Meeting Lila

Amelia POV

I could not wait to get out of that throne room. Walking in there and smelling him then seeing him with another woman. That, it k.illed something inside of me. It made me so angry that I wanted to rip her head off right there and then but i could not, in respect of the King. Also because it is our first time here, so i could not mess this us for us. I had to make an impression so being emotional is not an option right now. "It does not make sense. He looks too damn young to be that wolf" Chad says from behind me and I turn around to look at him. "What do you mean"? I ask and he crosses his arms.

"I mean, he looks to young to be the one that m.urdered our parents and why does he feel the pull to you"? He asks, clearly confused with everything that is going on. But he is wrong, Aiden is not the one that orphaned us. "John Blackheart" I tell him and he stares at me wide eyed. "My mate's father is the one that made us orphans. John Blackheart is the one we are looking for" I explain, trying as hard as I can to breathe and calm myself down as best as I can in this situation. I sit on the bed and take a few deep breaths but they are not helping. Even my wolf keeps whimpering with her back turned on me. Even though I know she is not mad at me, I can't help but feel upset for her. I know how much she wants a mate.

"This whole thing is fxcked up. Why would the Goddess play this kind of a trick on us? Why are you mated to the son of the man we are supposed to k.ill"? Chad asks dropping himself next to me. "I don't know. All I know is that there is more to this. I can feel it, something huge is still going to happen but i do not even know what" I tell him. And i am not lying to him. I feel like something else is going to happen and I really feel anxious.

'It wasn't him' Kara says leaving me confused. 'What do you mean' I ask her and she sits up. 'The wolf we saw when we arrived. It was not Aiden's wolf' She says and I am shocked. I really thought it might be him, considering how I felt a pull to the wolf, next thing I find my mate. But Kara saying it wasnt him clearly means something is wrong here. Why on earth would I be attracted to a wolf that isn't my mate? 'Oh so now you want to admit you are attracted to him'? Kara taunts me with a wolfie smirk. She likes being right and I hate it. Even though she is the same as me.

'Yes. I admit there was something about him that...intrigued me. Happy now'? I admit to her in defeat and she wiggles her tail happily. "You and Kara done yet? You are literally shutting me out amd clearly you are distressed" Chad says next to me and I suddenly feel bad for forgetting about him. "I am sorry. We were just talking about....don't think I'm weird or anything but, when we got Here. There were wolves in training, one of them intrigued me. I thought he would be my mate but Kara says Aiden is not the one we saw, meaning, I took a liking to someone who is not my mate" I explain and watch as Chad's face grows more and more confused.

He stands up and paces up and down. "Something is up and we need to find out what it is and soon. You can never feel some sort of connection with a wolf you are not connected to somehow" he says placing his hands on his waist and raises an eyebrow. He is right, something bigger is going on and we need to find our what. A knock on the door disturbs us and we both look at each other before Chad calls for whoever it is to come in. A girl walks in and by her scent and aura, she is an omega. She has short black hair, hazel eyes and the most flawless brown skin. "I'm sorry to disturb Alpha, but I have been assigned to assist you with anything you need as Miss Matilda had to attend to other matters" she says facing the floor with her neck slightly bared.

"What is your name"? Chad asks and she quickly answers. "My name is Lila, Alpha" she says to Chad and he chuckles. "Oh no, I'm Beta Chad. This is Alpha Amelia" he says and she audibly gasps and gets down on her knees in front of me. "I am so sorry Alpha. Its just, his aura, he felt like he was Alpha. Please forgive me" she says and i get down to try and lift her back up. "It's okay Lila, you are not the only one who thinks Chad is the Alpha here. Its okay, please get up" I tell her, trying to be as soft as I can and she gets up shaking. "You do not have to be so scared of her, she is actually pretty nice" Chad says with a teasing smile and that seems to help Lila calm down a bit.

