“You haven’t had enough of me yet..!!!
When I’m done with you, you will carry your stupid self back to your father’s old house !!!!
Prince Thomberson’s face was devoid of emotion as he stared at the injured Eva, struggling on the floor. He could see the pain etched on her face, hear the anguish in her voice as she pleaded for help, but he felt nothing. No remorse, no guilt, just a cold indifference that chilled the room.
Prince: (his voice flat and emotionless) "I'm calling 911, but that's all I'm doing."
Without a backward glance, he left Eva alone in her pool of blood, her cries echoing off the walls as he made his way to the door. He could hear the desperation in her voice, the panic rising with every breath, but he ignored it, his mind focused on his own escape.
Eva: (her voice weak, filled with despair) "Please, Prince ... Don't leave me like this."
Her pleas fell on deaf ears, lost in the silence of Thomberson’s retreat. She was alone, vulnerable, and in more danger than ever before.
Eva: (her voice a mere whisper, tears streaming down her face) "Please, God... Help me..."
Eva's head throbbed as she regained consciousness, her vision blurry and unfocused. Fear and confusion gripped her as she was lifted onto a stretcher, the bright lights of the ambulance flashing around her. The paramedics worked quickly, their voices tight with urgency.
Paramedic 1: (alarm in his voice) "BP is dropping! We need to move fast!"
Paramedic 2: (focused and determined) "ETA to the hospital is 5 minutes."
When the meds left with Eva, the police approached Prince Thomberson to ask about what had happened to his wife.
Police: Hello sir
Prince: Hello, How can I help you?
Police: We were just wondering if we could get your statement about the incident that just happened to your wife.
Prince : (In an irritated tone) I already told the paramedics it was an accident, what else do you want to hear?
Police: We don’t mean any disrespect sir, we’re just following protocol.
Prince: I am the protocol around here, have you forgotten who you’re talking to!!. . . leave my house.
Police: (in a trembling tone) Sorry for the trouble sir, have a good day.
Days later, Eva laid in the hospital bed, her body weak and her heart heavy. She looked up as the door opened, revealing her best friend with a bouquet of flowers and a basket of fruit.
Melisa: (forcing a smile, her eyes filled with concern) "Hey, sweetie. How are you feeling?"
Eva: (weakly, her voice barely above a whisper) "I'm okay, I guess."
Melisa: (worry etched on her face) "Eva, I came as soon as I heard. Are you and the baby okay? What happened?"
Eva: (her voice weak, tears welling up in her eyes) "Prince ... he did this. I tried to tell him about the baby, and he... he pushed me."
Melisa gently placed the flowers and fruit on the table beside her bed, wrapping her in a comforting hug.
Melisa: (her voice filled with concern and anger) "Oh, Eva, I'm so sorry. You need to get out of there, get a divorce. You don't deserve this, and neither does your baby."
Eva leaned into the hug, drawing strength from her best friend's words and presence.
Eva: (subbing) my baby is gone Melisa
Melisa: What!!
Eva: (In a sad tone) Yes. . . I had a Miscarriage
Melisa: (tears filled up her eyes) oh I’m so sorry bestie.
She comforted her and they talked for a while, but Eva couldn't shake off the feeling that something was wrong.
Finally discharged from the hospital, Eva returned home. As she walked in, she heard strange noises coming from upstairs. She made her way up, her heart pounding in her chest, and pushed open the bedroom door.
Eva: (in shock, her voice trembling) "What the..."
Her husband and best friend were in bed together, their bodies entwined in a passionate embrace. Eva felt a mixture of anger, betrayal, and despair wash over her.
Eva stumbled downstairs, collapsing onto the couch as sobs racked her body. Minutes later, her husband and best friend appeared, their faces flushed and their clothes disheveled.
Eva: (confronting her best friend, her voice shaking with hurt) "How could you do this to me?"
Prince: (interrupting, his voice cold and uncaring) "Don't blame her. It's over between us. I want a divorce."
Eva: (her voice filled with painful subs) Even if we are over, Melisa is my best friend for goodness sake.
Melisa: (with a hint of malice, her eyes flashing with jealousy) "You always had everything, and I was jealous. I wanted what you had."
Just then, Prince shoved a piece of paper into Eva's hand.
Prince : (his voice hard and demanding) "Sign it. We’re over."
Eva reluctant to sign the divorce papers, her hands shaking, Prince pulled the paper from her hands.
Prince:(with anger in his tone) even if you don’t sign the papers, I would never have anything to do with a woman like you.
Minutes later, she found herself outside, her bags thrown onto the lawn, the cold night air biting at her skin. Eva felt utterly alone and betrayed, her world shattered by the actions of those she trusted most.
I curse the day you were born Prince, You’re just a bastard!!! My God will judge you..Eva spoke so bitterly as she left with her things_____
