{Angelo’s POV}
Seeing her again, especially so soon wasn’t expected. She looked so beautiful in her scrubs, her body was perfect, so thick and curvy. I shook my head, da**** what was I thinking. “We’re talking to the cops now?” Mikey asked, panic evident in his voice.
I rolled my eyes. “We’ll tell them that you were involved in a robbery, gang members in an alley near here. It isn’t far off from the truth, and by the time the cops get there the mess from anyone but you will be cleaned up.” I said, running my fingers through my hair and slicking it back. A couple of stray pieces fell down in my face as I sighed.
“So, you paid for her drinks last night? Was she the girl Margo was talking about then?” He smirked at me.
“Shut it Mikey!” I snapped. “You know that I don’t do relationships, crushes, or anything like that!”
“Yeah I do, but I’ve never been able to figure out why. You’re an attractive guy, and you can be sweet when you wanna, but you push away every girl that throws themselves at you!” He mumbled.
“I don’t need a woman in my life, not when I have you lot to deal with!” I snapped, turning towards the window in the room. I opened it up taking a deep breath. “Plus, someone like her, I’m sure she’s seeing someone..” I muttered under my breath.
“So you do like her!” He jeered, chuckling under his breath. “She is cute, her hair is pretty, she had pouty lips, and big green ,doe eyes and she has curves in all the right places!” He smirked, I shot him a glare, and he shot his good arm up in the air. “I was just teasing!”
I rolled my eyes and stood up straight, stretching out my back. Sitting in that chair was uncomfortable, I was way too big for it. “I don’t date because I don’t want to.. I’ve never even really noticed women before.. so just drop it, okay?” I asked, staring him down.
“Fine, but a relationship would be good for you. Plus, she seems really nice, and she bakes amazing cupcakes!” He laughed, laying back and getting comfortable. “On second thought.. her baking like that would be killer on my diet!”
I rolled my eyes, no matter how aggravating he is, he was right.. she is beautiful, her curves are amazing, her skin, so milky and pale. Her hair, so fiery, I wanted to run my fingers through it. I shook the thoughts away, looking back up to see her walking through the hallway, a tall male doctor following behind her. I wasn’t trying to eavesdrop, but I also couldn’t stop listening to her soft voice. Though, her tone right now was anything but soft. “I told you Reggie, I’m not interested! I don’t do relationships, I barely do friendships, and I definitely don’t want to date someone who can’t take no for an answer.” She said, walking past our door.
I looked over to Mikey who was now grinning from ear to ear. “She doesn’t date either, just like you! Maybe you two are meant for each other!” He snickered.
“Shut it Mikey!” I said, walking back to the small chair and sitting back down. “Right now we just need to focus on getting you out of here, I can’t wait to see how Margo reacts to you getting shot!” I gave him a satisfied smirk.
“Da****, Margo’s never going to let me out of her sight again!” He groaned, standing up and walking to the door. “The cops are here..” he said, shrugging his shoulders. “Let’s get this over with.”
{Maisie’s POV}
I finally shook off Doctor Reggie, leaving him in one of the rooms with a patient. I took off, going back to check on Mikey and give him his discharge paperwork. I grabbed the stack of papers from my desk, along with my prescription pad. I jotted down some antibiotics, steroids, and pain medication and laid the prescriptions on top of the stack. I carefully made my way back to the room and saw two police officers leaving.
One smirked down at me as he walked by, “Any chance you’re free this evening?” He asked, as I stepped into the doorway.
I shook my head. “Any chance that line ever works.” I asked walking past him. The cop scoffed as he walked away, and I could hear chuckling coming from Mikey and Angelo. I quickly stepped into the room, rolling my eyes and noticing that Mikey was up now, pacing the floor. I grabbed his good arm, walking him back to the bed. “I’ll need you to sign these before you can go, it’s your discharge paperwork. There’s a packet here that talks about the aftercare for your shoulder, and some prescriptions that you’ll have to get filled.” I placed the paperwork in front of him.
“Thanks doc!” He smiled, signing all of the paperwork I had. I handed him the packet, and the prescriptions, and smiled up at him. “You know, you must get asked out a lot.. the doctor from earlier, now that cop.” He smirked, looking down at me.
I rolled my eyes, and let out a sigh. “When I meet a man that doesn’t make me want to run, I might actually consider going out with them.”
His laugh caught me off guard, it was loud, and grumbly. “Well, I’ll let the rest of the men know that you’re looking for someone with those qualities.”
“I’d prefer not to think of men in general.. Now, if you begin to run a fever, or if the wound turns red, or begins to leak any fluids, come back immediately. Other than that, you should be good to go.” I turned smiling to Angelo. “Thank you for your help. I-I hope you guys have a better rest of your day!” I turned, quickly making my way out of the room.
I made it back to my desk, clocking out for my break and pulling out my phone. I quickly messaged Heather, and told her everything that happened.
