It was a long night for Nathan inside the hospital. He struggled with his fears and kept twisting and turning in his bed. When he opened his eyes in the morning the pain in his right shoulder was back again. The nurse gave him some painkillers and a warm glass of milk. He longed to go back to his room and sleep in his own bed again. Major Morris and Mr. Browning visited him at lunch time and inquired about his health. After the father – son conversation was over; Major Morris presented him with a letter. Nathan unfurled the folded piece of paper and as soon as he read the first few lines his face lit up with delight. The letter stated that Nathan was going to be awarded the Marine Corps Medal of Honor next week after he had fully recovered. Major Morris had heard all about Nathan’s tales
