Chapter 3

1567 Words
The next day there was some rain when Lara came to wake Sally up in her big bedroom. Sally's room did not, unfortunately, look like that of a 6-year-old. Normally, you will see toys on the floor, costumes, stuffed animals, and whatnot. But no. Sally's bedroom had to be extremely clean and stuff was forbidden in her room. She did have a desk, a closet, a bed, and others that you had for a bedroom, but if Sally wanted to play, she had to go to the playroom for it. It was big and so Sally had a lot of stuff. When Lara had time and nothing to do, she would be seen with Sally playing. When Sally wanted something, Lara would buy it for her with Sally's parents' money. Sally's parents didn't care what Sally brought into the house. Was it even also a castle, a stuffed toy, or a doll. They took no notice. Sally had only Sundays off. On Saturdays, she had to put on a tight dress and be busy training herself to act like a lady. Sally hates that. Her mother was very strict then and it took hours before it was done. Sally has already had a panic attack because of the classes and she had even destroyed a vase that belonged to her ancestors over the years. Sally didn't care, but she was severely punished. Her parents were blind all the time and it also seemed that Sally's health didn't hurt them. Only Lara is the only one who cares for Sally. "Good morning, Miss Sally," began Lara, opening the pink curtains. "Time to get up." Sally yawned and groaned. "But I don't want to." She cried out, but it was soon replaced by giggles as Lara playfully picked Sally up gently and set her on the soft mat. This is how it continued in the morning. Lara was preparing Sally to go to school. So Sally always wore rich clothes for children and they were not even comfortable clothes! Sally hated that too. As all that was ready, Sally went to school. * Normally, you say goodbye to your parents when you arrive at school, right? Guess what? With Sally's parents, it wasn't like that. It was just Sally out of the limo car and then her dad drove off. Sally then remembered that today two new students should be here now, but where were they? Sally remembered every face well from school and especially from her class. But then what she heard next brought her instantly alert. She heard someone crying and saying how much it hurt. Sally immediately looked around and followed the sounds. She then suddenly saw children in a ring and did nothing! What Sally saw next made her blood hot with anger. She saw a golden rabbit with beautiful blue eyes that Sally had ever seen and the rabbit was being beaten and stomped by the bullies. There was also an orange-haired boy with the same blue eyes trying to protect the rabbit but was held back. Sally saw in his expression how angry he looked. Sally didn't hesitate and dropped her backpack on the ground before running toward the bullies. "Hey!" After the girl arrived, she pushed the near bully to the ground as hard as she could. The bunny who saw it all watched in shock as someone finally came to the rescue. His eyes were filled with tears since he was crying. The other boy, seeing that the bullies were distracted, gave the other bullies a beating with his fist against their faces. That will surely leave a bruise. Sally watched along with the rabbit and boy as they walked away in pain while pressing the spot with their hands. Sally felt tremendous pride in herself. She didn't care about being punished. She had just saved a rabbit and his brother. Or was it his friend? Sally immediately went to the rabbit who was sitting on the ground in pain. She gently grabbed his arm and Sally had to stay calm with her emotions. His fur is super soft! Sally loves soft things! The rabbit sniffled and accepted Sally's help. After he was on his feet, he looked at Sally gratefully. "T-Thank you." The boy, who was standing next to the rabbit, smiled. "Yes. Thank you. Without you, they wouldn't get away from us." Sally smiled at the boy and at the rabbit. The rabbit felt so shy that he pinned his rabbit ears down. Sally thought it was cute that she giggled and the boy grinned. * After the moment calmed down, Sally and the boy took the bunny to the school nurse. Sally discovers that Bunny is the rabbit and her brother, a human boy, calls himself Maxwell, but she is told that people call him Max. Sally thinks the names fit them well but keeps quiet about it. Of course, Sally also introduced herself. After they had been to the nurse, the bell rang. Max looked at Sally. "We need to be at the principal's office. Can you lead us along the way?" Sally smiled. She's always happy to help. She nodded with another broad smile. "Always ready and happy to help!" Bunny looked a little worried and a little uncertain. "But won't you get into trouble?" Sally was silent for a while before shrugging her shoulders as if she didn't care. "I actually don't care. I think school is stupid." She smiled back at the boys. "Well, shall we go?" * Let's just say, since Sally was late, it was no pleasure to see Mrs. Cloud again. She was not happy that Sally was late since the class saw her. They hadn't even told her the reason for what had really happened. Why didn't they? Did they hate Sally? Children normally spoke the truth easily, as if nothing was happening. Sally did know what she was saying. She, unfortunately, didn't even tell Mrs. Cloud or others how her family was. How would she tell Bunny and Max how her family was? Sally knew she had finally made friends but was it if they wanted to come over and sleep? Her parents wouldn't even let anyone come over to play with Sally or come over to sleep. But if she built a stronger bond, she could escape from her parents by spending time with Max and Bunny. But Bunny was mostly who she wanted to be friends with. Max is like her, a human, while Bunny is a furry rabbit. "Class, these are the adoptive brothers, Max and Bunny. I want you all to be friendly and always willing to help them. Understand?" Mrs. Cloud's stern voice rang through the class and some students said "Yes" or just nodded to show they understood. * "So, how did you like the school?" Sally asked, a little excited to hear Bunny's answer. They were now in the playground, waiting for their families to come and pick them up, as with every child here at school. Oh, did I forget to mention that the school where Sally went was also where both humans and furries went? The rich school where Sally went serves rich kids. Since Max and Bunny were here too, that probably means they probably have rich parents too. But don't be fooled. Being rich isn't important. Bunny hesitated at first but decided to tell the truth. He pinned his ears down. Sally saw that he was looking sadly at his rabbits' feet and that worried her. What's wrong with him? After there was some silence, Bunny finally said the words that broke Sally's heart. "... No, not nice. Bullied on the first day with Max... But luckily someone came to the rescue." That made Bunny smile a little, full of gratitude in it. Sally felt her heart touched by it. That was very sweet of Bunny. She giggled and nodded at him. She watched him nod back at her. Then a female human figure walked up to them. The woman was beautifully dressed like a modern mother with beautiful blue eyes. The woman also had long orange hair with some red in it if you looked very closely. But Sally watched the woman carefully after she stopped in front of them. Bunny smiled so it had to be someone he knew. But the figure looked a lot more familiar to Sally somewhere. After the figure stopped in front of them, Bunny smiled, happy to see her. The figure smiled back at the bunny. But both looked at Sally, who looked more closely at the figure. Her eyes and mouth opened wide after she finally knew. The figure giggled and chuckled after she heard Sally's answer. "You're Rose! Now I recognize you!" Rose, the figure, nodded with a smile. Rose is one of the most famous artists ever, in Sally's opinion. Sally had discovered Rose when she was a toddler and that's how she found out that Rose was a singer, dancer, and actress with no children. "That's my adoptive mom," Bunny said with a shy tone and he pinned his ears down. Sally would never forget that day when she had met Rose and the answers too. Rose has no biological children but she is Bunny's adoptive mother. Not only that, but Rose is even Maxwell's older sister. Why hadn't Sally noticed that Rose and Max looked alike?
