Chapter 4

Missy

Today was a tiring day, not only did we go in to finish our employment paperwork, but Helen also gave us the start to our training and since we picked up quick she let us cover a few tables to get our feet wet working there. Lacy and I were thankful we chose to wear comfortable shoes. While we were working Lacy and I had fun getting to know some of the customers as Helen introduced us. We were finishing up our shift when Helen introduced me to a customer that was a decent looking guy, he had kind eyes and an addictive smile and I could also smell he was a wolf. “Missy, I want to introduce you to the owner’s right hand man Aiden. He came here to meet you and Lacy, I am going to grab her quickly, have a seat and I will be right back.”

I sat down and I ran my hand through my hair and then looked at him, “Look I didn’t realize we were near a pack, we can leave if you need us too because we don’t want to cause any problems.” He sat back and continued to smile throughout my rant and when I was done he held up his hands. “You don’t need to leave Missy, I have already gotten your story from Daryl when I talked to him at the bar regarding a job. You may all still need to come in and meet my Alpha still, but based on what I have heard so far you don’t need to worry.” As he was speaking I saw him eyeing around me and sniffing, I gazed around to see what he was smelling.

“Is something wrong, are you smelling something I am not picking up on?” He continued to look around ignoring my question, he stood up and was gazing around when suddenly I heard from behind me “Mate” and I turned around to see Lacy walking towards Aiden as he recited the same. I smiled happy my friend found her other half and I only hoped that he treated her well because Lacy deserved nothing but the best. I stood up, “I’m going to give you both some time to get to know each other and then we can continue our conversation.” He just nodded as he stared into her eyes, I slipped away smiling to myself.

Lacy

Helen came up to me as I was waiting on a table, “Lacy honey, I need you to go over and join Missy at one of the front tables she is meeting with the owner’s assistant. I will cover the tables for a while while you talk to him. I just nodded and walked to the front area and as I got closer I started to smell a sandalwood scent that was driving me crazy. I picked up my pace and rounded the corner to see Missy next to the most gorgeous man I have ever seen. As we both recognized each other as mates and I saw my friend slip away, he pulled me over to the table and sat next to me instead of across from me. My name is Aiden and I am the beta for the Red Moon pack, what is your name mate?”

“My name is Lacy, and we were former members of the White Moon pack.” As I sat there with my newly discovered mate he shared that he became aware of us when Daryl applied for the job at the bar and his Alpha wanted him to find out about us since he owned most of the businesses in the human town. As he talked to me he was holding my hand and telling me that as far as he was told we should be fine and we will probably need to meet the Alpha. I was kind of nervous because the only Alpha’s I have ever dealt with was Billy and his late father Hayden. As if feeling my discomfort, “You don’t have to worry about my Alpha, he is a good guy and he just wants to make sure there is no one here that could cause his pack any problems. Besides your my mate, I know the goddess would never pair me with someone that would betray my pack.”

“I would never betray my mates pack nor my old pack, I am just here to support my friend since she was betrayed. Daryl and I could not imagine watching her leave the pack with no one to look out for her or support her.”

“You are a good friend Lacy, I admire how much you both are looking out for your friend. We will help look out for your friend as well, from what Daryl told me she was betrayed by her mate, the beta of the pack, and one of her best friends. From the little bit I have learned about her and from briefly meeting her, she deserved much better.” I was thankful that he was able to pick up on that from his own observations.

“You are correct Aiden and I appreciate that you see all of this, that is why I hope you will understand that I have to be there for my friend right now. I accept our bond but I need to be there for my friend right now while she is trying to start fresh. This doesn’t have to stop us from getting to know each other by spending time together.” He pulled me closer to him as I was speaking, almost as if he couldn’t stand the thought of us being too far apart.

“As much as I hate the thought of being away from you, I admire the loyalty you have for your friend. I hope you don’t mind, but I plan on spending as many nights as I can sleeping next to you as I can. I will be going back to talk to my Alpha after this, his name is Kade Stone. I will be telling him your stories and that you are my mate. I hope you understand this will be making you our packs beta female? I will probably be in touch tomorrow to line up a meeting with you all and Alpha Stone.”

I know that now that our presence has been made aware to a local pack that we will have to meet, I just hope that it goes well for my friends. Missy came back to our table and we continued the conversation with the three of us. When Aiden left Missy pulled me into a hug telling me she was happy for me, I just hope that it works out for the three of us. Helen had given Aiden our paperwork for his Alpha to look over so we expected contact very soon.
