Thanx, for leaving me you’re such a good friend,” Sapphire said being overly sarcastic with Solé. “I was helping. Fahlynn couldn’t take his eyes off of you,” Solé said. She was painting Lotus’s nails over on the couch. “What happened?” Lotus asked blowing on her hand. She was lost and felt like something bad was about to happen. “I was playing Soccer with Xavier for the last hour and a half. He’s really sweet in a weird way,” She said getting a bottle of water from the fridge. Lotus didn’t like the smile on her face. Xavier was nowhere near sweet in any kind of way. “Um, Sapphire honey I hate to break it to you, but Xavier is a loser and a really controlling, narcissistic-jerk,” Lotus said. “Wow, did something happen between you two, because you seem a little bitter?” Solé asked and Sapphire almost choked on her water from laughing. “I used to date Xavier and what you’re thinking isn’t going to work,” Lotus said to Sapphire. “I’m not thinking anything,” Sapphire said sitting on the coffee table in front of the couch. “You’re thinking about going out with Xavier to make Fahlynn jealous and that is so childish,” Lotus said as her phone started to ring. “It’s not going to be like that I have a plan,” Sapphire said and Solé laughed. “So what is this horrible plan you-came-up-with-that-no-one-can-talk-you-out-of-and-is-sure-to-horribly-backfire?” Solé said in one breath making Lotus laugh. “It’s good, all I”- “Wait a sec,” Lotus said answering her phone. “This better be good.” “Hey babe is Sapphire there with you?” Shalimar asked as Fahlynn went in his room and slammed the door. “Tell Fahlynn to stop acting like a big baby all the time.” she said laughing at her cousin. “What are you talking about that was Harper,” Shalimar said. “Liar, Sapphire is right here why are you calling?” Lotus said as the girls rushed her to get off the phone. “We want her to join the soccer team,” Shalimar said giving Sapphire the perfect opening to get to know Fahlynn better. “I’ll ask her hold on,” Lotus said turning to Sapphire. “Do you wanna play soccer with us? I think you’ll really like it,” She said trying to encourage her to say yes. “Tell her it’s really important to Fahlynn,” he lied. “He said it would mean a lot to Fahlynn,” Lotus laughed. “Sure whatever,” Sapphire said. “She said sure, goodbye.” “I love you.” “Yeah, yeah, yeah,” She said with a smile as she hung up. “So what is this plan of yours.” “Since Fahlynn is so unsure about wither or not he wants to be with me I thought it would be good to take my self-off the market. Maybe if he sees me with someone else it could help him realize he wants to be with me. There’s nothing a man wants more than something he can’t have.” Sapphire said making a little bit of since but something about this felt wrong to Lotus. “You have to be honest with him,” Solé said finishing Lotus’s nails. “What Fahlynn doesn’t know can’t hurt him and I think I deserve to know if the boy’s into me or not,” Sapphire said being about as stubborn as Fahlynn. “If you two are cupido’s then he’ll be able to sense you’re lying so what’s the point?” she asked. “He’ll be to jealous not to trust me.” “Devious scheme really?” Lotus asked. “Welcome to everyday of my life,” Solé said and let out a heavy sigh. “Lo, it’s just to get him to open up a little more and accept who I am.” “Well, I think this is childish and he’s not going to fall for it.” Fahlynn Fahlynn was pissed Shalimar and Harper went behind his back and invited a vampire on their soccer team. Worst of all she agreed and now there was nothing he could do about it. Except make her quit. The only problem was how exactly to do it? “Fahlynn you’re acting like a big baby if the girl’s good she’s good. Shalimar and I voted and we’re over ruling you. You’re the team captain these are your rules so deal with it.” Harper said. “What the hell are we going to do when everyone else figures out she’s a vampire, and playing soccer will make it ever more obvious. A chick faster than anyone that can play a full hour of soccer without breaking a sweat” Fahlynn asked. “No one knows she’s a vamp and she’s only half. I’m sure she can charm her way past the naysayers.” Shalimar said “You can’t really think that?” Fahlynn asked being more than skeptical. He couldn’t believe this was really happening. “You’re just trying to let you’re drama hold us back. No one’s asking you to marry the girl,” Harper said. “Are you serious? I’m thinking about our reputation and the future of this team after we leave this year. Forget the school, do you really think everyone’s going to be comfortable playing with a Vamp?” he asked and Harper and Shalimar were silent, “See not only will everyone on the team feel like killing her, every other team is going to try and bar us from playing because of the unfair advantage. We can’t be the cheaters that needed a vampire to win.” Fahlynn couldn’t argue anymore so he grabbed a jacket and went to the music room. Fahlynn needed to go to one of the sound proof booths and relax. Too much happened in the past 72 hours and he needed to stop hearing everyone’s views on it and think for himself. He thought he could have a normal life without ever thinking, seeing, or talking to or about Sapphire. Yet, for the past hour all he did was talk about her and how he wasn’t in love with her. Was it possible? Could you fall in love that fast? Fahlynn did live in a dimension of magic and wonder where even the dirt under his feet had some magical property. So someone that hated vampires with a fire so strong it burned white could fall in love with the very object of his hatred. But Sapphire wasn’t an ordinary vampire she was half witch and she lived in the village. She hast to be from the village. He thought. “Hey Fahlynn are you okay?” Toby asked when he saw Fahlynn’s face. It was pale and hardened. Fahlynn looked like he was losing it. He was losing everything he thought he was for love. “Yeah I’m fine I’m just going to chill in a chanting room for a bit.” he said faking a smile and going to a different classroom. Fahlynn got that familiar feeling of time trying to tell him something. He never had permeations so close together. He also had a feeling it was going to be about Sapphire. “Why is this happening to me?” he asked as he leaned against the classroom door. Fahlynn was in the medical unit looking down at Sapphire. She had cuts all over her face and