chapter 9~ the meeting

alex's pov

~earlier that day~

when we got to the office, the boys looked confused. I hardly ever hold an emergency meeting, but I needed to tell them about Octavia and I being mates.

after we all sat down, I poured each of a drink. I was stalling and I knew it but I couldn't help it. I am a nervous wreck about this, I know they'll be supportive, so I don't know what is wrong with me. I passed them both their drinks and sat back.

"I've found my mate."

liam, who was in the middle of taking a drink, spit it everywhere with a look of shock on his face. if this wasn't such an important conversation, I probably would have laughed. meanwhile, kyle had a reserved face on like he already thought about this.

"exuse me, what did you just say?"

i couldn't blame liam for questioning me, stil irrtated my wolf, but i understood. we've been waiting for our mat for six years. six long years hoping and prying we would find our mate and now she is here.

"i found my mate."

"Well, who is she?"

"octavia is my mate.."

once again, i watched as liam's face turned to one of shock. i could see he was trying to process everything and put the pieces together.

"That's why you didn't kick her out of the pack when she crossed the border.. holy s**t man.. does layla know about this."

at the metion of leyla, my face darkened. i planned on renoucing her as my luna even before octavia is ready. after she threatoned my mate, i could't stand to be around her anymore. she pushed a botton that couldn't be unpushed.

"Yeah, she knows about it. she threatoned to harm octavia, and we got into a huge argument."

liam's wolf seemed to try and surface. i watched his eyes go from bright blue to bright gold before changing back. kyle, on the other hand, hadn't said a word so far, probably trying to recover from finding all this out.

"How dare that girl threation are right, full luna. i never liked her anyway she is always so bossy and mean to everyone."

i nodded, agreeing with what liam said. he is right, leyla and i have gotten into many arguments about how she treats the other members of the pack.

"So, what's going to happen now?"

i looked at kyle, who finally seemed to get with the program. his face held one of resolve, like he knew this all along.

"i plan on rejecting leyla soon and denoucing her as the luna. octavia doesn't want to take over yet. she wants to try and fit in with the pack and finish scooling and training before becoming the luna. she said she doesn't want people to just look at her and think that she's only here because she's my mate. she wants to earn their respect first. she also wants to take things slow between us. she's scared and nervous, i understand where she is coming from. She hasn't been in a pack in a very long time."

both men sat there after i got done talking. they both seemed to be thinking about different things. probably how all of this is going to turn out.

before we could say anything, i felt someone trying to link me. i opened up the link and was met with jessica's furios voice.

"apha, leyla is here picking a fight with octavia. she took a dress from her and was trying to use the luna title to buy the dress she took. please come over here soon."

my face darkened. it hasn't even been one day, and leyla is starting her s**t. i quickly stood up, surpirsing both men in the room.

"alex, what's going on? You look like you're about to murder someone."

"leyla is already starting her crap with octavia, jessica just linking me about it."

liam, hearing that his mate was their in the cross, quickly stood up and left with me.

when we got outside, i quickly shifted into my wolf. i wanted to get there as fast as i could. i took off running in the direction of the mall, leaving liam to follow me.

my wolf is angry that leyla didn't take our threat suriously. we vowed to punish her later for not listening to us like we had told her to.

when we arrived at the mall, i quickly shifted back and grabbed some clothes from the bin we kept outside of place for this reason.

liam and i strode into the palce with our arua's high and dominate. the pack members around us shrank away from us, not wanting to be on the reseving, end of our short temper.

i followed the sweet strawberry and fresh lilac smell until I came to a*****e. it looked like she was shopping for a formal dress, probably for rher ceremony that's less than three weeks away.

when I walked , the storeintoI was greeted with Layla and Octavia in a heated argument. leayla is holding a lilac purple dress, trying to get the cashier to scan it for her. Octavia and Jessica were arguing with Leyla about how Octavia had the dress before she did. the poor cashier didn't know what to do with the situation.

I walked up behind Octavia and looked at leyla. she looked smug, probably thinking I came. to her rescue. however, I was furious with how she was acting, using the Luna title to try and get whatever she wanted.

"Leyla, give her the dress back now."

she looked at me flabbergasted. she was expecting me to come to her rescue, not publicly demand her to give something back to someone else.

"But I'm the Luna of this pack, and I want this dress."

"I don't care. You took something out of someone's hands and demanded it to be yours. that is not how the Luna of a pack should act at all, and you know it."

she looked p**ed, but I didn't care. she threw the dress at octavia before storming out of the store. I knew this tantrum wasn't about the dress. She was just jealous of octavia.

after Octavia paid for the dress, we all left the store. Octavia still looked a little upset about the whole situation. my wolf was grumbling in my head from the blunt disrespect Leyla had shown us. I promised him that we would deal with her later, and that shut him up.

"Hey guys, you wanna go to the food court to grab a bite to eat. I'm starving."

I watched octaviea's eyes light up at the mention of food. they probably haven't eaten since breakfast this morning.

we all walked to the food court. when we got there I paid for octaviea's and my food while Jessica and Liam got something else.

we all sat quietly eating our food. I could tell jessica and octaviea were still upset about the whole situation that happened in the store, so I decided to stay with them to make sure she wouldn't start anything again.

"Thank you for getting me food, Alex. I really appreciate it."

"Of course, anything for you."

I watched her face turn red all the way to the tips of her ears. she looked down, letting the hair fall in front of her face to hide. I hated that she hid from me, I love looking at her beautiful face.

"So is there anywhere else you girls would like to go, or are we done here?"

octaviea's head shot up and looked a bit shy.

"I would actually like to stop at the bookstore. a saw one when we first walked in and wanted to stop before we went home."

I smiled down at her. of course, she would be a little book worm, it fits her.

"Okay. to the book store we go."

we all got up and took care of our trash before heading toward the bookstore.
