Aspen

Amelia POV

I roll in bed as I try to wake up, hitting my head on the headboard, groaning in pain. "You okay"? Someone says in a deep groggy voice. I sit up quickly to see Aiden sitting on the floor in a blanket. "Yeah I'm fine" I tell him as I stretch my arms. "Were you comfortable there"? I ask him, feeling a little guilty I let him sleep on the floor. He came in here in the middle of the night and asked to sleep here. "Well your carpet is thick enough and your scent is kinda amazing so yeah.." he says but groans as he stretches himself. "You are a bad liar Aiden" I tell him and he smiles, showing his little dimple.

"Wanna shower first"? I ask him and he shakes his head. "After you" he says as I get up from my bed and head into the bathroom. I take a shower quickly and wrap myself in a towel, getting out if the bathroom to find Aiden picking up his blankets from the floor. My bed is already made and he is clearing the floor now. "Where do I put....." he stops speaking and stares at my legs. "Wow" he whispers softly licking his lips. "I'm sorry, I forgot to take clothes before heading into the shower" I say, feeling my cheeks burn up in embarrassment.

He does not respond to that and just stares at me. "Aiden"? I call to him and he shakes his head. "Sorry I couldn't help it. I will leave you to it" he says and heads in the bathroom quickly shutting the door. I search for something to wear and find a pair of jeans and a crop top, putting on a pair of black converse sneakers. Aiden gets out as I put on my shoes and bends down to help me. "You don't have to do that" I say and he looks up to me smiling. "You are my mate. It is my duty to serve you" he say and then ties up my shoes.

He takes a brush and brushes my hair from the back and then ties it into a low pony tail. "You look pretty" he says and kisses my head. "You ready to go"? He asks and I nod, unable to get any words out. We leave the bedroom and head downstairs to the dining room. Everyone stops eating to stare at us and only then I realize that we are holding hands. I quickly pull my hand from him as Jake starts laughing. "What did you two do last night"? Chad asks, fistbumping Jake and Eric.

"What's for breakfast"? I ask changing the topic and Alpha Killian chuckles. "Everything is here, choose what you want to eat. Stop teasing the poor kids you two" he says to the two betas and they immediately stop laughing. "Where is Melissa"? I ask and Aiden stops in his tracks. "She left this morning when she realized that Alpha d.ickhead slept in your room" Annabel says, almost jumping for joy. "Since when am I Alpha d.ickhead"? Aiden asks and everyone bursts out laughing. "Since forever" Alpha Killian says chuckling and Aiden sulks and pulls a chair for me.

"Can we eat please? We have a lot to discuss" Annabel says and the whole table goes sour. We eat and the kitchen staff clears the table before leaving us alone. "Something happened last night" Chad says and all the attention turns to him. "Annabel saw something in her dreams but she has not told me what" he says shrugging. "There was some sort of a meeting with a few key people there. Everyone there was standing in a circle holding hands and a ball of blue mist appeared in the middle before exploding, illiciting a shift in Chad and Amelia. Chad had horns coming out of his forehead and Amelia had a half shift" she explains calmly.

Everyone stares at her but no one says a word and I decide to ask. "Who are these key people"? She scratches her head and says,"Alpha Aiden, Alpha William, Beta Jake, Chad, his biological parents and your third mate, along with you of course". Chad turns to look at her, "My biological parents? What makes you so sure it was them"? He asks and she tilts her head and smiles innocently. "I just know" she says and he nods.

"I guess this means we need to find everyone then" Alpha Killian says with finality in his voice. "I'll get Jay to start searching for your parents" Eric says. "Who is Jay"? Aiden asks and I turn to look at him. "Jay Forester is our best tracker. If anyone will find Chad's parents, its him" i tell him and he nods. "I need to go" Chad says getting up from his seat and running out and Annabel runs after him.

"Alpha, there is a crazy a.ss giant wolf coming" Jay says as he comes in. We all rush out to see who it is when Aspen appears running towards us. He stops right in front of me and he sits down but does not shift back. 'Get on his back' Kara says before retreating to the back of my mind. I look at Aiden before going to climb on Aspen's back and he takes off running at full speed. He goes into the middle of the forest and stops there, going down just enough for me to climb off of him. I stand there looking at him before he starts licking my face and I run a hand through his fur.

