The Mall

~ Allison’s POV ~

After lunch, I spent the rest of the day working on entering in the rest of the files. I got about halfway through them before dinner time. Alpha Malachi showed me where to put the files once they had been completed, so they weren’t just sitting in his office. The next few days went by pretty quick. Every day I got up early and went to training with the men of the pack. I was starting to make friends with most of them. I made it my goal to learn something new about at least 3 of the warriors. If I am going to stay and work as a warrior, then I will need to get to know them anyways. After breakfast, I would go to the Alpha’s office to help with the paperwork. It took me about two full days to get through all of the backed up paperwork. There were consistently 15-20 files coming in each day, which was easy to stay on top of once I got through the crazy stacks of files that were in his office on the first day.

It was finally the weekend, and Alpha Malachi told me to take the next two days off. I was excited to have nothing to do, but at the same time I wasn’t sure what was going to happen. I still got up early and headed to the training grounds, because I didn’t want to throw off my sleep schedule. Plus I figured with me not training much the last five years I needed the extra training to get into shape faster. As I walked towards the training grounds, I noticed that there was someone already there. It was Beta Matthew. Somehow it didn’t surprise me that he was here.

He saw me and said with a grin, “You know, you don’t need to be here this morning.”

I smiled, “I know, but I could use the extra practice. I am a little rusty.”

“True, you probably could use the practice.” he said teasingly.

I chuckled and replied, “Well, if that’s the case, then you won’t mind training me one-on-one.”

He laughed and said, “You don’t know what you are asking for. Let’s go.”

We started off going for a 5 mile run in human form, next we did another half-hour of exercises, and finally we did some sparring mixed with a little bit of grappling lessons. By the end of it I was exhausted, but a good kind of exhausted. I went and took a quick shower before getting breakfast.

When I got to breakfast, I noticed someone I had not met before. She looked about my age, and had beautiful brown hair that went halfway down her back. Her emerald green eyes reminded me of Alpha Malachi’s eyes. I decided to introduce myself. “Hi there, my name is Alley, what’s your name?”

She smiled and her eyes widened with excitement, “Alley? You wouldn’t happen to be the Allison that Malachi has been telling me about would you?”

I looked at her confused for a moment and shook my head. “Yes, I am Allison.”

“Eek!” She squealed. “I was hoping that I would run into you. My name is Mackenzie, I am Malachi’s younger sister!”

That’s why here eyes reminded me of Alpha Malachi’s eyes, they are related! To be honest I was kind of excited to meet her too. Something about her personality just clicked with mine and I could tell that we were going to be good friends.

“What are your plans for today?” she asked.

“I have no plans for today. I have today and tomorrow off.” I stated.

This seemed to please her. “Good, then you can accompany me to the mall. I want to get to know you better. It will be a fun girl’s day out. What do you say?”

I thought about it for a brief second and said, “That sounds like fun, but I don’t have any money.”

She looked at me confused. “You won’t have to worry about money silly. You’re with the Alpha’s sister. I will meet you outside in ten minutes.”

I finished my breakfast and headed outside. Mackenzie was already there with two other warriors. Mackenzie greeted me, “Hi Alley, are you ready to go? This is Alexander and David; they will be coming with us. Alpha’s orders.” She said while rolling her eyes. “Anytime I go into the city he makes me take at least two guards with me.”

I smiled and said hello to the two guards. I already knew who they were because I had been training with them the last few days. They both seemed relieved to see that I was coming with them. It took about an hour to get to the mall. Mackenzie spent the time asking me all kinds of questions. She wanted to know about my pack, my family and friends, and what it was like being on my own. I didn’t mind too much, because she told me a lot about her and Malachi growing up as well. By the time we got to the mall we were practically best friends.

“Your clothes look kinda plain. Are you still wearing the pack provided clothes?” Mack asked me. I glanced at my clothes, “Yes, but I don’t mind.”

