Chapter 4: Roses

Alright new plan, I am going to avoid Cole at all costs, and if need be I'll have Liam by my side all day! As I brush my hair and put on my work clothes and heels, I start to hear Liam opening my front door.

"Hey are you ready to go?" Liam asks while putting my coat on.

"Yes, and I've prepared for anything!" As he walks to the car with me, and we head to work I just try to focus on the day. When I walk into the office, i realize I cannot open the door.

"Is there something wrong Alessandria?" He asks.

"The door won't open."

"Let me try." Then as the forces open the door, we all stood in shock to see roses fill the office from top to bottom. As I step over all of the roses on the floor, I finally reach my desk to see a note.

To my dearest princess: I apologize for last night. I never wanted to leave you but it wasn't just for my mother that I left. I would like the chance to make it up to you and the roses are just the first part of it. Meet me at our dinner spot we always used to go to on Saturday nights. I love you princess.

Suddenly my I just fill with rage and I storm out of my office to find Adele.

"Adele. I need you to do me a favor." Then I write down Chloe's address and a letter to Cole.

"Yes ma'am what is it?"

"I am going in for a meeting with Liam, so I need you to send all the roses in my office to this address. Also fax this letter over to Mr.Cole, but be sure that only he reads it."

"Oh a love letter perhaps?" Suddenly I snap my head back at her and glare. I was not mad at her, but I'd never write a letter to him of all people.

"Right I was only kidding. I will send them off immediately."

Then Liam puts his arm around me and laughs as we head down to the conference room.

"Scary as always Alessandria, if you aren't careful you'll give the poor woman a heart attack." I can feel a vein pop on my head as he laughs harder.

"It's not funny Liam. He is infuriating! I mean I'm trying to run a business, and I couldn't even get in my office because of those roses!" As I let out a huge sigh I can't help but put my hands over my face.

"Be careful not to get too stressed out. I wouldn't want you to get wrinkles on your face because of your frowning." As I glare at him I hit him in the ribs where he loses breath.

"Ouch Dammit!"

"You deserve it. Now come on, I don't want to be late to my own meeting with my investors."

Cole's POV:

"Sir, you have a letter being faxed over to you from Ms. Alessandria from Dating." As I drink my coffee, I suddenly start choking on it after hearing that she wrote me a letter. Maybe she's thanking me for all of those roses. I mean I didn't know if I went to far but I wanted to show her how much I am sorry. Then I get a call from Chloe and I decided to answer it.

"Sweetie! You really shouldn't have!" She says with an excited tone. She's so loud that I had to cover one of my ears before she busted my ear drum.

"I'm sorry? Would you care to explain what I did?" I ask her since I genuinely have no idea what she is talking about. Oh god I hope my mother hasn't done same damn grand gesture.

"Oh you sly dog. You know how much I love red roses." Red roses? "Oh wow and so many! They just keep coming they could fill your entire office!" She said while screaming like a 12 year old school girl.

Wait a minute I never sent her any roses. The only amount of roses that I sent out were-...! She didn't! Oh hell no. Then I print out the faxed letter that Alessandria sent me and read it.

Dear Cole, as I very much appreciate these lovely roses, I think you've sent them to the wrong woman. You see my name is not Chloe, and I am certainly not your fiancé. Considering that Chloe is my friend and I know her address, I have taken the liberty to send her those lovely roses. Every. Single. One. "Um...Cole honey are you listening?" Chloe asked in a concerning voice.

"Yes love I am, however I am about to start a meeting, so I will have to call you back." As I hang up the phone, and slam it on my desk, I start to tap my foot over and over.

Wow just wow. I spent two thousand dollars on those roses and I make sure they were her favorite color pink. Instead of getting angry I loosen my tie and take off my blazer. I think I'll just have to give her a little visit.

When I walk out of my office, my secretary Alice, tries to stop me.

"Oh Cole, are you headed out for lunch? I could join you." Then as I walk past her, she speeds up past me and starts to walk with me.

"No need Alice, I am going out for lunch with some one." As I grab my keys from the valet, she tries to stop me once again, by grabbing the car door before I close it.

"Maybe I could just accompany y-" Looking at the time, I realize if she's going to go on break it will be in the next 35 minutes and that means I have 25 minutes to get there, so I cut Alice off.

"Look Alice I have things to do, so cancel all of my appointments for this evening, and if my mother calls just tell her I'll back in the office soon." Finally I close the door and the driver pulls off.

