It had been a week since the talent show and the children were now playing by the sea, while Rose and Lara sat under the umbrella and chatted, while they kept an eye on the children. Bunny and Max had their swimming trunks on and Sally had her swimsuit on. The children were smeared with special sunscreen. Bunny has fur, so was sunscreen actually necessary for him? That was unknown. The children did not play too far into the water and laughed as they played many games. Sometimes the children joined Rose and Lara to rest, eat or have a drink.
They were now building sandcastles and, luckily, they had the stuff to make it even more fun, like plenty of buckets and shovels. The kids chatted with each other and Bunny said he was glad for a warm day during the vacation. Max and Sally agreed. They didn't really like the school. While they were chatting more, Rose walked up to them with her cell phone in her hand. She looked at them softly, while Sally clearly noticed that something was up with Rose.
Someone had called her ... But who? That was the question on Sally's mind and she clearly let it be known to Rose. "What's wrong?"
Rose sighed and shook her head. She clearly didn't want to tell Sally what was wrong. That was when Lara arrived with a large basket that contained things. Now the children were asking questions in their heads. What was going on?
"We will tell you at home. It's time to go." Lara answered for Rose.
The children said nothing and began to clean up. They put their comfortable clothes back on. Their swimwear was still at the bottom. Finally, they left by car for home, to Rose's house.
The driving took a while, so Roos installed a small TV in the car so they could keep themselves occupied. Rose had some things for the children in the car for when the rides would take a while.
During the drive with the TV on, Max fell asleep first because he was tired from playing. His little head lay against the car window as he slept.
Sally, who was sitting in the middle of the seat in the back, was also starting to get tired. She had been playing a lot. She decided to take a nap so she laid her head gently on and against Bunny's shoulder and closed her eyes. The rabbit was startled by the contact that the girl made and looked at her. He was careful not to wake her. He couldn't help but smile at the contact. How peaceful Sally looked while she slept. He felt his heart beat faster and he was reminded of their moment in the park in the woods. Fortunately, the forest was not super big, and actually, the forest was super small. He would forever remember the kiss he received on his cheek. But then he looked away and his smile disappeared. He began to wonder something. What was Sally's life like? He was grateful that Sally came by often but he never saw her at home. How was her life with the others at home?
How was her friendship with the others? He had no idea that Sally's parents were like dirty liars.
But what no one knew was that Sally would encounter many problems and challenges during her teenage years.
The same would happen to the boys.

After the children were home, they were awakened and sent to the living room. They would clean up later and take a bath to wash off the sand grit and seawater. The children all sat on the couch while Rose and Lara grabbed chairs in the living room to sit in front of the children. Rose had some envelopes, documents, and ... contracts with them? Sally hadn't expected it. Had the boys won? Sally started to get a little impatient but luckily, she didn't have to wait long. Rose took the floor. The boys had indeed won and so they received prizes and a gift from the show. The boys got money and were allowed to go on special training on the other side of the country. But for that, they had to sign contracts. Not only the youngsters themselves, but also their parent, Rose.
Sally then had a little question and asked it out loud. "How long will the training take?"
Rose frowned. "It could take years, Sally."
Sally was in shock. Years? But then she was all alone, without the boys' company! What should she do then? Sally then became sad and tears came. Not only because she would be alone, but she was also happy for the boys. That was their dream, wasn't it?
Bunny saw how sad Sally looked and so he hugged her. Sally was surprised by the contact but hugged him back harder with a sad smile. "We'll be back before you know it, Sally. I promise."
At least that's what Bunny hoped, that time would pass quickly. Max just looked at them and he understood how Sally felt. He had become a big brother to Sally.
When the session was done, the children looked back at the ladies, who looked up with sad smiles. Apparently, everyone was really sad about it, about the boys going to the other side of the country.
But they didn't have to either. Rose was already trying to find a training center nearby for the boys but, alas, there was none in the area...
Rose grabbed a document and read it out loud. Everyone was as quiet as a mouse and listened. It said that when the contracts were signed, the youngsters and Rose agreed on how the boys would be trained and that they should live there for years. They also get private lessons from teachers who come by to give the boys lessons. Not only that, but they get free days and also vacations to spend with the other students. They are also allowed to call and write letters to their loved ones to keep in touch, but no visits.
Sally became suspicious when she heard that. Why no visits? When Sally asked Rose that, she replied that it was a waste of money, but the center also wanted to surprise everyone. How hard they changed when they returned home after their training sessions were over.
Not only did Rose become suspicious, but so did Lara. They are grown women and they know better when something isn't right. Something was indeed not right about the center ... Rose wanted to find out. But before she said she wanted to think about it, the boys were totally silent about it.
They started pleading again, saying they would try to convince the bosses to change it. "We promise!" vowed Max as Bunny nodded quickly. "Can we go? Please!"
Rose looked at Lara and Sally, who both shrugged. It was Rose's choice. The woman sighed and picked up the contracts. "All right then. Let's sign them."
And before Sally knew it, the contracts were signed.
