** TEAGANS’S POV **

“Well to what do I owe the pleasure of this call Alpha Teagan? It’s been over a year.” Alpha Fiona who’s not only the alpha of The Blue Lake Pack one of the two other female Alpha run packs in the country but also my cousin answers the phone. I chuckle.

“Please Fiona I did invite you to my celebration and we just went to see Tiana together a few months ago.” I reply and she chuckles.

“The life of an Alpha is not their own as our mothers always say.” She says. “Of course they were right and we should of listened.” Fiona turned 18 years old a few days after we took the trip to visit Tiana our older cousin and Alpha of The Silver Mountain Pack. Even though we joke neither one of us would give up our packs. Fiona and I love being Alpha and wouldn’t give it up for anything.

“So what’s going on little cousin?” Fiona asks pulling me out of my thoughts.

“How do you know something is going on? Maybe I just wanted to say Hello.” I say and can damn near see her rolling her eyes.

“Did you?” She asks

“No not just to say hello.” I reply.

“I’m listening.” She says and then goes quiet as she waits for me to say what I need to.

“Fiona what do you know about The Blue Lake Boarding School?” I ask and she growls. This is not good.

“You mean the “human” facility that accepts babies and then does tests on the “special ones” while appearing as a school?” She asks.

“Explain. It’s important.” I say and hear her sigh deeply.

“School has been around since before Nonis time and as a human school we steered clear until right after I took over. One morning Reese and I were out for a run and when we passed by the place a black Mercedes pulls up and we see a lady dressed to the nines get out of the passenger side holding a baby in her arms. She walks up to the door and it’s opened as a tall male in a white lab coat greets her.” Fiona explains and then takes a breath as I can almost see her eyes darken in rage. “We could hear every word even as we hid behind some foliage. The woman handed the baby girl to the man and he asked her if she was sure. The evil woman told him yes. Do whatever you want to do to her. Here’s proof she’s a shifter. I’ll never forget the twisted psychotic grin the man had and the woman rushed to the car and got in before the car drove away.”

“Testing and subduing the wolfs.” I say as a fact.

“We immediately got one of the packs children to be admitted and he got in sending back pictures and recordings.” Fiona explains “We had to pull him because they started testing him with wolfsbane.”

“Wow.” Is all I can say as I take in what she said. I’m physically sick knowing this place exists.

“Tea why are you asking?” Fiona asks me and I hate lying so I tell her everything.

“Honestly it sounds like the b***h is either a nurse or doctor who is assigned to play the guys girlfriend to make sure he gets his doses of Wolfsbane.” Fiona says. “There’s only a handful of employees at the facility so if you email or text me a photo I’ll definitely be able to tell you if she’s an employee,

“I have to get one but I’ll text it to you tonight.”

I say and my rage is topping out at this point as I think of the disgusting facility. To think a place exists that does horrible things to my kind makes me angry. What’s worse are the parents who leave their babies there and never look back.

“Alright Tea I gotta go to a pack meeting but I’ll talk to you in a few hours.” Fiona says

“Sounds great. Thank Fiona.” I reply before ending the call and making the decision to head out for a run. I let Rachel know I’m going out and then head upstairs to pull on my black running outfit with its red flames and shoes, I pull my hair up before grabbing my AirPods and phone. I lock up my room and head downstairs and out the back door. I don’t start my music yet and start running. I know where Xavier’s home is and it takes about 15 mins before I stop and hide just inside the tree line scoping out his home. It’s very open with windows and the lawn and rose bushes look amazing. You can see that someone loves this place. There’s a late model Mercedes parked in front of the garage and my anger flares at the fact that she’s inside with Mason and from the look of the car she has been all night.

“I want to rip her apart. She’ll pay for this.” I think in my head but stop myself. What is that about? She is his girlfriend. I don’t have a relationship with him. He’s not mine. Suddenly the front door opens and the blonde sneaks out quietly shutting the door with a phone to her ear. I take my phone out and take a few photos making sure I got her face and put my phone away. I turn to leave but am stopped in my tracks.

“Yes sir I am working on it.” she hisses into her phone and with my wolf hearing I can just make out the male voice on the phone.

“You’ve been there for almost three days Amanda. You should of dosed the subject and be on your way home. Why are you still there?” The male says

“Sir as you know subject 27645 is stronger than the others and won’t take the meds voluntarily. I’m going to have to dose him while he sleeps or drug him first.” She explains and every part of me wants to rip her fuckin head off but I fight it.

“Amanda you stated this would be a simple quick task.” The male says and I can see the b***h tense up in frustration

“It always has been for the past 5 years he’s believed I was his girlfriend but something’s different sir. Since he left the facility he’s different.” She says in irritation.

“It doesn’t matter. Drug him. Do what you have to do to get him dosed, and get back here. I miss being buried inside you.” The male says and even from here I can see the skank clench her thighs together. “The subject can’t be allowed to shift, and remember his time here. We’d be finished.”

“Yes sir I will take care of it and be home tomorrow.” She says before hanging up and turning to go back inside when the door opens and Mason steps outside his hair wild, his face sleepy and no shirt. Holy s**t his tattoo covered chest is defined and I’d love to lick my way down his 6 pack to his waistband.

