Chapter 35 – He’s still alive

Madison’s POV

Before walking downstairs, I asked my father if I needed too could I make a call. He of course agreed because it is time to put an end to Maverick. A couple of years ago when my father took me with him, he entrusted a secret to me. I did not know the Jones family or Maverick, but I knew he was a despicable man to want his brother dead just for money and power. Now that I have had a personal run in with him and his daughter I understand my dads concern for Malachi back then. After talking to Jordan, I knew it was time for him to know the truth. So, I made the phone call and put it on speaker phone. You could her the older man voice say Hello!

You could see the shock on Jordan’s face to know that his uncle was still alive. I look around the room and see shock also on the other men in the room faces. I know they are unaware of what my father and uncle Henry did back then. They have kept Malachi safe all these years. I get up and walk away and allow Jordan to have a private moment with his uncle, because you could see the tears in his eyes knowing his uncle was still alive. I know what Jordan did to me was wrong and he help bring the chaos to our lives especially with helping Chloe out, but he deserves another chance. Either one of us would have made the same choices.

I walk over and and place my arms around Jayden’s waist. “You ok love?” Jayden ask. “Yes, I know it could put Malachi in danger, but I still feel like it was time to help release some of Jordan’s pain.” I say. Kissing the top of my headed Jayden nodded in agreement.

“We still have too many problems we must face. I think it is safe to say we have to take care of one lunatic at a time.” Christian says. “I agree” says Caleb. “I am not saying this out of jealousy, but we need to get rid of the b***h running around here stalking us trying to steal my husband. The man that was mine in the very beginning.” I say with a slight bit of annoyance in my voice. That really got a chuckle out of the men in the room. I just roll my eyes because I am serious that b***h got to go. Then we will deal with the rest one by one. “Listen I think we need to be precise with every move we make. I know it is not safe to leave a danger lurking out there but Maverick needs to be the last one we take care of. We need to make him sweat.” I say.

“Well, I agree that Chloe needs to be dealt with but after that I feel like we need to take a break. Take time to process and properly plan our next attack. It is dangerous to go up against a man like Maverick without a well thought out plan. He is running on greed and that makes him more unstable because he will stop at nothing to get what he wants. I will not put you or this family’s life in jeopardy.” Jayden says. “Sis I agree with Jayden even though it appears you are getting better day by day, I know deep down you are still struggling. I want you to have your retribution but not at the risk of your safety. Let’s regroup as a family before we strike. Let them bring the fight to us if they dare.” Christian says. I nod because I know there is no changing his mind once it is made up. Either of them for that matter.

“There is still the issue of the asshole suing you, Madison. We should have a plan because if he really moves forward, he might have a valid claim against you for deception. That could put you in a position to have to pay him. I am hoping we can get rid off him with some threats. Help him to understand how moving forward would make him lose more. Especially if we lodge the allegation of abuse that caused your miscarriage and then you also have the video his slut sent you along with other proof. A case like this is going to ball down to the judge we get so no matter how hard we fight it could go either way. The one thing that we have in our favor is the clause he put forth in the divorce. It clearly says that neither party can come after the other for assets once the divorce is final. So, like I said it is going to depend on the judge.” Caleb says.

“How in the world could you think that any judge out there will side with him after all he has done to her.” Jayden yells at Caleb. “Because I am being reasonable I know how the system works. On one hand she did lie about her true identity throughout their marriage. Then she wanted to put everything behind her and not make a such a public declaration to the things he had done to her. So instead of reporting him before she left the hospital, she let it go. All of this could play a little bit against us. I mean I am the best lawyer around, so I am not saying I want put up a fight but we need to be prepared. Even though Aiden is not as bad as Maverick he is still dangerous, because he is desperate to save his company.” Caleb says.

You can tell that everyone is deep in thought about what he just said. We are so engrossed in out thought we do not hear that Jordan has ended his phone call with his uncle. He clears his throat loud enough for us to hear. We all turn to look at him at the same time. “Thank you for allowing me to talk to my uncle one last time. I am glad that your family helped him so much back then. He kept all the threats and problems he was having with his brother a secret from us. I just wish he would have trusted us more back then and maybe we could have helped him.” Jordan says as his voice cracked. “Listen Jordan even though I do not agree with what you did. I understand why you did it. I will promise you today want be the last time you talk to your uncle. I believe in redemption, and I plan to give you the chance to make this right. Everyman in this room would have acted the same way you did even worse including my husband standing behind me shaking his head. I am granting you one last chance and then if I am satisfied you can be reunited with your uncle, because we are going to take Maverick down once and for all this time.” I say. I mean every word I said. I understand why me dad and uncle made the choice they did back then. But this time we need to rid the world of a parasite named Maverick. Jordan takes in everything I just said and then he speaks up again and you would not believe the story he just told us. We are all shocked by the new piece of information.
