I am looking at Collin, while she're looking anywhere. She's so beautiful. I saw the reflection of her beauty because of the light that comes from the sun. She is sitting beside the window.
I'm just thinking that, will our story end without even knowing that I want her. How do I tell her that I like her! In this situation where, there is a zombie invasion and our lives are in danger, I don't know how to tell her what I feel.
I don't want to think about it. I just want right now is to end this zombie attacked that started from my friends.
Actually, It's our fault. if we didn't go to that place, it wont happen. We started this so we need to face the consequences of what we've done.
If the google map bring us to the right place, thing will not going to happen.
"Collin," I whispered.
She looks at me and I know she heard it.
"If sooner or later, I become like them, please don't hesitate to kill me or hurt me then. I don't want to hurt you, so do your thing." I said.
Actually, I know it's possible to happen. If the virus is airborne, we're finish.
"No. You cannot become like them. We started it, So, it's our fault and we need to face it. If they can't help themselves, then we need to help them. We need to face the problem first then look for the possible solutions." she said with a serious voice.
Actually, she's right. Nothing will happen if we just sit down and wait for what happens next.
"Do you have any idea how we will begin to face this?" She asked.
"Not yet! How about you? Do you have any idea?" I said while looking at her.
It took her few minutes before she speak.
"My brother owns a motorcycle. We can use it." she said.
"Where are we going?" I said while looking at her.
"In the area where all began." she answered.
I leave a deep sigh before I explained.
"Look! We are not sure if it's safe to travel in the road. We already know that there's a zombie everywhere, so there's a big possibility that we might be infected too. So using motorcycle is a bad idea. And in fact, The noise of the engine will caught the attention of the heart eaters. So let's proceed to another suggestion, Collin!" I said.
"Okay!" She whispered.
It's been five-thirty in the afternoon and here we are. There's a lot of infected people outside. They are walking continuously as if they never get tired.
"Can I borrow your phone?" She said while giving her hands to me.
"Why? Where is yours?" I asked while looking at her.
"I lost it. So please, Can I borrow you phone?" she added.
I get my phone inside my bag and after that, I remove the password but she immediately snatch it from me.
"What are you going to do to my phone, Collin? People will not post a status update in social media sayin' they are infected or they are already zombie." I said while looking at her.
She just look at me and continue to use my phone.
"What are you doing?" Are you posting an update that you're still alive and saying, 'Hey, B*tches! I' m still alive! . . . Like that?" I look at her while giving me a smile.
She rolled her eyes to me.
"Stop making nonsense jokes. You are not Samuel and you will never be like him." she said.
Ouch! He compared me to his cousin. But I don't blame her. If I could only admit what I feel for her, this will not be that difficult for me.
"You're so close with your cousin, huh!" I said.
I gave me a smile. Even if it's dark, I see how beautiful she is, when she smile.
"We are together since we were young. I still remember before, I saw how close we are. Yeah! Maybe he's a kind of guy who takes life is just a big joke but you all don't know the whole story."She said.
She looks so serious.
"We're friends for almost a year but I never heard any story about you. Can you tell me some?" I asked.
She leaves a deep sigh and I heard it.
"My father already passed away a few years ago. Samuel's mother is his older sister. Since my father died, Aunt Eva serves as the breadwinner of my family while my mom is just helping her. I know it's hard for my mom to swallow her pride everytime she's seeking for help especially in financial problem." She said.
I heard she breathe deeply before she talks again.
"My life is a full of mess. And I don't want to ruin your mood just because of it." She added.
"By the way, here's your phone. I just check the news update about our case and the number of infected people reach a count of about a million a while ago. So I think we are not safe anymore." She said while looking at the window.
As we wait for the time to pass, we remain to be silent.
One idea just enter my mind.
"It's already seven o' clock in the evening, Collin!" I said.
"So, what are we going to do?" She asked while looking at me.
I turn my eyes outside before I speak.
"I'll check if we can get out of here." I said while preparing to stand.
"Huh! Are you serious? We are not safe outside. We can't just decide to go out whenever we want. I know that you know that, when I open that door, there's a lot of possible things that going to happen." She said while trying to convince me to stop my plan.
But it's to late. I decided to open the door and check what's going on outside.
"Fix your things and yourself. We will walk onto my house. We need to hurry." I said while preparing my bag.
He hold my arms caused me to look at her.
"Why?" I asked.
"Are you crazy? You don't know what will happen if we go outside and now, you're planning to walked? You're totally insane, Mattheo! If you want to die and turn into zombies like them, go! I will not stop you. But don't expect me to go with you." She said while holding my arms tightly.
A leave a deep sigh before I spoke.
"We will go to my house because we need my car. We need to go back to that hidden place that we found. Nobody will do this but only us. We started it. You already know how many people affected by this crisis. Nothing will happen if we just stay here. Sitting in the corner is a solution but not in this problem." I said while looking at her.
"We can't please those zombies to stop from eating us but we can avoid them as long as we can." I added.
I hold her hand and open the door slowly. Trying to avoid making loud noise.
"Are you really sure about this, Mattheo?" She whispered.
I didn't answer her. Instead, I pulled her ito a small space road that is so dark and only the light from the stars and moon will see.
"This is one of the safe way that we can use." I said while looking at her.
She turned her head in the area.
"This is too small. No vehicles are allowed to use this, right?" she said.
"Exactly." I said.
"I'm not familiar in this way. And looks like not everyone know this way, So, How did you know this?" She asked.
I leave a deep sigh before I answer.
"One of my team mates in basketball taught me this. He said that it's the shortcut from his house to mine." I answered.
I started to walked fastly while still holding Collin's hands.
"You need to be alert from time to time, Collin." I said.
When I look at her she just nod at me.
"Finally!" I said while looking at the window of my room.
"That's my room." I said while pointing out my window.
She looks at me badly.
"Are you crazy? How will we go to your house or even in your room? Can't you see the wall? Are you blind?" She said while making her eyes bigger.
I smirk at her.
"You go first! Then wait for me at that door." I said while pointing out my finger to the back door of my house.
After I help her, I followed her next.
She's so amazed after I found the spared key of the back door and open it.