"Alright. Now that's out of the way, let's freshen up and go to the dinner yeah"? I say and she nods and says, "Yes Alpha. I assume you will not be changing the dress"? I look at the dress I'm wearing and shake my head. "No. I'm changing this" I say and Chad nods. "Yeah, let's wear something more, comfortable. I will just take this off flipping suit off" he says and I cross my arms. "You are keeping the shirt and pants on, everything else, you can take off. Just unbutton the top two buttons and that is it" I tell him and he rolls his eyes. "Whatever" he says walking out. Lila looks at the door and then back to me, she looks as though she wants to say something but stops herself. "Talk" I say and she plays with her fingers.

"Are you two...together"? She asks and quickly slaps her mouth. "Why would you think that"? I ask her and she shakes her head. "No Alpha I am so sorry, I should have not asked you that" she says and I laugh at her. "No need to apologize Lila. I like the fact that you can speak to me. No Chad and I are not together, we are basically brother and sister" I explain and she nods. "Explains why you are so comfortable with each other. I have never seen an Alpha and Beta who get along so well" she says and that makes me wonder. What kind of relationships do Alphas have with their Betas? Curious as i am, i choose to let it go and freshen up.

I put on a short sleeve black pleated dress that is tight around the chest and flows from under the b.reast and reaches my knees. I put a shawl over my shoulders and tie my hair in a pony tail. As soon as I finish, I leave the bathroom to find Lila waiting for me on the bed and she stands up as I get out. "You look really nice Alpha" she says with a small smile and I smile back at her. "Shall we"? She asks and I follow her out. "Have you seen Chad"? I ask her and she nods. "He left a few minutes ago, he said we would find him in the dining hall" she says softly. I decide to take this opportunity to make conversation with her.

"How old are you"? I ask her and she stops walking and looks at me with curious eyes. "Oh don't get me wrong, i'm just trying to make conversation and find out more about you that is all" I tell her and she nods. "I'm 26 years old" she says and now it is my turn to be stunned. "You are 5 years older than me" I tell her and her eyes widen. "How are you Alpha at such a young age"? She asks and I can feel her calming down and loosening up. "Long story. Plus we are talking about you here. If you tell me about You, when we get the chance to talk again, I tell you about myself" I tell her and she seems to be thinking about it. "Alright. I'm 26 and I live with my younger sister in our small cottage. We are both omega and she just turned 20. Our parents died a few years ago in an attack on our pack and we came here seeking refuge" she explains with a smile.

"Same thing happened to me and Chad. Our parents were m.urdered 10 years ago" I tell her and she looks at me sadly. I try changing the topic so we don't talk about our parents and open old wounds. "Are you mated"? I ask her and she starts blushing. "No. But i know he is out there somewhere. My sister is gifted with the ability to see the future, so she told me my mate is somewhere out there. I just have to find him" she says happily. Everyone is always so excited to find their mates, except for me. Well my mate has already chosen someone else so no point in that. "Well I believe your mate will be the luckiest man alive and I would really like to meet your sister some time before we head back to our pack" I tell her and she nods excitedly.

"Well we are here Alpha. Thank you for talking to me. It really feels nice to have someone interested in talking to me rather than giving orders" she says with a radiant smile. For some reason, I really like her. I feel like she and I are going to be the greatest of friends. "Of course Lila. You know, I don't really have friends so I like talking to you" I tell her honestly. And i really mean it. I love Chad, but I can't have girly talks with him and the rest of my pack fears and respects me as their Alpha so they don't really become my friends. "Well Alpha, I would love to be your friend" she says and I am about to answer her when my phone rings with Eric's name flashing. "Let me take this please" I tell her and she nods.

'Hey. How is everything going'?

'Good actually. Everyone is behaving. How was the meeting'?

'It went great. I found what I was looking for and everything seems to be going well for now. I am headed to a dinner the King is hosting so I can't talk long'.

'Alright that's amazing. I was just checking in with you guys. Have a great dinner yeah'?

I hang up the phone to find Lila staring at me longingly. "Are you okay"? I ask her and she nods. "Who was that? His voice is really nice" she says and i smile at her. "That was Eric. My gamma" I tell her and she smiles. "Eric. That's a really beautiful name and his voice was really beautiful too" she says and Kara giggles in my head. 'Oh oh. I think I know what's going on' She says and I think I may know what she means and I agree with her.
