Chapter 4

668 Words
Weeks had passed since Bunny and Max were new to the school. Since they were brothers, they had often been seen together as best friends do. Even though Max is a human and Bunny is a furry, they have a mother figure who took care of both of them so that they have a good life. Also, there will definitely be challenges like negative attention, bullying, and others. The bond between the boys and Sally had become very strong since they worked together in groups for certain assignments but they often spent time together, always when they had a break. This is how Sally got to know them better. Max said that Rose had taken care of him since when he was a baby because their parents were alcohol addicts and also even used drugs. After Rose discovered that Max existed, she fought so hard to finally become Maxwell's adoptive mother and she won the battle. Their parents are currently behind bars. But when we went to Bunny, he was very quiet when it came to his private life. He didn't tell a thing about it and Sally knew that he was hiding something dark, but Sally is a kind angel and respects his choices. The only people who did know about his past were Rose and Max. Sally was now walking home with Lara after a boring day at school. Soon it was finally summer vacation and Sally was looking forward to it immensely. She also got her parents' permission to come and sleep at Rose's big house for a week, where Bunny and Max lived. Sally was looking forward to it as well. None of her manipulative parents, no lies, and especially no lessons from her mother on how to behave like a lady. It was also kind of a warm day outside. It was around 30°C outside, which was not suitable for children and the elderly because of the heat danger. So Sally has a cloth on over her head for protection and a dress which she actually hated. Why was she wearing that? Because her parents told her to. It was an ugly gray dress that had white stripes. Lara was also kind enough to bring an umbrella to give Sally shade. Her parents want their daughter to stay healthy for classes. What good parents they are. Wrong. "What are your plans, Miss Sally? Summer vacation is about to start," Lara asked Sally with a smile as they were walking in the park. Sally gave Lara a look. "Don't call me miss. Just call me Sally!" She smiled excitedly. "I'm going to sleep for a week at Maxwell's and Bunny's house. I can't wait!" She jumped in the air excitedly. Lara grinned. "And are you going to secretly kiss there?" Sally gasped in shock but was quickly covered because she was protective of herself. Why kiss? She was still too young to know what it was like to kiss someone you loved a lot. Sally loved Bunny and Max but as friends. She wanted to do everything for them, but it wasn't possible to successfully close everything. "Ew, no kiss!" Sally showed a playful dirty look on her face, which made Lara let out a chuckle. What exactly did Lara look like? What Sally found quite familiar about Lara was that she always had her long brown hair in a ponytail. Lara also even has some green shades since she has blue eyes. While the girls were always walking, Sally started thinking about the particular project that Mrs. Cloud admitted to her entire class, including Sally, Bunny, and Max. What was this project? That's what Sally wanted to know, and preferably as soon as possible. Mrs. Cloud did promise that the project would be the very last task for this school year, even though there were children who wished it was finally over with assignments, homework, and projects. But what the project would be about, Sally would see it the next day.
