Goodbye

Travis I made it to my father’s room in the clinic. For the doctor has mind-link me with an update on father’s health. He wasn’t doing better and we all knew that. There was nothing we can do for when he came in, he had too much wolfsbane in his system. It was a death trap, that’s what the doctor called it. Walking up to my father’s room I ran into the doctor. She was just leaving the room. “Is he awake doctor?” I asked her. “Yes Alpha.” I open the door and headed towards father’s bed. I pull a chair closed by and took a seat. Taking in a deep breath I try to calm my body down. My whole nerve system going crazy, knowing what’s to occur. I said nothing as I lay back with my legs cross and hands together. “Well hello to you too boy?” I simply nod at him. He rolls his eyes at annoyance. “Did you come to just watch me die in silence?” “What do you expect from me father, to weep? We all know you’re dying, and you have only yourself to thanks.” Showing minimum to no emotions towards him. “A little grief will simplified,” he hid a smirk. It was like he believes he still holds all the power. Even in his death bed he expects more from everyone, mostly me. I was tired of this mischief, f**k him. I’m Alpha now, I have the title, the power, the pack, the money, I have it all. “I have already cried out all my sorrows for both parents a long time ago.” Keeping my guard up. “Don’t expect a tear.” “Then why are you here for son?” Turning his head to stare back at me. I sharpen my eyes at him, as if he doesn’t already know why I came to his bedside. “Two reason really.” He oohh’s with high eyebrows. “One: A son stays at his father’s side no matter what Alpha. Two: You said you know another war will occur. I came for your explanation.” I say. He lays back in his bed as his face relax. He clears his throat before speaking. “I see the doctor told you about my episodes.” Grabbing the remote for the tv and begin flipping through channels. Like I didn’t just ask for an explanation from his old, dying, cripple ass. The repeated sound, click, click, click of the buttons pound in my temples. As my eyes flick a color I stand on my feet heavily. Getting father’s attention as he frown at us. “Episodes! Your heart is giving up father, you are near death! Do you not know what this mean!” Curling my hands into a fist. “You can go at any second now, dead, gone, vanish, cease to exist! That’s why I took over as Alpha, this is no longer a teaching lesson! You are dying so stop acting like you’re not!” Father let out a deep breath. “Of course I know that. I know i’m dying boy. But I am not gonna sit here like the fragile Alpha I am. I will fight, no I am fighting until my body gives up. So amuse me if you will.” His eyes glow for bit telling me he meant what he says. I ran my hand roughly over my face as I take father’s last command. And I sit back down on my chair and lean with my elbows. “Go on and explain to me, about this war?” “You recall of my lady friend years ago?” My mind flash back to a woman my father claims he loved after mother but then one day their correlation ended. Only saw her for a very short time. Could have been a year I think. I’m not sure. I thought it ended for another to sleep with or something. I nod at him. “Well, the reason you no longer saw her was because she held a heir and I rejected her for not getting rid of it.” My expression went bold at him. “I explain that only you are to claim my title and she was not pleased. She yap yap about nonsense but I did connected back with her after the child was born.” I narrow my eyes at him. Why haven’t he told me about a half sibling before? “On my long trips. I helped raise the boy for a bit, but only for the fact I thought it may be good to have another son. But I was wrong, he was nothing like you. I didn’t want anything to do with him. I told them to forget me. And keep me anonymous. She claims I agree to combine our packs but I didn’t and that I love her. I only told her she’ll be Luna to keep her close but soon I got tired. Beside that their pack showed no thrive for me to take. I told her to keep her mutt and to not step foot near our pack. Unless she wants me to kill the boy. She never spoke to me again, but I know her very well and by our last argument I know she plans a revenge. I am just shock she hasn’t already.” He looks at me like all of this was nothing. Like it wasn’t a big deal, why the f**k hasn’t he told me about this before?! There’s seems to be so much more to it though. Can’t just be some petty s**t. There’s something he isn’t telling me. “Who else knows of this?” I ask, feeling betrayed for mother and I. “Only your former Beta and Gamma. I kept them close incase she and the boy tries to come for what is ours.” His eyes went cold. Would this woman really seek out for our pack? I never recall her being this way, only kind and sweet. I remember her treating me like her own son. “I tell you now son, because once she hears of my death. She may come for you, claiming for your title. Do not let that vine of a woman in. She is all curve of lies, a true vixen.” He grabs my arm with a strong hold. I strain a look at him. “Did you loved her?” His face narrow down when I ask the question that floats in my head. “I did, but not as near as I did your mother. No one can ever measure up to my dear Ana.” A smile let through as he says her name. “I had burn the world for my Ana, because she is worth it. That woman, that woman was not worth anything that I work so hard for.” He spoke in vine. “Was she your mate? Our just a good lay?” I didn’t know I ask until the words came out. “Your mother was my only true mate. I had needs and she did well.” Of course he had some kind of manipulation that played in this. There had to be another story behind this. Alphas are hound dogs, well wolves themselves are hound dogs. Some stay pure for their mates and others