“Hey are you alright?” He asks her and she pasted on a sexy smile as she walks up to him and places her hands on his chest.

“Of course baby. I just had to check in with my roomie. Let’s go back inside and I’ll make you some breakfast.” She says before leaning in and kissing his neck.

“RRRRRRR” I let out a quiet growl as her lips connect to his neck and then I freeze in shock when he looks directly at where I’m hiding and pushes her back. There’s no way he heard me right?

“Great breakfast sounds great.” He says maneuvering her inside while not taking his eyes off where I’m hiding. I stay there frozen knowing I can’t move until he looks away or he’ll see me. I know I have to warn him even if he thinks I’m a crazy lunatic.

“Be careful. She’s planning on drugging you to dose you. She’s not who you think she is.” I say a bit louder than I had growled earlier and I could tell he heard me as he looked confused. I didn’t wait any longer since he already knew I was there and probably who I was. I took off running back towards the pack house. s**t what is wrong with me? Between nodding last night when he asked if it was me and then warning him just now, what if I broke the rule of always keeping our secret? I don’t even know this guy and here I am doing things that could put my pack in danger. I’m Alpha for crying out loud. I can’t afford to be stupid. From now on I’m keeping my distance from Mason Russo.

“Ha ha we’ll see.” Tempest says in my head and rolls her eyes.

“What does that mean?” I ask irritatedly

“Just what I said. Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to nap.” She replies.

I get back to the pack house and go inside, heading up to my room to shower and change. I greet every pack member I come across and everyone seems at ease and that makes me happy as Alpha. Right as I reach the top of the stairs I feel someone trying to link and I accept it.

“ Tea where are you?” Skylar asks over the link.

“I just got back from a run. Why?” I reply unlocking my room and stepping inside before closing and locking the door behind me. I start kicking off my shoes and head to my closet grabbing new clothes and stripping off my running gear. I head into my bathroom and step into my shower. “Skylar hello?”

“Sorry but Xavier Russo has been trying to reach you for last few hours and your mama was looking for you.” She quickly explains and I can’t say no to Xavier after I’ve already agreed to help him.

“Ok I’m showering and changing and then I’ll be down. If he isn’t able to wait have Rachel reschedule him. I’ll go as quickly as possible.” I say and Skylar agrees and quickly drops the link. I am showered and dressed 20 mins later as I step out of my room in black leggings, knee high stiletto boots and a light sweater dress that’s burgundy. I’ve pinned my hair into a twist letting my curls fall back. I walk down to my office and unlock the door before walking over to the door connecting to Rachel’s office and unlock it. I pull it open and step in.

“Rachel I’m back but unavailable until I finish up with Mr Russo.” I say.

“No problem Alpha.” She replies and I smile before looking at Xavier.

“Xavier thanks for waiting please come in.” I say over my shoulder as I walk in and sit in my chair. I gesture for him to have a seat. “Would you care for some water or anything?”

“Oh no thank you Alpha.” He replies and I nod to Rachel it’s ok to go back to work and close the door. The moment it’s closed I turn to Xavier and wait for him to talk. Unlike last time he begins without hesitation.

“She’s here already.” He says and I nod in agreement neither of us have to clarify who she is we’re discussing.

“If it’s not too forward I have to ask. How did you know?” He inquires and I decide to just be honest and straight forward.

“When we spoke the day before yesterday I had gone for a run. I was sitting on the shoreline when my ex showed up and to make a long story short he informed me he didn’t care he wasn’t my mate he was going to mate and mark me. I ran but he caught me. Before he could do anything your son came to my rescue.” I tell him and I feel my anger rising. “Anyway I ran home and he followed me. We were talking when she showed up and they started making out.”

“I see. She has been pushing him and trying to convince him to take the meds since the moment she arrived. He has told her no repeatedly.” Xavier says and I look into his eyes

“That’s just the tip of the iceberg.” I reply before opening my top desk drawer which I always keep locked and pull out the file Fiona had emailed over within minutes of my texting Amanda’s picture to her. I toss it to Xavier who catches it and opens the folder. “She’s not who he thinks she is. She’s planning on drugging him so she can inject the wolfsbane and who knows what else into him.”

I watch as he reads through all the evidence including Amanda’s real name and her employees records. As he flips through each sheet he grows more and more concerned. When he finally finished he stands up and sets the file on my desk before turning to leave.

“WAIT XAVIER where are you going?” I ask standing up and moving with my wolfs speed to right in front of him.

“Im going to save my son. He has no idea what she’s planning.” He replies and I look down at the floor as my cheeks heat up.

“That’s not really true. Your son knows because I warned him.” I say and look up to see him looking at me incredulously. “I was on my run and realized I was by your home. I needed a pic of her to send my cousin Alpha Fiona so she could see if the b***h was a worker at the “boarding school” which is really a facility that does tests on any immortals.. That’s where I got the file. Anyway I overheard her on the phone and then your son came out I warned him.” He looks at me and nods before shooting me a small smile and taking off out of the office. The rest of the day went smoothly and that night I fell asleep quickly