her lips were dry and chapped. When she cracked her eyes open he said, “The last thing you’re going to want to do is try to get up. We have to stop meeting like this hunh?” “Drink this,” a nurse said giving Sapphire a glass of blood with a little straw in it. Sapphire looked up at Fahlynn who was smiling down at her. He knew she was worried about how he felt and she didn’t want to freak him out. “Drink it,” he said encouraging her. He help her adjust the bed so she could drink. When she took a sip she tasted the familiar sweetness of Fahlynn. The blood was still warm and it tasted like frustration, fear, and guilt, but it was Fahlynn’s. “You didn‘t…Did you?” she asked pointing to the glass. “You needed fresh blood and that’s what it is,” he said gently caressing her cheek. She set the glass on the tray and pushed it away, “Why are you doing this you hate me?” she asked looking into his surprised eyes. He could see how hurt she was but she still loved him underneath it all there was still a chance she’d forgive him for being so stupid. “You’ve saved me more than once and no one should have hurt you like that,” he said gently kissing her hand. “I’m really sorry I never told you the whole truth you deserved to know. I just couldn’t lose you”- “Stop,” was all he got before the vision was over. “What didn’t she tell me the whole truth about?” he wondered to himself as he left the class room. When he was walking down the hall he hit a wall, “Are you okay that was my fault,” Sapphire said helping him up. “I’m fine,” Fahlynn said as he fixed his cloths. God I can’t escape her. “Do I irritate you?” she asked with the sexiest little grin on her face. His heart was racing as he tried not to look her in her deep blue eyes. “A little,” he breathed and they laughed together. “You wanna sit and talk about it?” she asked giving him a thermos and reached for his free hand in the exchange. “What is this Sapphire?” he asked stepping in front of her. He was tired of going through this alone and if everyone was right she’d feel something more too. “Coffee,” she smiled and reached out for his hand. “Not in the thermos-between us,” he yelled spazing out on her. She smiled at him again and took his hand. “I only wanted to get to know you better. If you don’t want to talk just say so,” she said in a soft gentle voice. Now Fahlynn felt like a lunatic for going off on her, so he just followed her to a table outside the café. They were alone and it was pretty cold out. She poured him a cup and just stared at him. It was creepy staring, but it was like she was studying his face trying to memorize every inch. “Look I know what you are,” he whispered as he took the cup. “And what might that be?” she asked staring into his eyes now. “You’re the mystery vampire everyone’s been looking for,” he said and he could feel how nervous it made her even though she looked unruffled. So maybe they could be cupidos this would make sense. “And who told you that?” She asked with a little smile. “You did,” he said rubbing her soft hand with his thumb. “I did, really?” she asked and he could feel her relaxing. He looked up into her eyes and they were twinkling in the moon light. “Yeah I had a vision and you told me you’re a vampire and Lotus confirmed it,” he said softly rubbing the side of her face. “You can’t tell anyone okay,” she said moving closer to him. “I know Lotus told you and I know you told her to watch her back around me. I’m not here to hurt anyone I just wanted to learn about the other part of me.” “You’re grandma is a vampire and so was the guy you were with your boyfriend,” he said and she smiled. “Jessi isn’t my boyfriend well not anymore,” she said and Fahlynn could feel himself getting jealous. “It didn’t seem that way when you two were kissing on the roof,” he said taking his hand back. “How do you know about that?” she asked suspiciously. “I found your ferret in the hall and I went up to see if his owner was still on the roof and you were frenching Jessi,” he said a little annoyed for no reason. He had no right to be jealous, however he was. “I’m sorry if that hurt your feelings,” she said rubbing his cheek. “Look I don’t know why I acted like that it’s none of my business,” he said and smiled halfheartedly. “What’s Hamlet like?” she asked changing the subject. “Be honest with me you’re not from Summerland you’re from the village right?” He asked looking in her eyes hoping to find the truth. “Yeah, you’re right, but I don’t really leave the village unless it’s to go to the mortal dimension,” she said telling him the truth. “What do you do there?” he asked genuinely curious. “Nothing really, my Gran is on the Royal Advisory Board. She’s in charge of all the schools in the village. She works really close with the Queen and Duchess,” she said smiling at him. “So you know the royal family?” he asked a little surprised. “Yeah Demetrius the son of the Duke and Duchess is my uncle’s boyfriend and I used to date the prince, Jessi is the prince,” She said and Fahlynn’s face turn a pale green color. “Are you okay?” “Yeah, you’re ex is a crazy vampire and not just any crazy vampire but the prince as in the heir to the throne, will govern people’s lives someday prince. Why wouldn‘t it be okay?” he said feeling his insides turn. “Yeah because it’s not like you like me or anything,” she said as if it was a question and he was wondering the same about her. “I don’t think it would be smart of us to be in a relationship,” he said looking into her eyes. “But that’s not what I said. Do you like me or not because if you don’t I wouldn’t be mad or anything it’s not like you have to like me I won’t cry or anything. I’m going to stop talking any second now,” she said blushing and looking down at the table she felt stupid for ranting like that. “Hey you seem really cool but I saw you with Xavier and I’m sure that was something,” he said looking into her eyes knowing that wasn’t what he should say or what he wanted to say. “I think I’d like to be friends or something with you if that’s okay. I don’t want you to feel like I’m trying to mess up your life or hurt Lotus she’s really great to me and my sister Solé,” Sapphire said lacing her fingers through his. “I’m sure we can try to be friends,” he said staring in her eyes and trying hard not to kiss her. “I should get back it’s getting really late and I have a morning class,” she said rushing off.