go out to explore around. I just never hear of lust to be so deep like father explains to me about this woman he speaks of. “Go to the study and look for a loose board by the fireplace. I have hidden a box with information on her, the boy, and their pack. Everything you need to know and prepare yourself for is in there.” I nod at him. “Anything else father?” There was nothing else I can ask. My mind still shock at the news of having a half brother somewhere out there. “No. No Alpha that was all, it was the one thing I kept hidden. And now at my last hour, I needed to pass it on to you.” He let go of my arm and lays back down proper. “You should rest father. Do not strain your mind and body no more. It is almost time.” I got up and fix his sheets for him. I was shock he did not slap my hand away for doing so. “I suppose you are right. My Ana awaits for me, and now I get to be with my mate again.” We both look at each other, as we let a small scoff out. “When you find your mate, protect her, love her, burn the world down for her. Do it all boy, the Goddess does not make a mistake when it comes to our mates. Do not make the same mistakes I made, cherish your mate even beyond death. Fight for her Travis, fight for her! Do not be the one to hurt her, hurt the ones who do to her.” This was like a whole other side of father that I had never seen before. He has let down his guards completely. And it only took his death to bring him here. Only a few more hours go by. And I sit close to father’s bed as I watch his chest rise and fall. They slowly get deeper and deeper as it gets harder for his body to fight. He sleeps as he takes away to his mind. Father had told me ever time he falls asleep he is put back in time where he is with mother again. He said it was a sign for him to go and be with her. Every dream gets more and more lucid each time. It made me feel good to see him so happy. He was finally getting what he wanted for years now. Even after all this time, he still truly loves his mate. That’s the love only I wish I can find one day. So unconditional love. Moments later his chest stops to rise and I hear him let out a deep sigh. His whole body goes limp. Before I can react the doctor comes in and silence the machine. Saying nothing to me but just a nod that says it all. We both stood there until she does her final exam and declares his death. “My true condolences Alpha.” I said nothing and nod to her as I got up from my chair and walk out. Leaving the last piece of my family behind now. The Next Day It was father’s funeral and close alliances Alphas and their Lunas had came to pay their respects. I welcomed each and all of them. Making sure to keep all our alliances in tack. I just hope one of them don’t try to pull some s**t last minute. I can’t handle an Alpha ego right now. I held all my feelings deep down, not letting anyone see them. The only person whom seen me in rage was my Beta Mason. After father’s last words I had spoke to my Beta and Gamma about his private affair and heir. They were just as shock as I was. I tell them to get a meeting with their formers. We needed to keep a look out for them incase they make an appearance today. “Alpha we are all ready outdoors for you.” Mason mind-link me. “I’m coming.” I mind-link back. I was in the study as I stare at the fireplace. Watching the flames dance around together, it was beautiful to see them dance in fury. My wolf Malcolm keeps nudging me to get the box from under the board and open it. But I couldn’t bare myself to do so. Even the Betas and Gammas has been telling me to do so. I just wanted to take one bullshit at a time. First his funeral then his secrets. I dress in an all black attire, with my hair pomaded silk back. I watch my figure in the mirror as I see the man before me. Seeing how in just a blink an eye I became the heir of the Black Harvest to being the Alpha. One miscounter change everything and now I am title to lead one of the largest pack in the world. I have to prove something of myself here on out. Showing all the other Alphas that I am not this child that’s playing a role. I am the Alpha and I will show everyone what an Alpha is. I am not going to let my guard down for anyone. Not even this day that they expect me to weep and mourn over the man I called father. The man who held a secret of another heir somewhere out there. Father got what he deserve. For him he did all the harm he lead for his true loving mate. Who can blame him for that. We all would go mad and vengeful for their death. “Let’s get this over with. Father is gone now, this is all ours.” Malcolm tells me. I nod my head and made my way out the pack house and met everyone outdoors in a open field where we held honorable funerals. My father was one of the most honorable man, yet to me he was the most foolish man as well. I stand tall and emotionless. My Beta and Gamma stand beside me as father’s closest friends speak of memories with the former Alpha. Speaking of all the time before I was born, on how powerful, wise, courageous man Fransisco Armani was. The stories went on and on and I got bored of them. Feeling only sympathy towards my father. “He lead one last erode. Setting all his conflict aside.” Malcolm spoke as he sit nicely and tuck his tail in. “Yeah but now he may of left me with his last war because of his stupidity.” I spit at annoyance. “Maybe so. But whom truly knows if the woman and son will come for us. Maybe he only speaks to test us one last time.” I narrow my look down as I know what Malcolm means. “Time will only tell. Whatever it is, we will not give up what we have. We will protect our people and kill anyone who chose to threaten their safety.” I smile to see Malcolm jump around in circles. Feeling tall himself. I was not sad nor heart broken this day. For I know this day may come, every time we go for battle I say a last goodbye prayer