"What is this? Why are you giving me this?" Collin asked.
"That is a chalk." I answered.
"We will use that. So that, you do not get lost and we can still get back in our car." I added.
She just nod at me and gave each of us a chalk.
Ellise and Sabrina walked first.
Then Samuel and Gabbielle followed them.
Christoff walk next to his sister, Samantha.
While I'm walking next to Collin, Austine walks near her.
As we walked, I noticed Samantha turning her look to Collin.
I just watch them.
Samuel and Christiff leaves a cross mark in every trees we pass.
"Hey! Baby! Come with me and take my hand." Samantha said while giving her hands to Austine.
I could see how he would look to Collin. It is full of jealousy and insecurities. She doesn't just say it, but I know that's how she feels.
I know Samantha and Christoff for a years. I met Christoff at the court. He is also a member of the varsity team. Then he introduce me to his twin sister named, Samantha.
Collin is my classmate. She is a smart student. She is a member of students council, and the president of the classroom
I used to like her. Actually, since day one. I just don't say it. I don't want to be ignored by her. And if you ask me, she is a type of girl that, it's so nice to look at.
I don't know the story between Samantha and Collin. I just know that Samantha is Austine's girlfriend.
I feel something about Collin and Austine. I feel like they have a secret that they didn't want to tell us.
"Oh! My God! There's a lot of huge tree here. If we don't have this chalk, maybe we will get lost soon. But, thanks to Mattheo's idea." Samuel said then he smile at me.
I just smile at him.
"Beware of snakes. Maybe it's just around the corner." Samantha said while secretly glancing at collin.
"Are you . . ." said Collin, before a pulled her close to me.
She just look at me as if asking why did I do that.
I don't know why I'm doing this. I don't know why I'm protecting Collin.
I shouldn’t be doing this because I don’t want to deepen my feelings for her any more.
"Are you okay?" She said while looking at me.
I just nod at her.
But I was shocked when she suddenly grabbed my arms.
I look at her as if I'm asking why.
She smiled at me once and said, "I know you're not. I will hold you like this to make you feel okay. I'm here!" then she smiled again.
My heart seemed to melt. In the time that we known each other, only now has she become like that to me.
I couldn't help but shudder secretly.
As we continue walking, they still continue putting cross marks in the trees.
"Let's just rest for a while. We are walking for a long time. Let's just rest even for a few minutes." said Sabrina as she sat at the root of the tree.
The other's agreed to her and find their own place to sit.
They started taking selfies for remembrance since this is a perfect spot, it that has a big trees background. We started solo then groufie and selfies to each of them.
"Come, Mattheo." said Sabrina while holding my arm and looking at me.
I had no choice but to stand beside her.
He handed her cellphone to Collin and said, "Take a picture of us."
It took her many shots before she stops.
I went back to sitting next to Collin but, Sabrina grabbed me again caused me to stand again.
As I take a glympse to Collin, it looks like she doesn't even care. She is just looking at her cellphone.
"Look Mattheo!" said Sabrina while showing me the pictures she got earlier.
"We look so cute together, right?" She said while shaking my arms. This sh*t feels overjoyed huh!
I just smile and nod everytime she says something.
"You're so handsome, Mattheo. Do you know that?" she said while looking at me with a smile.
I just reply her with a smile.
"So, I don't wonder why so many people likes you. Because, you're so handsome. You're still smart and kind. Everyone admires you." She said while looking at me.
"Thankyou for the compliment but you don't have to say that." I said as I smile to her.
"But I have to. So that you will know what others think about you. You know that's important don't you." She said while smiling and looking at me.
I just laugh at what she says.
"Thankyouu! Sab. Thankyou." I said while laughing at her.
"So, I gotta go next to Ellise. You know how she thinks. It's different." She said while laughing.
I just nod at her and said, "Just come near me if you need anything."
He just nod and smile at me then walked away from me.
As I went back next to Collin, she started teasing me.
"You look good together, Matt." she said while laughing.
I look at her and point my finger to myself and said, "Me? and Sabrina?" then laugh.
"We're just friends. No more and no less. Just friends." I added.
"But what about her? Are you sure she feels the same way? Do you really think she likes you just a friend, don't you?" She asked while there's a smile in her face.
"Why not? Maybe she just said that because she's our friend, so he praised me. I can't see any wrong with that." I said while looking to her.
"You really fight for it huh." She yelled at me then laugh.
I just look at her while she is teasing me all the way.
Actually, I don't hate her for teasing me. In fact, I'm still glad because of it. The pleasure of seeing her laugh because of me.
"You know what, Mattheo. No girls will say compliment things to a boy unless they like you. If the girl is interested to you, she will say anything that makes you feel comfortable with her." She said while wearing a smile in her face.
"How about you?" I said as I look next to her.
She looks at me while raising her eyebrow.
She's so beautiful at this moment.
"Is there any possibility that you, will fall for me? So, it means, when you started saying compliment things to me, that means you like me. Huh!" I said as I'm teasing her.
I was shocked when she suddenly hit and continuesly hitting my arms.
"Ouch! It hurts so badly, Collin. Stop it." I said while trying to hold her hands to stop her from hitting me.
"You deserve it. You're a crazy sh*t. You know! I don't know why they like you. Coz, in fact, you are like an ugly duckling." She said while laughing.
"Ugly duckling, huh! Don't blame me if sooner or later, you will fall for an ugly ducking like me." I said confidently while wearing a big smile.
"In your face!" She said while laughing.
So I just laugh with her too.
Samuel, "*Caughing*" caused us to look at him.
"There's something wrong here." He said.
Then we all look at him and wondered what he's talking about.
"Look!" Then he pointed out his fingers next to me and Collin.
"They're not fighting. Instead, they are laughing and it's weird. Is there any other spirit in both of you? Then, we need to thank her." he said while laughing.
"Now, I really believe in Ellise that, there is really something in this place. Collin and Mattheo was the best example for it. A cat and a dog who already know how to be friends." he added.
Ellise just agreed with him.
"So, well, now you believed in me!" Ellise said as she take a look to Samuel.
Samuel just nod at her.
"You know what? We need to continue walking instead of talking about nonsense things." said Sabrina then he walked first. Then followed by others.
Collin chuckled as she look at me.
"See? I told you." She said while living me with a smile.
So we just continue walking and exploring the place.
