Today was a big day. It was the day the boys had been waiting for. It was finally the talent show. Rose, Sally, and Lara were there backstage to watch the show while the boys were playing. It was not their turn at the moment and the boys watched the other contestants who had shown their talents. They felt not at ease. The contestants were good and nothing could stop them, only the 4 judges...
Bunny and Max were neatly dressed as if they were going to a party. The boys had asked Rose for help to look good. Max held his guitar tightly to him as if it were a plush. He was nervous like his adoptive rabbit brother.
Rose was luckily not recognized by people. She wore a hood and lots of makeup. Rose could disguise herself very well. She watched a lot of YouTube videos on how to use makeup herself to avoid being recognized. And to her relief, it worked.
How could you see the contestants, do you think? There was a big TV hanging against the wall where you could see the room. Sally noticed that little Bunny and little Max were nervous, so she went over to them. "Are you guys ready?"
Bunny looked at her and lowered his ears. His face was full of uncertainty. He didn't know if he could do that. He finally said something after some silence. "I ... I don't know if I can do this."
Sally looked gently at Bunny as Max continued to watch TV. He tried to distract himself a little. Rose, who is the boys' parent, joined them along with Lara and they knelt down in front of the boys while Sally stood next to Rose.
"You are going to do very well, boys. Trust me," Rose said with a heartwarming smile on her beautiful face.
Then Rose and Lara continued talking to the boys while Sally decided to look around a bit. They were indeed all children from a young age to 18. The man on the TV never said how old the child had to be minimum to participate. Some of the kids were well dressed while others looked pretty normal. There were actually more furries than humans. Sally liked that humans gave a chance for the furries to participate. Sally had a big heart for furries, even though she was not one herself. She didn't care if she was human. Her attention finally returned to the boys when she noticed Bunny looking at her. "Are you okay?"
Sally smiled and let out a nod that she was fine.
Before Bunny could say anything else, a dog-furry assistant walked up to them. It was a male. He looked at the boys. "It's your turn next, boys. I'll lead you."
After the girls said goodbye to the boys, they walked up the stairs to follow the dog who was leading them. Sally watched the boys disappear as they walked past the big curtains. She sighed. What if they were going to lose? She couldn't help being worried. Then she felt a hand on her shoulder and looked up. She met Lara's eyes looking into her eyes. She looked with a smile as if to say everything would be all right. Sally hoped so, at least.
She watched the boys walk on stage until they were in the middle in front of the four judges: two furries and two humans. Sally listened intently to the boys, as well as to the judges, as the boys answered the questions from the judges.
After the boys were done with the questions, they began to play. Bunny sang with all his heart while Max put his focus on the guitar, both careful not to make mistakes. They had practiced well. After the TV showed the judges, Sally noticed that they looked surprised. They were impressed. Sally looked happily at Lara and Rose, who also looked pleased and proud of the boys. The boys used all the techniques they had learned from Rose and online as they searched for special moves to dance. Bunny was the toughest of the two. He immediately started sweating from the dance and all the singing. Max followed and began to sweat as well.
To the boys' relief, the song didn't last very long. They had made it with Rose's help. After the song was done, the boys bowed to the audience. And then the applause broke out. Everyone, even the judges, stood up from their seats. Sally noticed that the boys looked shy and waved to the audience.
When the boys saw that the girls were waiting, Max walked over to them while Bunny gave the microphone to the assistant. He immediately ran after Max and joined in the cuddle time with Rose.
Sally and Lara could only smile as the boys were cuddling with Rose. When Rose let the boys go, Bunny shyly went over to Sally as the girl looked at him in surprise. When Bunny came up to her, Bunny hugged her gently, as if he didn't want to hurt her.
Sally looked at the women and Max, who smiled and nodded at her. Sally smiled broadly and hugged Bunny back. She was so proud of the boys.