for everyone and myself. Therefore we do not know the reality outcome of the battle. It made the blood shed left behind with bodies over bodies a little easier for me. I look around the crowd to see the reactions of all Alphas and Lunas, Deltas and more. Seeing the lure effort my father had on them all. Then I saw a unfamiliar couple. I didn’t recognize seeing them when I welcome the other guest in. Seeing that the man was not a man but more of a boy. He stands tall next to the woman who weeps in quiet. She had a black veil over her face. She held a nice curve body even with a long flowery dress. I nog at my Beta. “Who is the boy and woman there?” Mason turn his head slightly to see whom I speak of. He made a smile curl his lip. “I assume they are extra guest. I welcome them in, they are mother and son from a far pack near the dark side forest. I figure their Alpha had came before them.” “Did they address themselves?” I snarl lowly. “No Alpha, I did not ask.” Mason look at me with a frown. He held his hands behind his back and straighten his back. “Would you like me to ask them after.” I shhh him as I keep an eye on the woman and boy, from the crowd. Trying to see who they are in connection to my father. As I watch how the woman weep as if her heart was rip out her chest. And the boy shows no emotion nor caring how heart broken his mother is before him. And then it hit me when I saw her lift her veil. “It’s them, they’re here.” I whisper and Mason turn his head at me with an confuse look. Rising an eyebrow at me. “I’m sorry Alpha, who is here?” He ask, as I nog a demeaning look at him. His face change as he figures out what I am saying. “Would you like me to do something about their presents Alpha?” “No, no, let them be. If they start a mess then I want you to take whatever action you see fits. Until then let them be, they are harmless mutts right now.” Mason nod with a yes Alpha and continue listening forward. I couldn’t keep my gaze away. Every where I look, I make it back to them. Seeing no change in their facial expressions. The boy stands tall as the woman seems frail at the touch. You would think a rage would come forward to the sight of them. But only the opposite occur, I see them as no threat. For right now they seem to only pay Fransisco last respect. As the funeral ends I stay and await for everyone to leave me be with my father’s body. My Beta and Gamma took action to direct everyone inside to have a warm meal before they leave. As the last bit of group leaves I turn to see the woman and boy was still standing there. “Address them.” Malcolm nudge his snot to me. “Ugh, I don’t want to do this today.” I look them up and down as I walk up to them. The woman lift her veil over her head as she wipe her puffy eyes. And the boy was well groom for his age. He seem too young. “He couldn’t be my half brother. Father only started seeing the woman once mother was dead.” “Maybe that was another secret he held. Maybe he had another life.” Malcolm stomping his paw hard on the ground. “No that can’t be Malcolm. My father loved my mother. He would of never betrayed her.” I denied that fact, my father wouldn’t risk losing mother over another woman. “We would only know if we ask or open the box!” He plead and I see what he’s trying to get at. Ignoring Malcolm’s comment as I thank the woman and boy for coming. “Your father was stubborn but I’m sure he fought until the very end. Did he not?” The woman asked. “He did.” I nod back at the woman who may be the mistress my father kept hidden all these years. We spoke for a short moment and I see my father meant a lot to her. And she did address the boy as her son. The boy says nothing as he only kept a straight face the whole time. “Was your father in any pain?” The woman ask. She gaze staying a sad madder. “Yes but he did not show it.” I wonder if it was truly her. I didn’t knew her for many years but she doesn’t seem like the woman I meet. Can it be her? “Ask and you’ll know!” Malcolm yelp. “I’m sorry Luna, I do not know your name? Where are you two from?” Her face change as I ask. As if I held no right to ask her. “My apologies Alpha Travis. I am Luna Syline and this is my son Devin. We are from the Phoenix Sons pack.” My eyes widen as she conforms their pack. “It’s them, it had to be them.” I agree with Malcolm now. it had to be them. “Where is your Alpha? I do not believe we have an alliance?” I flare my nose at her. Trying to keep all the madness inside me. “No Alpha, I lead the pack until my son Devin can take over.” She smile as she pats her son on the back. Feeling proud of him. “I see, well I do welcome you both to join the others inside to a nice meal. Maybe we can arrange a meeting and get on a good footing ground.” I let a warm smile out as I take her hand into mine and kiss it lightly. As I show kindness to the Luna the young heir boy let a low growl out. I chose to ignore him as I let a smirk his way. “Well thank you Alpha, we will be in contact soon.” We embrace a nice smile to each other as they both walk away towards the pack house. I watch them leave as I turn back to father’s body. Watching his lifeless body lay there in peace. After running into his second family that he hid. I slowly feel the rage to just set his body on fire. As I close my eyes and Malcolm let a small growl out in agreement. Telling me to do what feels right. The feeling of ending all of this, having to never deal of father’s i***t play boy mischiefs. So I grab a large candle that lay near a photo of father and lit the body of the man I once call father, the man who lead his pack to death for years because of grief. The man who was seen as an honorable Alpha, but as I know all of his lies I know he is nothing of those things. “You stupid, stupid f*****g man.” I growl in pain as my body tension up. “Rest in peace father, rest in peace with your mate.” You f*****g fool!