“Let’s get you a whole new wardrobe then.” she said with a smile. She dragged me into a couple of smaller boutiques and had me try on a million different outfits. I got everything that I could possibly need. A bunch of workout outfits, casual wear, and even a few dresses. Once she was satisfied that I had enough clothes she turned to the guards with us, “Boys, we are going to go in here now,” she was pointing to an underwear/lingerie store. “If you don’t mind taking our stuff and waiting for us in the food court that would be great. I am sure that you don’t want to see what we get from here.” She gave them a wink.

They blushed for a moment and David spoke up, “Mackenzie, you know that the Alpha doesn’t like us leaving your side, no matter the reason.”

I responded, “Guys, you know my fighting abilities pretty well now right?” They both shook their heads yes. “Then do you think that it would be ok to leave Mackenzie’s side knowing that I will never leave her? We will stay together at all times.” They were thinking it over for a few seconds. Their eyes had glossed over and it looked like they were mind linking each other.

David replied, “If it were anyone else we would say no, but since it is you Allison we will go wait for you two in the food court.” He turned to Mackenzie, “Make sure that you mind link us if there is any trouble.”

“Of course.” Mackenzie said with a smile. We watched as the guards slowly walked towards the food court. “I am so glad that you are with me! I really didn’t want to shop for undergarments with them around.” stated Mackenzie.

I found several pairs of underwear, matching bras, and sport bras. Mackenzie even convinced me that I should get a few sexy lingerie outfits too since my birthday was next week, and I might find my mate. I went to go checkout while Mackenzie continued to look at the products in the store. When I turned back around there were two men, who looked to be in their early twenties, talking with Mackenzie. I didn’t like the way that they were looking at her. Their eyes said that their intentions were not pure by a long shot. As I came closer, I could see that Mackenzie was clearly uncomfortable.

I walked up to her and put one of my arms through her arms and said, “Hey, are you ready to go? We shouldn’t keep the guys waiting on us too long.” I gave Mackenzie a wink hoping that she would catch on. She smiled at me and said, “Of course, we were done talking anyways.”

That must have hit a nerve with one of them, because he got frustrated and stated, “We aren’t done talking here. Do you mind? She was just about to give us her number, isn’t that right, doll?” I really didn’t like the way he was staring at Mackenzie, and I retorted with, “I am sorry, but our parents don’t let us give out our numbers to strangers. Especially ones that are hitting on us in a lingerie store of all places. We have to go, our boyfriends are waiting for us in the food court.” I started to pull Mackenzie’s arm and move towards the door. The one that was talking to us grabbed Mackenzie’s other arm and hissed, “You aren’t going anywhere. We both know that you are lying about having boyfriends waiting for you.”

Seeing this strange man’s hands on my new best friend set me off. I saw red, I instantly punched the guy in the gut and twisted his hand that was holding onto Mackenzie’s arm behind his back and pinned him against the wall. This surprised both of the men, and the second guy took a step back and watched. I got close to the guy in front of me and whispered in an angry tone, “Don’t you ever lay hands on a woman without her permission again! If you are so convinced that we are lying, feel free to follow us from a distance until we meet up with our guys. For your sake though, I would just leave her alone.” I turned towards Mackenzie and led her by her arm out of the store.

Once we are out of earshot, I told Mackenzie to mind link the guys that we were done and that they should meet us in the walkway as soon as possible. I left it up to her if she wanted to tell them about the creeps. I glanced behind us, and I could see the two guys from the store a few stores behind us. As we saw the two guards come towards us, I gave the one closest to me a hug and told the guards to pretend to be our boyfriends. David and Alexander didn’t miss a beat, and wrapped their free arms around mine and Mackenzie’s waist as we walked towards the car to drop off all of our stuff. I assume that the men behind us decided to leave after that, because they didn’t bother us again.

Mackenzie convinced me that we should go get pedicures. On the way to the nail salon I filled in David and Alexander about what happened with the guys in the lingerie shop. They were angry that anyone had treated Mackenzie the way that they did, but they were also grateful that I was there to handle them.
