The Alpha's Ballerina Mate

Sunday Funday

I woke up Sunday morning excited to start the day with my family. When I was a child Sundays were family days because it was my dads only day off work. During the summers we spent Sundays by the pool, grilling delicious meats. During winter we would watch movies, have game nights and sometimes play in the snow even though we rarely get a good enough blanket of snow this far south to play in.

I head downstairs to help my mom cook breakfast. I had two cups of coffee while helping cook, so I was hyper and ready to start the day. After we ate we all decided to shift and go on a family run closer to the pack house this time because of yesterday's events. Kim decided to stay back with Mallory, she said she was still a little too nervous to go out running again. It was a little cooler today but the wind still felt amazing blowing through my fur.

Kim already had Monopoly, Battleship and The Game of Life sat up to play once we came back. She had already sat out some snacks and appetizers on the kitchen island for us to pick at too. I gave her a quick side hug as I came in to clean up.

"Your amazing Kim, what did we do to deserve you in our lives?" I asked her.

"I must have done something right in a past life," Micheal says from behind me. Taking Kim into his arm and kissing her passionately.

"Go get washed up babe, you stink now" Kim said giggling and trying to walk away. Only to be pulled back by Micheal and him hugging her tightly.

"There now you stink too" Micheal says before running out the door, presumably to go take a shower.

After taking a shower myself I decided to put on my elf costume for Mallory, I know she will love dressing up with me. It is getting close to Christmas and I really feel in the spirit this year. Mom has the whole house decorated inside and out. Tomorrow is also the Winter Solstice which is a big deal for werewolves. It being the longest night of the year we are free to roam and hunt for more hours without the possibility of being spotted by humans or hunters. There is usually a party and pack run that the Alpha family holds every year. The only year it has ever been canceled was the year the former Luna, Lilly Black died.

I was playing blocks with Mallory in the sunroom while was watching Cocomelon on the TV when Malcom came in and started playing with us. He seemed quite so I asked if everything was okay.

"I met my mate" he said with sorrow laced in his voice.

"That's great, why do you seem so depressed? Did she reject you?" I asked, hoping I was wrong.

"No, she's human. She didn't know about supernaturals or why her feelings are so deep for me all of a sudden. We have been friends for years but I didn't know that she was my mate till September when I first shifted." I nodded in understanding.

"So, I'm guessing you haven't told her she's your mate?" I asked

"I tried, she freaked out. Now she won't take my calls." He said

"Oh. Have you tried going over to her house? Have you done everything in your power to try to make her listen?"

He just looked up at me with wide eyes. "I take that as a no...." I said under my breath.

"First Malcom, you need to go over to her house. See if she will talk to you in person. She might just need more time to process. Finding out that there are supernatural beings living around you unseen is a lot to take in. Then, tell her how much you love her, even if she doesn't return that love, tell her and show her. Even if she doesn't want to see you send flowers. Even if she doesn't want to hear from you send her an 'I love you, goodnight' text. Don't overstep your boundaries or make her feel uncomfortable but show her that you love her and that you will be there, when SHE is ready." As I finished my speech he grabbed me in a tight hug and said he would try. I really hope it works out for him, I love my brothers to pieces.

"Hey guys, Micheal said he is running behind so we can go ahead and start The Game of Life without him." Kim yelled from the living room.

I was about to win, only two more moves when Micheal came in. With a huff he sat down beside Kim and said "Daniel wants y'all to go in and talk to him. He has more questions about the rouge attack." He puts his face in the crook of Kim's neck and inhales deeply, visibly calming at the action. "It shouldn't take to long if we go now" Micheal says, his face still buried in the crook of Kim's neck.

For some reason I felt nervous, I'm never nervous... I preform intricate ballets in front of thousands of people a night and get lost in thought during performances. Why would I be nervous meeting a childhood friend again? He's my brothers best friend, why should I be so nervous to see a person I've known my whole life?

Micheal, Kim and I rode our golf cart to the pack house to meet with Alpha Daniel. As we ride past a courtyard I see some Omegas setting up tables and chairs for the Winter Solstice party tomorrow night. I look closer and notice a memorial being set up for Luna Lilly too.

Micheal parks the golf cart by a side door of the pack house and we enter through the kitchen. I took a deep breath trying to calm my nerves, but I noticed a strange but alluring smell. It smells like the forest after a heavy rain mixed with mint. Its so refreshing and somehow sweet smelling at the same time. I inhaled deep again, earning a confused look from Micheal.

"Whats that smell?" I asked them. "Do you smell it too?"

"I dont smell anything different," Micheal said glancing at me confused again. "What does it smell like?"

I inhaled deep another time, calming my nerves a little more, the smell helps my nervousness somehow.

"It smells like the forest after it rains, mixed with mint. Its intoxicating!" I said. They glanced at eachother with knowing looks.

"What is it?" I asked. "Nothing" they responded in unison.

Well that was weird. my wolf, Rose says

Agreed. I said back

Micheal knocks on Alpha Daniel's office door. Looking at me strangely again. What is going on?

"Come in" is said from the other side of the door, presumably Alpha Daniel. His voice sends a shiver down my spine. Micheal opens the door and he and Kim walk in first saying "Hey" as they take a seat.

As soon as I walk in the door I'm pushed against the wall by someone. They smell like that intoxicating scent that has been invading my senses ever since I walked in the building. I slowly lift my head to look at whoever pushed me up against the wall and make eye contact with Alpha Daniel. His bright green eyes sparkling down at me.

Mate!
