Alyssa's POV
On the drive home I couldn't stop thinking about that man and the massive tip he had left me. There was a presence about him that equally unnerves me and excites me, he had left four hundred dollars as a tip. This confused me so much as he had only spent $9 on the coffees.
I had taken the money and shoved it into my bra asap before my manager saw it. Questions would be asked and I had no idea how to answer them. There were so many unanswered questions.
Who was he?
Why did I feel that electricity between us?
Who were the men he was with?
Within fifteen minutes of him leaving everyone else had left the diner, I didn't think anything of it at the time but it was somewhat strange.
It was pitch black by the time I got home. I parked my car and locked it, making my way up the stairs to my apartment. There were people loitering around, which wasn't unusual given where I lived. It wasn't exactly the biggest and fanciest place. But I could afford it, and it was home.
"Hey baby," one of the guys called out as o began to walk up the steps. I ignored him and kept going. "Oh baby, don't be like that! Come talk to me!"
I sped up a little trying to get out of the way as quick as possible. Shoving the key into the lock, I had to jiggle it to get it to even unlock. I heard it click and I pushed my way inside.
"Mister Meow," I called out into the darkness. I heard him meow back at me unhappily. I turned on the lights as I shut my front door behind me.
There in my armchair was the mysterious man from the diner. I gasped, almost screamed but I didn't have time before he left up from the chair and covered my mouth with his hand. He pushed me against the door and grinned.
"You've gotta be quiet beautiful," he whispered against my neck. His lips brushing ever so slightly against me. I shuddered, feeling the sparks of electricity between us again. "I don't want them to think I'm murdering you."
Reaching out with my hand to my coat rack I grabbed the baseball bat while he was distracted breathing into my neck.
I managed to just grasp it, and wallop him over the head with it. I expected him to be unconscious and instead the bat broke. Breaking into several pieces.
"s**t," I said as he removed his hand from my mouth to rub his head. "What are you some kind of mutant?"
"What the f**k was that?" he asked angrily.
"You're in my house!" I yelled back.
"To see you!" He exclaimed raising his voice back at me.
I stood there for a moment stunned. His warm body pressed against mine. "You...you...how did you know where I live?"
He smiled at me. "Baby I'm about to rock your world."
"Fat chance," I said.
Before he knew what was happening my knee made contact with his groin. He didn't quite keel over but he did clutch his pearls and let out a small roar. Ducking around him I managed to make it into my bedroom, closing the door behind me and locking It. Just as I backed away from it I saw it rattling.
Mister Meow appeared and hissed at the door. I shoved him into his cat carrier and shoved some clothing into a small bag. I still had the tips of the day down my bra but my handbag was in the living room. It had my license and everything.
I debated going out there and trying to recover it but considering the bat broke over his head I don't think it would be a good idea.
Slinging the bag over my shoulder and picking up Mister Meow in his carrier I made for the window. Opening it I climbed out onto the fire escape and began my small climb down.
I could hear my door give way and as I looked up I was him poke his head out of the window glaring at me. I didn't know what to do so I stuck out my tongue while going down.
I saw him take out his phone and say something to someone on the other end. I didn't have time to figure out what he was doing or saying I just had to get back to my car.
It seemed like people had gone inside or left, it was just me and him. I made it down to the ground and began making a break for the car I thought I was gaining ground.
Mister Meow let off a loud hissing noise before I knew what was happening I dropped the cat carrier and everything went dark.
