It had been weeks since the contracts had been signed by the boys and Rose. The boys were prepared to go. All the items were also packed, like clothes, their favorite stuffed animals, and also some comics and toys that could easily fit in. Sally was there to help them pack, along with Rose and Lara. When the day came to leave, Roos drove with the others toward the airport. One wonders who would go with the boys. Well, the document stated that a human would help to travel with the boys because they were too young to leave on their own.
After everything appeared to be in order with the boys' suitcases, everyone went to the room where the doors were open to leave for their plane. And there indeed stood a man wearing a suit with dark glasses on. It was a man from security. No one spoke a word while they stood there. The security man noticed the boys where he was standing so he walked up to them.
He smiled kindly at them. "Hello, boys. I am the person mentioned in the document to travel with you. Are you ready to leave?"
"Yes!" the boys said at the same time, excited but also full of nerves.
Then the man said they still had time before the plane would leave, so the boys had time to say goodbye to the girls. Rose tried to look strong, but as an adoptive mother, she would miss her children hard. She was grateful that the boys would be allowed to contact her when they were free. Lara looked sad with a smile on her face, as if she knew how it felt. And Sally? She didn't know what or how to feel. Sad she certainly was, but should she show it? Was she too weak? Was she weak if she showed her feelings? Sally was lost in thought as she watched the planes. She found it so interesting how a few were flying away toward the clouds while the others were landing.
She didn't even hear anyone say her name. Because Sally didn't say anything, the person hugged her. Sally was startled and realized it was Bunny. She hugged him back and felt tears welling up in her eyes, but she pushed them away so no one would notice. They released each other and smiled sadly at each other.
"Please remember my promises, okay?"
Sally nodded and resolved never to forget. Something clicked in her head and it was stored so precisely. She would never forget it. Their hugging lasted a little longer than expected. In the background, everyone was touched by the moment Bunny and Sally showed. Then everyone heard a woman's voice through the speakers that the plane was leaving, that of the boys and the security man.
"I'm going to miss you, Bun Bun," Sally said in Bunny's ear.
Some looked surprised. Bun Bun? That was new to them. But he wouldn't lie; he liked the nickname. It was only to be used by those he loved around him. They let go of each other and everyone said goodbye once more, giving quick kisses and hugs. Then the boys took their things and left in the direction of their plane.
Sally couldn't hold back her tears this time and she let them go. Rose and Lara saw this and hugged her. They comforted her however they could.
