10 - THE EXAM

"Are you ready for your exam, Princess Erysthea?" Guardian Chase asked the princess the moment they entered the study room.
"Yes. Is it written or oral?" the princess asked.
Guardian Chase slightly smiled. It's one of the traits of the princess. She's always asking when there is an exam. It's like she doesn't want to get surprised by anything. She always wants to be ready.
"It's oral," he answered as he sat on his chair.
"Great. Shall we start now? I want to sleep early," the princess mumbled.
Princess Erysthea knew that during an exam day, if she finished it early, she could rest for the whole day. She wants to finish it so she can go to the Universal Academy again. She needs to talk again with the prince she met last night.
"You don't have enough sleep. I'm sorry if I put pressure on you about the three princes," her guardian said in a serious tone.
She looks at her guardian. "You don't have to. It's my responsibility, right?"
Guardian Chase nodded. It was almost three days since the princess hadn't complained about her studies or her responsibilities. He should be grateful now, but he is bothered. The princess is like a bomb. When it is not yet time, it is just silent. And when the time comes, it will explode, which will shake all of the people. He needs to know the thoughts of the princess before it explodes.
"Okay, let's start then."
Guardian Chase took the paper on which the questions were written. These questions were personally asked by the King and Queen. They want to know who among the three princes caught the attention of the princess.
"Who is the prince of Terra Kingdom?"
Princess Erysthea suddenly remembered the day she went outside of the palace. Her transportation brings her to the Terra Kingdom.
"It's Prince James," she answered, full of confidence.
"Aqua Kingdom?"
"Prince Zeus."
"And Aer Kingdom?"
"Prince Philip."
Guardian Chase nodded. It looks like the princess studied last night. She didn't confuse about the three. She has full confidence in answering the questions.
"Who's the eldest among the three?"
Princess Erysthea was a bit shocked. She thinks about the birthdays of the three and then she looks again to her guardian when she knows the answer.
"Prince Philip."
"Correct. Who has the most beautiful nose?"
"What? It's not written on the paper," Princess Erysthea complained.
"I know. But you need to answer based on your observation," Guardian Chase said.
The princess frowned. She can't tell who has the most beautiful nose unless she meets Prince Philip in person. It's hard to judge by pictures only. Well, no problem with the two because she already saw them, but this Prince Philip, she doesn't know.
"Well, I think it's Prince Zeus."
"How about the eyes? Who among the three has the most beautiful eyes?"
"It's Prince Philip."
"You know what, let's get straight to the real question," Guardian Chase said.
"What real question? Are you making fun of me?" Princess Erysthea asked madly.
"No. Who is among the three you want to marry?"
Princess Erysthea was speechless. She doesn't know how to answer this question. She doesn't even know why the exam is like this. She didn't imagine that the question would go this far. All she knows is that the questions were based on the papers she studied.
"Why do you ask that kind of question? Are you expecting me to choose from the three just based on the pictures? And why are you asking me that? Is that necessary when, in fact, I can't choose because there is a competition?"
Guardian Chase suddenly smiled. How he missed the rants and complaints of the princess.
"And now you're back, my Princess. Maybe you can also go back to your old self, about how you treated me before," he said in a serious tone.
Princess Erysthea was taken aback. She didn't know it would come out like this. She promised herself that she would never complain to her guardian. But look at it, she has already said many things.
"I miss you Princess Erysthea," Guardian Chase added.
