New Beginnings

~ Allison’s POV ~ I slowly open my eyes and realize that I am still in a room at the pack doctor’s office. It is now some time in the middle of the night. I look around to find a clock to see what time it is. As I am looking around I see a body slumped over at the end of my bed. Is that Alpha Malachi? Why would he still be here? I am just some random rogue that he doesn’t know. *Sapphire: Don’t think like that. You are no longer a random rogue. You are a future member of this pack. Plus, he’s kinda cute. I take a deep breath and I get a big whiff of cinnamon. Something about the scent calms me down almost instantly. I take a couple more slow deep breaths taking in as much of his scent as I can. Damn, he smells good. I hate it when Sapphire is right. Alpha Malachi starts to fidget and move around. He looks towards me and notices that I am awake. He sits upright and asks, “How are you feeling? Are you ok? Did you want some food?” I smiled at the mention of food. I replied, “Food first, answers later.” With that he pulled out a plate with a sandwich and chips on it. Seeing my amusement, he responded with, “I figured that you might be hungry when you woke up, so I had the cook put together a plate for you since you missed dinner.” “Thank you Alpha, can I ask you something?” “Of course.” “Why are you being so nice to me? Does it have anything to do with what I told you?” I waited impatiently as he thought about his response. “I can’t quite explain it right now. I just feel a lot calmer around you for some reason, and want to see you happy. If I am making you uncomfortable, I can go.” he said with a hint of disappointment. I thought about it for a moment as Alpha Malachi’s expression was getting sadder by the second. “I don’t mind you being here.” Alpha Malachi smiled. He looks so hot when he smiles. God, Allison, now is not the time to get aroused. We spent the next few hours talking about everything and anything. I learned that Alpha Malachi has a younger, 16-year-old sister, and he watches over her when their parents are traveling. He likes the color red, and his favorite food is pizza. Before we knew it, it was morning and almost time for breakfast. After Sara cleared me to leave, Alpha Malachi insisted on walking with me to breakfast. Which I didn’t mind, I like having him around. Especially after we talked so much last night. Alpha Malachi asked, “What are your plans for today Allison?” “I am not sure. I may go join the women during their training after lunch, since I was unable to go to the training this morning.” Alpha Malachi looked a little surprised by my response, “Would you be up for helping me with some paperwork this morning? I have a lot of work to get done today.” “Sure, I used to help my dad with paperwork every once in a while.” Mentioning my dad made me a little sad. I missed him. At least I would get to spend more time with Alpha Malachi and learn more about how he ran his pack. My dad used to say that you could tell the difference between a good Alpha and a bad Alpha by how they treated their Omegas (servants), and how they ran their pack. ~ Malachi’s POV ~ I was floating on a cloud this morning. I was in such a good mood after spending most of the night talking with Allison. She loves the color green and milk chocolate. She told me how her father started training her when she was only four. That surprised me because most Alpha’s I know, my parents included, insisted on not training girls until they turned 13. However, Allison’s dad insisted that any child of his should know how to fight, and the sooner she learned the better. By the age of 10 she was a legend. She could take down most warriors in a one-to-one match. She did admit that she didn’t have a lot of training with grappling and fighting against more than two at one time though. Which I am sure that Beta Matthew could help her with that over time. I asked Allison to help me with some paperwork this morning, because I wanted to spend more time with her. I was glad when she agreed to help, even though I am not sure what she will be able to do yet, but I am intrigued to see how she does. As we got to my office, I watched Allison’s blue/green eyes widen at the amount of paperwork that had piled up. She asked, “What do you want me to do first, Alpha?” I thought about it for a moment. “Can you go through all of the files and separate them into categories? Reports, requests, etc. Once they are separated I need the reports to be entered into the computer. If you have any questions just ask, I am going to go into the room over here and make some phone calls. If anyone asks for me, please let them know that I am busy and don’t want to be bothered. The only exception is Beta Matthew, of course.” “Yes, Alpha.”
