutely disliked any employee in her department being late.

"Okay. Just hurry up because, in a few minutes, the welcome party for Mr. La Corja will start," Miss Cornejo firmly instructed Abby before turning off her cell phone.

Abby secretly prayed that she wouldn't be late to the welcome party so she wouldn't get scolded too much by their manager. If she were late, Miss Cornejo would have no choice but to be the one to hand the flower bouquet to Mr. La Corja. And if that happened, Abby was certain that she wouldn't just get scolded but would also receive a torrent of lectures from the manager.

When Abby arrived at the venue of the welcome party, her eyes immediately searched for their manager because the introduction of their new CEO had already begun.

She breathed a sigh of relief when she found where their manager was standing. And as she expected, the manager was frowning while holding the flower bouquet. When the manager saw her, she immediately waved at her and motioned for her to come closer.

"Why are you only here now?" the manager immediately scolded her while handing over the flower bouquet to her hands. "Here's the bouquet. Go up on stage and give it to Mr. La Corja."

Just as Mr. Finn La Corja's name was called to approach the microphone and give a short speech, Abby also started walking toward the stage with a smile. Because when the name of their new CEO is called, that's when she will hand over the flower bouquet.

Abby was near the stage when she caught a glimpse of their new CEO's face. The sweet smile on her lips suddenly disappeared, and she even stopped walking when she saw Finn La Corja's face. She looked as if she had seen a ghost. It seemed like fate was playing tricks on her because the person she never wanted to see again was in front of her now. That person was the new CEO of the La Corja Empire.
