Chapter 17: Change in him

Ananya's POV~

After he went to study, I sat with Ayu to play in his room. Then I made Ayu sleep. I was thinking how he deal with the situation easily.

I mean he changed so much. He talked to my mom politely. I was happy at this change but I am really scared what will happen if he face dad? Dad isn't really fond of Austin.

Mr.Knight blackmailed me to marry him. I was scared how to break this news to my parents. How they will even receive this news?

He just ordered me that he will marry me in one week. How should I say this?

"Hello mom", I said while talking to on the phone.

"Yes Anu...How are you?", Mom asked.

"I am fine,mom", I said.

"I will talk with my daughter", I heard my dad speaking.

I was tensed how do I break this news to them.

"Mom Dad...I want to tell you guys something important ", I said.

"You can tell us anything, beta", Mom said.

"Mom..Actually I like someone...I want to marry him", I said in one go.

"Who is that? How do you know each other? How do you met each other?", They bombarded me with questions.

"Mom..He is from UK only..His name is Mr.Kni...Austin..", I said stuttering.

"What? You will marry a foreigner who is not from us.. ", Mom said.

"Mom...", I said.

"Although I don't mind all these..but beta...There will be some challenges you need to face..Don't you think?", Mom asked.

"Mom..He is there to help me..", I said.

"So what does he do?", Dad asked seriously. I don't even know what he does. I immediately searched his name in Google.

"He run a company, papa", I said.

"How old is he?", Papa asked.

"He is 34 years old", I said in a low voice just as mentioned in the Google.

"What?", Papa raised a stern voice.

"He is 7 years older than you", Mom exclaimed.

"Mom..Please...", I said.

"No Anu...You need to understand..He should be married at this age..I think there is something wrong ", Papa said.

Now I think they will hit me through this phone only.

"Papa..He is already married...", I said in a low voice.

"Do you even know what are you speaking?", Papa screamed in anger.

"Papa..Please..", I said while tears flowing from my eyes.

"Mano..", my mom calmed him down.

"Anu beta...Do you know what are you doing? He is already married..", Mom said.

"Ma...He is divorced. We met when his son is admitted in our hospital. We both like each other..", I said in low voice.

I cried while lying to my parents. I don't know how to deal with this.

"Oh..He already has a child..Do you know what are you thinking?", Dad said.

"Dad..Please..", I said.

"No...I will not agree..", Dad said.

"Mom..", I said.

"Anu...Please..We will talk later..", Mom said and cut the call.

I cried in the call room. I was on night duty today. I need to check on Mr.Knight's son.

I went knocked on the VIP room door where the baby is present.

I went inside after few minutes. I saw Mr.Knight sitting beside the baby. A smile adorned my face when I saw the baby.

I just checked him. He is fine now but it's just he craves some care and attention.

"So...When are you planning to leave the job?", he asked. I was shocked.

"Why I will leave my job?", I asked in confusion.

"Stop kidding me..Do you think I will let you do the job? You should take care of my baby 24/7", he said. I was speechless.

"Mr Knight...I am confident that I will manage both...", I was about add something but he gestured me to stop.

"Do you want something happen to your parents?", he asked me while taking his phone out. I shivered at his statement.

"Please..No..No..", I said.

"So..Hand in your resignation tomorrow", he said.

"I don't know if they will accept or not..", I said hoping he will back off atleast now.

"Who will dare to order me at my own hospital?", he said. My eyes widened at his revelation. He just maintained his cold demeanor.

"So..Can we sign the contract tomorrow?", he asked.

"Mr.Knight...Please..give me some time..I have called my parents..Please..there are many challenges before me..", I said and he stood silent.

"I just said that we like each other..So please give me some time to convince them..I don't want my parents to know about all this", I said while crying. He looked at me being annoyed.

"Okay...fine...I will help you with that...Ask your parents to be ready. I will send my men to escort them to London", he said.

"They will...mana..", I was cut off again.

"I don't like to repeat myself" , he said by showing his hand to me. I just nodded helplessly.

"I will leave now..", I said and went off.

When I went to the call room, I was exhausted thinking what are the things were happening to me. I am still in my scrubs. I don't know how to deal with all this.

I slept while crying. When I open my eyes, I saw it's already 8 in the morning. My eyes widened and I immediately checked my phone. There were no calls.

I don't why I slept for so long.

When I was about to freshen up, I saw a lady standing in front of me.

"Who are you?", I asked politely.

"Mr.Knight asked me to escort you to the Knight mansion," the lady said.

"I have to do my rounds...", I said with unsure tone.

"Ma'am...Mr.Knight has taken care of everything. There is already a new GS in your place..So Please come with me..", she said.

Money can do anything..Literally anything. The hospital got a new GS already...I laughed at my fate.

"I haven't freshened up yet...I am still in my scrubs..", I said.

"Ma'am..You can freshen up in the Knight mansion as Mr.Knight asked me escort you as soon as possible...", she said.

I just looked at her. She is stubborn and will not budge.

"Okay", I helplessly nodded.

After that, she made me sit in the car. She sat on front seat beside driver.

"So...Where is this mansion?", I asked.

"Knightsbridge", she said. My eyes widened at her answer.

"What?", I said.

"Yes ma'am ", she said.

I just sat silently. I need some time to digest this fact. He surely has money..Why is he even after me? He can get what he wants...Why me?

These are the only questions lingering in my mind during the whole ride.

"Ma'am we have arrived", the lady said. I opened the car door. She looked at me with wide eyes but soon covered her expressions.

What happened to her?

