Wyatt's pov

Wyatt didn’t know how long he had been sleeping, but the next thing he knew he was being shaken awake with Terry yelling in his ear.

“Wyatt! Hey Wyatt! Wake up, I think I found something!”

Wyatt sat up groggily and asked, “Terry, what time is it?”

“It’s 4:15 in the morning, but that is beside the point-”

“Have you even slept?”

“No but that is besides the point too. You have to read this.” He shoved a book in Wyatt’s face. It was an old leather bound book with parchment paper. he had it open to a passage near the end. As Wyatt began to read it, he sat up straighter with every word.

And when the world begins to change, a forbidden pair will be mated and they will create a forbidden child. The child will be born from the love of a wolf and a witch, but will be so much more than both. She will be the first of her kind, a hybrid of 4 species, when blood from her ancestors finally meet. Her gifts will be many because she also has the blood of the gods in her veins. Her mate will either make her or break her. She will either destroy the world or save us all.

Wyatt reread the passage again. He looked at Terry and told him to call Derek, he needed to read this since it was about his daughter after all. It only took Derek about fifteen minutes to run into Wyatt’s office with his hair a mess and his clothes wrinkled. Wyatt handed him the book and waited for him to read it. After he finished he looked at Wyatt with fear in his eyes.

“Wyatt, Lycans shift for the first time on the first full moon after they gain their Lycan. The first full moon for Piper is tonight.”

“s**t,” Wyatt said. “ I didn’t even think of that. I will have to be there with her tonight or the pain may take her over. I can help her with the pain through the mate bond.” He told Derek.

Derek looked at his watch. “It's five-o-clock in the morning. Piper is an early riser so she should be awake and dressed by seven. We will head over to my place and wait for her. Carla has a pot of coffee on and I bet she has something getting ready to go into the oven.”

They grabbed the book and left the office. Terry stopped and said, “Hey, I'm going to go and grab Bennett and we will meet you there.”

“Okay sounds good. Hey, will one of you drive that jeep over for her?” Wyatt asked.

“Roger that boss “ Terry said as he logged back towards the library.

Wyatt followed Derek down three flights of stairs and out the front door. They walked in silence through the pack, Derek carrying the book and Wyatt beside him.

Mate will need us for her shift. We need to convince mate to let us be there to ease some of her pain, Axel said.

We will be there regardless, Wyatt told Axel.

They approached a two story tan house with teal shutters and a wrap around covered porch. There were five stops up to the porch and each step had a pumpkin on it. As they began to climb the stairs, Carla opened the front door.

“Care for a cup of coffee, Alpha?” She asked.

“That would be fantastic Carla. It's been a long night,” he replied.

“We'll come into the kitchen and have a seat. I just took some pumpkin cream cheese muffins out of the oven and they are cooling on the table.” Carla put two small plates on the table and went to the cupboard to take three mugs down. She filled all three with coffee then set them and the pot on the table. She grabbed the cream and sugar and sat at the table with them.

Once they had all fixed their coffees, Carla broke the silence. “So what have you found?”

“Well Terry was up all night in the library and just found this book.” Derek slid the book across the table.

While Carla read the passage, there was a knock at the door. Wyatt got up to answer the door and let Terry and Bennett into the kitchen. Carla grabbed two more mugs and handed them to the boys. They filled their mugs and she started another pot of coffee. Once everyone was sitting around the table, Bennett broke the silence.

“So now what? What do we tell her?”

“You can start with the truth.”
