Jake woke up the next day, he yawned lazily and the thought of going to school scared him. He knew his video of him being humiliated by Maxwell must have spread round the school. The school premises was the last place he would like to be at the moment. He winced each time he tried to work. Walking towards the front of the mirror, Jake lifted up his clothes. His eyes opened wide when he saw that one of his side ribs was broken. He needed to visit the hospital. He got dressed and jammed his door. His dorm was just a few walks from the school ground but Jake was smart enough to know he had to be in a hoodie. He had walked a few meters from school when a black SUV car parked right in front of him. Initially, Jake was not bothered, he kept walking with the headset he had pressed against his ears. His hands inside the hoodie he wore as he tried to ignore the black car that was following right beside him. The car was moving at a pace he asked too. Suddenly Jake snapped and bolted. “ Get him but don't harm him.” the voice said, sitting back with a smile on his face. Jake ran like his life depends on it. He looked back each time he ran making sure he was far away from who he thought to be his enemies. When he was sure he was safe, he stood still to get his breath back. “ Who the f**k is that?” He said slowly, trying to breathe. Jake took a quick glimpse trying to see if he was bent pursued but then he felt a tap on the shoulder. Cold sweat ran down his spine with different thoughts. Did Maxwell decide to teach him another lesson? All sorts of thoughts engulfed his mind when he felt a black clothes pulled over his face. “ We got him!” One of the men shouted and Jake was bundled like a bag of potatoes. “ Let me go! I am sorry. I know I should not have..” “ Keep your voice down, will you?” A voice said angrily. Jake winced each time as he felt a sharp pain to his side. He was taken into the car and the hoodie was removed. “ Jake Milton? We have been searching for you for a very long time. I think your father would be glad we found you.” The voice said “ Wait, what? you have got the wrong person. My father is dead. I am an orphan, please let me go.” Jake pleased “ Let's go.” The man ordered and the car roared back to life. The driver drove like a maniac as Jake began to fight his way through the car. He threw a few weak punches at the men who dodge them. “ We don't want to hurt you, Jake.” The leader said with a grin face. “ We are actually doing you a favour so I will advise you to stop all of this.” He said with a stern face. “ Stop? You had me kidn*pped against my wish and you want me to stop. My father will never ask you to kidnap me against my wish!” Jake shouted and landed a huge blow to the man’s face. “ Jesus Christ! He broke my nose.” The man said with anger. “ That is it Jake Milton.” He said, grabbing a white handkerchief. “ My name is not Jake Milton. My name is..” he slowly suffocated and was motionless. “ Finally.” the man said with anger. He cleaned his nose and looked at his minions. “ What the hell are you looking at?” he snapped at them. [ HALF AN HOUR ] Jake woke up and his mouth dropped in awe. “ Where are we?” He asked as he set his foot on the ground. The look was breathtaking and everything he was seeing seemed too good to be true. It was like he was in a wonderland. As Jake stepped out of the car, his eyes widened in awe at the breathtaking sight before him. The house was a majestic mansion, its grandeur and beauty leaving him speechless. The mansion's facade was a masterful blend of modern and classical architecture, with towering columns, sweeping arches, and intricate stone carvings. The exterior walls were a warm, honey-colored stone, glistening in the sunlight like a golden treasure. As Jake's gaze wandered, he noticed the meticulously manicured lawns, adorned with vibrant flowers, towering trees, and sparkling fountains. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming roses and the soft chirping of birds, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The mansion's entrance was a grand, sweeping staircase, flanked by two imposing stone lions. The front doors, made of solid mahogany, were adorned with intricate carvings and polished to a high shine. As Jake stepped inside, he was struck by the interior. The foyer was a grand, high-ceilinged space, with a stunning chandelier hanging from the center of the ceiling. The walls were adorned with priceless artwork, and the floors were made of polished marble, reflecting the light like a mirror. Jake's eyes wandered, taking in the lavish decor, the plush furnishings, and the stunning views of the surrounding gardens. He felt like he had stepped into a fairy tale, a world of wonder and magic. "Welcome to your new home, Jake," a voice said, breaking the spell. Jake turned to see a tall, imposing figure standing before him, a hint of a smile on his face. "Who are you?" Jake asked, his voice barely above a whisper. "I am your guardian, Jake," the man replied, his eyes glinting with a hint of warmth. "And this is your new home, where you will be safe and protected." Jake's mind reeled as he tried to process the revelation. What did this man mean by "guardian"? And why was he being kept here, in this magnificent mansion? The questions swirled in his mind, but before he could ask any of them, the man turned and walked away, leaving Jake to wonder who he was. “ What about my father? You told me I was meeting him.” The man turned back and said nothing leaving Jake scared.
