Jonathan POV

I dust myself off after getting up from the ground from a fall. One of my trainees kicked me in the gut when I was not paying attention to the fight we are having. My wolf has been very restless these days and I do not know why. I have been having a lot of sleepless nights and now it's all taking it's toll on me. "Alright you kids should get some rest now" I say to the group of teenagers in front of me. "Actually, I think you need the rest more than we do" one of the boys says.

They have noticed and that is the last thing I wanted to happen. "Jonathan"! Head warrior Robert calls me. The man has never liked me because my mother is omega. He is even gone to the lengths of calling me a weakling because I tested Omega, just like my mother and not Alpha like my father. "Yes"? I respond with an eyeroll. "You are driving my son to town to get some....supplies. Get the truck ready" he says dismissing me. Something is about to happen, this is why I am being sent away. Every time something big or someone important comes to the pack I get sent away.

I always wondered why...until I overheard a conversation about how they do not want people to wonder why an omega like me has the build of an Alpha. The only upside to all of this is that I am going with Ethan, who even though his father hated me, has always treated me like an actual person. Not even my brother likes me, he was always distant while we were growing up. Everything became worse when he shifted and was announced to be the next Alpha of Moon Stone Pack.

I think my father is worse. He only keeps me around because I'm one of the best trackers he has in this pack. If there is anyone John Blackheart cares About, it is John and Aiden Blackheart. Not me. Aiden was groomed from a child to be a great leader and no one ever remembered I existed. I doubt my father even knows how old I am. "Hey Jon, you ready to go"? Ethan asks and I nod, climbing in the truck and driving off. "Did you hear? Aiden and Justin are coming back. And they are bringing friends" Ethan says excitedly.

"No I heard nothing. What friends"? I ask and he shrugs. "From another pack. I'm not sure who they are though" he says typing away in his phone. I want to ask more questions but I don't. Even my wolf is paying more attention to what Ethan is saying. For some reason, this feels important to us. "So what supplies are we getting"? I ask Ethan and he pulls out a long list and I sigh in defeat. This is going to be a long day.

Amelia POV

We have been driving for about 7 hours and I can finally see a few patrollers moving around what I assume to be the border of Moon Stone Pack. Jake and I are riding with two warriors and we are behind Aiden's car. They stop near the warriors briefly before driving off again. As I can see the buildings in front of us, I start to feel uneasy. Something is going to happen and I already have an idea what it is.

Aiden parks outside a Modern styled house that resembles a castle, except it is not as humongous as an actual castle. Outside of the house, stands a guy who looks to be around our age with an older man that looks very p.issed off. We have not even gotten out of our cars and we already have someone who is angry waiting for us. 'Be careful of those two' Kara says before disappearing on me. I decide to link Jake, to make sure no one hears what I say to him. 'Kara says to be careful of those two' I tell him and he turns to look at me, shock evident in his eyes before he masks it and nods.

We climb out of the cars and walk up to the men waiting for us. "Aiden my boy. How was your trip"? The older man asks and Aiden gives the man a hug. "It was good uncle. How is everything here"? He says back to the man but does not get a response back. Their eyes glaze over and I realize they must be mindlinking. While I choose to look away from the two, I come face to face with the younger one of the men, who is giving me a look that's between displeased and angry, making me wonder who the guy is.

"Father, is my Aiden back yet"? Melissa shouts running from inside the house and I curse myself for not realizing this sooner, this is the beta that was with John Blackheart when he k.illed my family and he is Melissa's father. The other one is obviously her brother. She tries to hug Aiden and he pushes her away, sporting a disgusted look on his face. She stares at him shocked and he ignores her, coming closer to me instead. "Uncle, this is Alpha Amelia Shadow. My mate and this is Jake Adams, her good friend. This is my uncle, Chris Jones" Aiden says introducing us.

"Right. Very well then, Melissa has missed you boy. Spend time with her while I show your friends around" the man says and I can see his children smirk while Aiden clenches his jaw. "No. I will show them around" he says grabbing my hand and pushing right through them, heading inside the house. On the inside, the house is decorated in antiques but in a very modernized manner. "Good afternoon Alpha. I will show your guests to their rooms, if you will let me" a woman says approaching us. This is the second time today the people here do not acknowledge us, what kind of pack is this?

"Which rooms have you prepared for my guests"? Aiden asks and she smiles, but looks a bit confused. "The guest rooms in the guest floor Alpha" she explains and Aiden stares at her so intently, she bares her neck in submission. "They will be staying on my floor. The warriors can have the guest rooms" Aiden says leaving no room for argument. "Right away Alpha" the woman says before walking away. Aiden shows us to our rooms and it does not go unnoticed that he placed me in a room right across from his.

'These people are weird. What ever happened to manners'? Jake asks through the mind link. 'There is something with this pack and I'm planning on finding it. Just do not forget to link me if you see anything. Some things we cannot say out loud' I tell him before closing the link. "Aiden"? I call as I knock on his bedroom door. I know he is in here but I don't know why he can't hear me. "What do you want"? Someone says from behind me. I turn around to see Melissa's brother standing there leaning against the wall staring at me.

'How come we did not hear him come'? Kara asks, suddenly getting defensive. "I did not hear you come up" I say to him and he smirks and I do not quite like the look on his face. "That's because I did not want you to. Now answer me, what do you want"? He says, even his tone changing and I can hear a hint of annoyance in it. "I'm looking for Aiden" I say and he chuckles dryly. "What do you want here? Why didn't you stay in your stupid pack"? He asks impatiently. "Excuse me"? I say and he smiles and if I didn't know better, I would think he wants to k.ill me right here and now.

