Chapter 6

935 Words
It was night while Sally was sleeping soundly in the guest room that Rose had prepared since Sally would sleep for a week. That day, everything went well between the children and they spent the whole day with each other. Sally even got a tour from the boys and Sally liked the house better than her own where she now lived with her parents. You cannot believe how relieved and excited Sally felt after the day came that she would be staying with Rose. The child immediately created a strong bond with the mother of two and Rose treated Sally as if she were her daughter. Rose loved children and she wanted to be a mom herself, but unfortunately, she really didn't trust anyone in her life. She had already given it a shot but, unfortunately, it had failed. So she decided to go for adoption, but then she discovered that her younger brother existed and immediately chose to take Max away from their parents first. After it was successful, Rose started an adoption. It was a long road but she finally found Bunny and she chose him. That was the story Rose experienced with the boys. Sally was sleeping soundly in a warm bed with a blanket over her. She had a peaceful expression on her face as if she was dreaming. She found it tremendously strange because the next day she remembered that her dream was about Bunny, but the question was why? Why was she dreaming about him? What she discovered was that they were teenagers and they embraced each other in arms. Sally was in pure love so that she almost fainted in Bunny's arms, but then she saw him crying. Sally became worried. Just after she was about to ask what was wrong, Sally woke up with a gasp. Her eyes had shot open and she sat up. What was this dream? But then she heard it and it wasn't a lie. Someone was crying. Sally became anxious instead of fearful. It was not a stranger, but someone in Rose's house. She carefully got out of her bed while in her short pajamas, an apron, and a T-shirt that were both comfortable. She walked carefully and quietly to the door and opened it. She did it so carefully so as not to wake anyone because Rose's bedroom was nearby. So was Maxwell's bedroom. Also Bunny's. But who is crying? Sally went silently to the door she chose. Maxwell's. Sally gently pressed her ear against the door and was quiet. But she didn't hear anything. It's not Maxwell and it's probably not Rose. But Bunny. Sally walked cautiously to Bunny's bedroom and her fears were correct. It is Bunny who is crying. She gently opened the door and her heart broke from the image she saw before her face. Bunny has his ears pinned down, his knees pressed against his chest and he is even shaking a little. Clearly, something was going on that made him like this. "Bunny?" said Sally softly, so as not to wake anyone else, but also to attract Bunny's attention. Bunny stopped whimpering as he heard Sally's voice. He sniffed a few times before finally saying, "What are you doing here?" He also finally made eye contact with Sally and he was clearly filled with tears. Sally looked softly and walked toward his bed. "I heard you crying and I want to see if you're okay." Bunny sniffed and sighed. "It was a nightmare. Sorry, I woke you... Please go back to bed." Sally couldn't believe what she was hearing. Why was he apologizing? Just because he had woken Sally up? But Sally understood why he was scared. Not only did she notice that he had a big heart, but he was even a sensitive rabbit. Sally looked a little in shock after hearing such words from her favorite rabbit. She sat down on the bed next to him and hugged him in her arms. Bunny froze in shock, but then began to cry harder and hugged her back, his head on her warm neck. Sally began to rock gently back and forth as if Bunny were her baby. She also began to gently soothe him so Bunny could calm down in her arms. Every time Sally started crying hard, Lara was always there for her so she could calm down in her arms. Sally learned from Lara to be able to soothe Bunny now. Bunny finally began to calm himself but did not move away from Sally's arms. He felt calm and peaceful, even loved too, but he didn't dare say so. Sally was gently stroking his head, near behind his ears, while her other hand rubbed his back. "Are you calm now, BunBun?" "Yes..." said Bunny in a loved and gentle way until his ears perked up and he looked questioningly at her. "Seriously? BunBun?" Sally giggled. "Yep. And you just have to learn to deal with it." Bunny rolled his eyes until he lay back on his bed on his back with a sigh. "Just for you." Then Sally felt shy and looked at Bunny gently. She hesitated at first, but then she finally said the words. "Can I sleep next to you?" Bunny was speechless for a moment until he looked softly with a nod and watched Sally crawl under the blanket next to him. "Goodnight." "Goodnight." As the children quietly fell back asleep, little did they know that a figure had seen the whole picture behind Bunny's door. It was Rose. She smiled and said softly, "They make a good couple."