"Please come inside", she said. I just nodded.

When I enter the mansion, my eyes widened at the beauty of the mansion. My mouth gaped at this beauty.

I saw the lady just smiled at me. I soon covered my reactions and stood with her.

"Ma'am..Please come..Mr.Knight is at study..", she said.

"Okay", I said.

We both went towards his study. We started climbing stairs. After she showed me the door and went off.

I knocked on the door. I heard a faint 'come in'.

I opened the door and went inside. My heart was beating with insane speed. He still busy in his papers taht he is reading. He is wearing suit looking handsome.

"What is it?", he asked in a cold voice still concentrating on his papers . I don't know what to say. I just stood still. My hands are sweating due to anxiety.

I cleared my throat. Finally he looked at me..

"What are you doing here?", he asked.

"I...The..Lady...", I stuttered. He just gave me a bored look.

He called someone. The lady who dropped me came again.

"Just make her look like a Knight", he said.

"Yes Mr.Knight", The lady said.

What about me? What does he mean? Am I not looking good? What is wrong with me?

"After she is ready, send her here again", he said. The lady just nodded.

"Ma'am ", she gestured me to come outside. I just nodded.

"Ma'am...Please freshened up...I will bring your clothes..", she said. She dropped me to a room in first floor. I nodded.

I went in the bathroom, to see all necessities in the bathroom. Everything that I use.

How do they know about what I use?

I removed that thought and started freshening up.

"How I have to convince my parents?", This was the big question that is running in my mind.

After freshening up, I realized that I didn't have any dress to wear. I saw a bathrobe near a cupboard. I wore a bath robe and went outside.

I flinched when I saw the lady who escorted me is inside.

"Sorry Miss..if I scared you", she said.

"Please don't be...I didn't expected you here", I said.

"This is the dress you can wear", she said while placing a dress on the bed.

"Okay", I nodded and took that dress. The dress is the jumpsuit. The dress looked good.

After getting ready, she took me to the study again.

"Ma'am...you can go now...Sir is expecting you", she said and went off.

"Wait..Wait...Why are you not coming inside?", I asked her while holding her hand.

"Ma'am...Sir us only expecting you not me..", she said and went off.

The tears are the only thing that is left in my eyes and cheeks right now.

I slowly knocked the door. I heard a faint 'come in' from inside.

I went to inside and looked at him. He was looking extremely handsome. I slapped my forehead for thinking like this.

When I looked at him, he was already staring at me with weird expression. I just cleared my throat.

"Come here..", he said coldly. I nodded and slowly walked towards him. I sat in the sofa beside him.

"I have a surprise for you", he said. I just looked at him with my widened eyes.

"What is it?", I asked being scared of him as he looks so intimidating.

"3...", he said. I looked around.

"2...", he said.

"1...", he said. I heard a knock on the door. He said Come in with a loud voice. I flinched and calmed my nerves.

When I looked at the door. I saw someone whom I never expect them near me this soon.

"Ma....Papa..", I said while being shocked.

"Anu", they said while coming towards me.

I stood up and went near them. I hugged them tightly while they just patted my back calming me. My tears started trialing from my eyes by seeing them here.

"Mom..Dad...what happened?", I asked.

"What are you guys doing here?", I asked while rubbing my eyes. How can I protect them when they here in front of him?

"You tell me what happened?", Dad asked while

"They dragged us here forcefully...They threatened us..", Dad said pointing the body guards.

"Sorry Mr.Manohar..If you felt bad..That is the only thing I can do when you deny. well if Austin Knight wants something...he will get it..", Mr.Knight said rudely.

"What...do you think you are saying?", Papa yelled.

"Papa...Please..Stop", I said while crying.

"Did you hear what he said?", Papa asked.

"Papa please..He is not like this actually. I was...", I stuttered thinking what to say.

"Beta...What is this?", Ma asked me.

"Ma..It's just that we want to marry each other..Please..", I said. Mom just stood silently.

"Marry? I will not let it happen..", Dad scoffed.

"Does he even have values? Does he even know what marriage is?", Dad yelled at me.

"We will get married even if you agree or don't agree", Mr.Knight said. I looked at him to stop but he just shrugged looking at me.

"Mr..Kn...Austin..Please..Can you leave us? I will talk to my mom and dad..", I said to him. He just left without saying anything.

"Papa..Please..Sit..", I said.

"Ma..Please you too", he said.

"Papa..Please listen to me..You always say right you will be happy if I am happy?", I asked them. They both nodded.

"Papa...I am happy if this marriage happens", I said.

"But beta...I don't think he is the one for you", Papa said.

"Why Papa?", I asked.

"I don't see anything in his eyes..His eyes are empty, beta...", he said.

"No Papa...He cares a lot..He is good..Please Papa believe me..", I said.

"Do what you want..You have already decided what you want to do..", he said and went off from the study.

My mom caressed my cheeks. I closed my eyes feeling her warmth.

"Beta...Are you really happy? It's a big responsibility to take care of a child", my mom said.

"Yes..Mom..I am ready...I think he can change my life..He will give me the happiness that I was craving for..", I said while tears are falling from my eyes.

"I am happy if you are happy..", she said.

"Thanks ma..but Papa..", I said.

"He will come around..I will speak with him..", she said.

"Thanks ma..", I said.

I flinched when I heard a sound. I saw Ayu got up and trying to climb in my lap.

I took him in my lap and kissed his cheeks.

"Baby...Did you sleep well?", I asked.

"Yesshnm..", he said.

Yes..He started to speak and his English is so good to hear...I smiled at him
