The Rejection

She couldn't believe it herself, she thought she had pointed at someone else but when she felt the heat from their gaze dwelling on her she knew instantly that the hate from the eyes would kill her immediately.

The shock, the surprise, and the confusion on their faces were worth killing for, she still couldn't believe that the head maid had pointed at her.

She was shivering with fear as her eyes darted from Dennis to his mother and the head maid.

She wanted to say something but for the first time in years, her tongue betrayed her, it lay limp and dry in her mouth.

Dennise turned to the head maid "Do you know the gravity of what you just did? Hope you'll be able to defend yourself if you stand before the council?"

She wiped her face with a small handkerchief she had been holding all this while.

"I swear to the moon goddess, I will go to any length to prove to you that she poisoned one of the maids."

Gasp escaped from Luna Amanda and Adriana's lips.

"I knew it all along I knew you're up to no use ." Luna Amanda spoke up after a while." But if I had stated the obvious a long time ago nobody would believe me, they would see me as a wicked mother-in-law. "

It was too hard for Denise to believe he turned around as he ran his fingers through his hair in exasperation.

"I should have known that you are a cunning fox, hiding, pretending, waiting for the right time to strike." When he looked into her eyes all she saw was hatred and disbelief

"How could you do such a thing I would vouch for you even in death, how could you?" He said his voice held a tone of pain which was small but enough to tear the Pack apart.

Queen Luna spoke up again "You will be punished. "

Just when her tongue finally freed her from its wicked punishment she opened my mouth to defend herself

Denise came lodging towards her and threw a hard slap her way.

It was harder and sharper than before and she fell to her knees, blood spilling out of her lips staining her white dress.

'I didn't do it ." She managed to say, coughing out blood ."She is lying, I will never do such a thing."

"But you had the guts to poison an ordinary maid."

He made to hit me but his mother restrained him

"That's enough son, she is not worth your time. "

Her face was lined with dried tears and blood and her heart wrenched from the thought that the man she loved had refused to believe her.

This was enough for one day for her and her chest was heaving, making her breathless.

"I'm innocent ." She said again ."I didn't do it."

"Shut your trap, you lonely omega." Luna Amanda said ." Do you know we have evidence that Adriana here saw you when you were poisoning the maid's meal and when she confronted you, you threatened to kill her and her unborn baby in her sleep?"

She blinked back in confusion.

What was going on here?

She stood up on wobbling feet and glanced from Adriana to Queen Luna and back again.

She didn't understand....confronted... threatened.... unborn child?

She couldn't find the needed answers slowly her eyes rose and met Dennis and he looked away as quickly as their gaze met.

Before he spoke she could see it in his eyes, the slow anger melting away getting replaced by a hint of guilt and the truth which lay hidden behind his eyes.

Her expression was filled with confusion as she struggled to grasp what was going on.

"Dennis...?" She choked.

"Yes, it's true besides I owe you no explanation."

The sentence alone was enough to send her to her grave.

"I don't care how you feel and I didn't want to tell you in the first place because as the Alpha I do as I please. "

"What do you mean by that?" she said, choking back a sob that threatened to rise from the deepest pit in her stomach.

"Yes, Adriana is carrying my unborn child, she is pregnant with the future heir of Blue Waters Pack."

She almost died.

Her soul almost left her body.

This was unbelievable. It was the rudest thing she had ever heard since she was born.

She couldn't comprehend, she needed someone to tell her that was all a prank, for the sharp sun rays to drive into her room and wake her up from this slumber.

Another fresh set of tears flooded her face and her mouth formed a little "O."

"Why, why would you do such a thing."

"Because you couldn't give me an heir ." He said almost immediately driving her backward."You are barren, an Omega ."He counted."Worst you are weak and have no power yet, hell the list goes on and on."

She shook her head from side to side as pain shot through her skull and her head began to throb, her lips brought forth fresh blood.

"Dennis..." she choked.. "please."

"Look this is hard for me Wilhelmina I can't wake up every morning to see your lying face, I don't think both of us can work. "

"Dennis ..."

" Let me finish ." He said hushing her with his palms raised

"I don't want to hurt you more than this. You already poisoned a maid and you know what it means to stand before the council and face trial. "

"I....I.I didn't."

"Enough."He barked."Adriana is now my mate."

Still holding her gaze he clapped his hands and the guards whom no one knew had been standing outside came marching in.

As she looked at them approaching her, she fell deep into the pit of confusion as they came to her side and held her

"You will be taken away and for the sake of our sanity and not to disgrace myself further you have two choices either to stay here and get reduced to the position of a maid or you leave. "

"Dennis please listen to me .. please I beg you."

He said nothing as she was been led away, she struggled but the guards overpowered her just when they got to the door.

He stopped them and a surge of hope rushed through her, then he said the most unimaginable word and destroyed her soul completely.

"I, Alpha Dennis Octavio, reject Wilhelmina Martina McBride as my mate and Luna.....Take her away."