As thirty minutes of driving go by I rush into her building, where I meet the same guy as before standing in front of her office.

"Excuse me." When I try to push my way through, he puts his hand on my chest and stops me.

"Yea no, sorry lover boy, today is not a good day." As he smirks at me it makes my blood boil.

"I'm sorry, who are you again?" I decided to take a jab at his ego, because quite frankly I don't have time for this.

"Haha. You really think you're funny huh? Look, the name is Liam commit it to memory, and please know that my girlfriend doesn't want to see you." Then I start to roll up my sleeves and I roll my head back.

"I don't remember asking you if she wanted to see me or not. Get out of my way." Suddenly he steps closer to me and he starts to laugh and then he whispers something to me.

"Be careful Mr.Colin, remember that if you make too much of a fuss your face will be everywhere in the media. Also I don't think that your fiancé would appreciate that you're at her best friend's office without saying anything to her." I can't take it anymore so I grab him by his collar and suddenly something stops me.

Alessandria's POV:

Geez that meeting really was tiresome, and I'm just so hungry. I know Liam said that he was going to watch out for Colin but I do not think that he will show up. Especially after I sent those roses to Chloe he is probably pissed by now. Even in the past when I would pretend to not like his gifts or give them away, he would get so mad and jealous. Other women would think that he's too possessive or too controlling, but if you knew Colin like I did, then you'd know that's how he shows his affection.

Suddenly I see Colin grabbing Liam by the collar like he wants to kill him. Jesus Liam I said to keep him away from me, not to poke the bear with a stick!

"Cole! Enough! My office now!" As I separate him and push him into my office I apologize to everyone and head in behind him.

"Jesus Christ Cole. First, you bring flowers flooding my office, where I can't even get in. Then, you just show up to my office with no warning. Finally, I come out of my meeting, and you're assaulting Liam in front of my entire staff. Do you enjoy making my life harder!?" I start to shut the blinds in my office and make him sit down.

"You started this you know." Then I snap my head back at him and glare as I walk towards him.

"How is this my fault?"

"I wouldn't have came by if you didn't send the roses that I picked out especially for you, and gave them to Chloe." I slam my hands down on the desk in front of him out of anger.

"That's where they belong Cole. With. Your. FIANCE!"

"For someone who expresses so deeply that she feels nothing for me, and that you don't want me at all, you seem really angry about Chloe and I." As he rolls his eyes I can feel my face getting red.

"Wow you're so conceited! Have you ever thought that maybe I'm pissed that you're using my friend in this grand scheme you and your mother are cooking up!" Suddenly he stands up and slams his hands on the table next to mine.

"Well you're so oblivious that you can't see it huh? Why do you think I sent you those roses instead of Chloe? Why do you think that I chose pink roses instead of regular red ones." Suddenly the words escape me as he start to step closer to me with each sentence, until I'm up against the wall.

"I did that Alessandria because I know your favorite color is pink. I remember that you love roses, but you don't like being a traditional girl. I got you so many because I wanted to show I'm not like some normal man to bring you a bouquet. I want to give you the world."

"Yet you can't stand up to your own mother right? Instead you can just easily say you're going to leave me when you were done with work that day right?"

"When did you start acting so cold to me princess?"

"First of all I'm not your princess, and secondly it was the day I found out you've been lying to me all this time. Last night I almost believed it. I almost believed that you genuinely wanted me and that maybe you've changed, but no now I really you're a selfish greedy bastard!" Even though I know all of that to be true I still want him. I don't care about the consequences, all I want right now is to be selfish and keep him to myself. So I turn towards him and look deep into his eyes.

"Cole...I..." He places his hand on my cheek and brings me closer.

"Yes Alessandria?" Just like that everything fades away. All of my insecurities and all of my doubts, it's almost like I forgot everything that happened. Then right before I kiss him the phone rings and to my surprise it's not Cole's phone. When I check mine I realize it's Chloe and I suddenly get brought back down to earth, and I quickly answered the phone.

"Alessandria! I was wondering if you'd taken lunch yet and if not then good because I'm here! I'm taking the elevator and I'll be there in 5 minutes." s**t s**t s**t!! No no no!! This cannot be happening! Cole is literally holding me in my arms and we are both naked while my office is in a wreck with things everywhere! I'm so f****d!