"If you do not stay away from Moon Stone and Aiden, I will personally make you" he says walking up to me. If I were any other person, I would probably be scared s.hitless right now but he does not scare me. "Touch her and I will personally end your life" Aiden says from behind me. He pulls me by the waist and holds me possessively. "Amelia is my mate and will be regarded as such. Anyone who has a problem with that will have to deal with me. Do you understand me Christian"? he says to his beta and the latter clenches his jaw staring at me. The look on his face a warning but it does not scare me. He can bring it on.

"We should go and have something to eat" Aiden says pulling me and I walk with him. "Did I hear something about food"? Jake says rushing out of his room bumping into Christian on the way. Anyone with eyes can see it was not a mistake and as p.issed as Christian is, he does nothing about it. We go to the dining room, where John Blackheart is sitting with his beta and his daughter aka Melissa. "Father" Aiden says and the man just nods ti his son. "Alpha Amelia, what an honor to have you in our pack, i hope you have been welcomed well"? John says and I fake a smile. "Yes Alpha. We have received quite the welcome" I tell him and he nods, clearly understanding the underlying meaning of my words.

Aiden pulls a chair for me, sitting on my right, placing him on his father's left. Jake sits on my left and Christian walks in with Justin. Their kitchen staff brings in the food and we all dish up for ourselves and everyone digs in. "So Amelia, how old were you when your parents passed"? John asks me and I tilt my head looking at him. If he won't use my title then I most certainly use his. "Well John, my parents were m.urdered when I was 11 years old" I say and he nods, a creepy smile on his face.

"You are 21 now and already an Alpha"? He says, clearly amused and Jake snorts. "She was born Alpha" Jake says with a shrug. "Yes you are right. You look just like your mother Amelia. She was a very beautiful woman. Intelligent as well" John says longingly. He is clearly reminiscing, what is his connection to my parents and why did he k.ill them? "You seem like you knew them well. Can you tell me what you remember about them"? I ask,waiting for his reaction and his face lights up like a child in a candy store.

"Your mother, Meredith, was a simple yet elegant lady. She was so beautiful that the room would go silent whenever she walked in. She was very smart as well. I have no idea what she was thinking choosing Drake". I watch John's face as he talks, noticing how he is happy to talk about my mother but mentioning my father's name, he acts as though he is spitting out p.oison. "Were you and Alpha Shadow close"? Jake asks and John glares at him, one would think Jake said something offensive.

"No. No Alpha becomes close with another, unless they have a common enemy" John says and Jake eyes him suspiciously but says nothing further. "Amelia, you remind me of your mother so much. She and I were close you know? As thick as thieves, until she marked and mated with your father" he explains with a smile. "Was she also a man-eating s.lut"? Melissa asks with malice in her voice and John turns to her angrily. "DONT YOU DARE SPEAK OF MEREDITH IN THAT MANNER"! He says banging his fists on the table. Everyone looks at him in shock and confusion and he calms himself down before apologizing.

"Forgive me. Meredith was such a good person, I do not want anyone to speak ill of her " he explains but I do not buy it. 'Something is definitely up here. And I'll find it' Jake says and I agree with him. There is more to this than meets the eye. "Do you have any idea who k.illed them"? Aiden asks and I squeal in happiness in the inside because this is the one question I needed someone to ask. "No. But I do plan on finding them" I say as innocently as I can, dropping my head feigning sadness. From the corner of my eye, I can see John trying to hide the smile on his face. You will regret doubting my intelligence Mr Blackheart.

Jonathan POV

I finally park the truck in the garage and I jump out, Ethan in tow. "I think we should move these in the morning"? Ethan says, pointing at the 'supplies' his father sent us to get. Which happen to be a bunch of useless things if you ask me. "Yeah sure. I need a shower and my bed right now" I tell him walking to the pack house. Phoenix is suddenly alert and fully up from his slumber. 'What's up man'? I ask him and he jumps up and down. 'She is here. I can feel her' he says making me halt.

He cannot be saying what I think he is. 'Phoenix. Who is here'? I ask and he wiggles his tail. 'Find her' he says and I pay more attention to my surroundings. There are a lot of different scents in the air, some of which I do not recognize but one scent stands out and I follow it up the stairs. The scent leads me to my brother's floor and I dread the worst. She can't be in his floor, it means she is important and special. She won't want me.

I keep following the scent to a room, right across my brother's room. My hearts starts beating faster, my shaking hands feel sweaty and I contemplate knocking but before I can raise my hand to knock,the door opens, revealing a sinfully beautiful woman. Her brown eyes looking at me in what seems to be shock and relief. "Hi" She says in an angelic voice. I try opening my mouth to speak but no words come out of my mouth. I close my eyes, taking a deep breath before opening them again. She is still standing there, watching me.

I try speaking again and the only thing that can come out is, "You look so beautiful". I curse myself the minute those words come out of my mouth but she starts laughing. "Do you want to come in"? She asks and I nod too quickly. She walks back inside the room and I walk in right behind her, standing on front of the door, in case she tells me to leave. "My name is Amelia Shadow" she says and I nod. My neck will probably hurt with the way I keep nodding.

"I am...Jonathan Blackheart" I tell her and she smiles at me. "Would you like to sit and talk Jonathan? There is a lot you need to know" she says and I look around for something to sit on while she pats the spot next to her on the bed.I close the door and walk over to sit, hoping I don't mess this up.

Unknown POV

'She looks so delicious doesn't she'? My wolf,Scout says. 'Yes she does. I want her' I tell him. I don't care how many mates she has, the girl is mine. 'She is ours. Do not mess up this time' Scout says and I nod. No one besides me will have her. No one.