I start to feel someone trying to link me and I let them, before hearing a foreign voice in my head. 'Hello little one' he says scaring me. 'My name is Aspen, your mate' he says, and I sigh in relief. 'Hello Aspen' I say to him and he...purrs? I laugh at him and he growls playfully. 'I am sorry little one. I should have stopped him from taking that girl as a chosen mate. He should have waited' he says, his voice pained. I step closer to him and hug his big neck, kissing his head.

I get a mindlink from a panicked Eric. 'Alpha. I am sorry to disturb. But we can't find Chad' he says. "Aspen, we need to go. My beta is missing" I say to the large wolf in front of me and he goes down enough for me to climb and he starts running as soon as I grab onto his fur. 'Mate. You and Kara have my love and loyalty. I will never accept any female if she is not you' Aspen says to us making Kara jump around in happiness. Aspen stops in front of the pack house and I jump off him. He bows down in front of me before his eyes start changing color and shifts back to William.

He stands there looking at me and around confused as Jake runs out of the house with shorts and a t-shirt for him. He puts them on before turning to look at me angrily. "What happened? Why the hell am I here"? He asks and Jake tries to calm him down. "Dude, calm down. You got here yourself in wolf form" he tells him. "What did you do you witch? You poisoned my wolf didn't you"? He says grabbing me by the neck and choking me. I try to fight him off but he is too strong for me. Jake pulls him while I feel Aiden grabbing me from behind.

Aiden puts me on the ground and starts punching William. "Jake stop him"! I scream but Jake just looks at me and does nothing. Eric and Alpha Killian come out of the house running and they pull Aiden off William. Aiden has blood all over him and none if it is his. William's face looks like it has been reconstructed, his lips busted and his right eye is so swollen, he can barely open it.

William tries fighting back but It takes about 15 warriors to separate the two Alphas and an Alpha command from Alpha Killian before they stop fighting. "What on earth is going on"!? Alpha Killian asks, clearly angered and Jake is the one that answers him. "Your son here was choking Amelia because he thinks she did something to him. And he called her a witch, which she is but he said it to offend her" he explains with a shrug. "William"? His father calls to him and he does not respond. "This witch did something to me father. I want her to undo it" he says with gritted teeth.

"Why would I do anything to you"? I ask and he glares at me. "Fine. I will fix it then" he says and my heart starts pounding with fear. "I, Alpha Prince William Augustus, reject you, Alpha Amelia Shadow as My mate and other half" he says staring me right in the eye. "I, Alpha Amelia Shadow accept your rejection, William Augustus" I say back to him and he widens his eyes before slouching and groaning and screaming in pain. I wait for the pain to hit, but nothing happens.

"Can we go and find Chad please"? I say, paying no attention to the screaming man in front of me. "As much as I would love to come with Alpha, i have matters that need attending to, that need me to go back home" Alpha Killian says, gesturing to his son. "I understand Alpha" I say with a bow to him. "A moment please Alpha" Jake says, stopping Alpha Killian. "I, Jake Adams renounce my title as future Royal Beta and request the King give me permission to stay and serve as a warrior for Shadow Pack" Jake says and the King nods. "Your request is granted" he says to Jake and Jake bows to him.

"You can't do this to me. I am your best friend" William says grunting in pain. "I just did" Jake says before turning to me,"Where do we start looking for Beta Chad, Alpha"?

William POV

She is not in pain. Why am I the only one suffering? She is going as if this is not painful. Shouldn't she be writhing in pain the same as me? She is turning everyone against me. First my father and now my best friend? 'She did nothing to you or anyone else. You rejected her, and now you are paying for it' Aspen says coldly. 'You are my wolf. You are supposed to be on my side' I tell him and he pays no attention to that. 'Let me know when you are ready to be an Alpha King and a good mate to them' Aspen says before disappearing. I start to feel empty inside, like I'm alone. 'Aspen'? I call to him but no response. No. He can't leave me.
