He doesn't want to scare her away with too many problems. Natalie was thinking about the statement Calista made that she wouldn't stay with him for long. “What does she mean by that?” She asked herself.
Ezekiel was also lost in his thoughts. None of them are having lunch because of what happened. Ezekiel went back to his seat.
They worked silently till it was time to go home. Natalie left the office first,she didn't bother to wait for Ezekiel.
Ezekiel could see that she's not happy,he felt sad for not telling her all this before she signed the contract.
He got to his car and Natalie was nowhere to be found,he was becoming afraid thinking something bad had happened to her.
He remembered he installed a tracker on her phone,the tracker is connected to his phone so he checked his phone and saw that she's already at his place.
He was rest assured that nothing bad happened to her. He decided to tell her everything,he doesn't want to keep her in the dark anymore.
He left the office and went home. Calista could see that they didn't go home together,she was so happy thinking her plan is working already. “Let's see her reaction to what I did,” she said, talking to herself.
Back at the house,Natalie was in her room looking devastated. She felt like Ezekiel fooled her when he said he just wanted her to be his contracted wife.
To her, what happened at the office is more than being a contracted wife. “That woman is trouble,” she said to herself.
Meanwhile, Ezekiel is back home but he doesn't see anyone. A maid was passing by,he called her and asked about Natalie, “She's in her room sir,” the maid answered him.
Ezekiel went to his room to freshen up and prepared his mind to tell Natalie nothing but the truth. “Why am I feeling like she will divorce me when it is just a contract?”, “Am I falling for her, not this time,” he shaked the thought away from his head.
Natalie was thinking of a way out when she heard a knock on her door. Before she could talk,she heard his voice, “It's Ezekiel,can I come in?”.
“Yes,you can,” she answered him. He came in and saw her laying on the bed. She didn't say anything,he walked over to the bed and sat down at the edge.
Natalie looked at him and said nothing,she just kept staring at him to talk but Ezekiel was just looking at the floor with nothing to say.
“Will you talk or be quiet forever?” Natalie said to him feeling angry because he did talk.
“Ummmmm,” Ezekiel cleared his throat, “I'm sorry for what happened at the office,I didn't know she would come around,” he said to her, still looking down.
Natalie was still expecting him to tell her the truth but she doesn't want to be forward so she kept calm to hear what he has to say next.
“I was supposed to tell you the truth when I told you to sign the contract,I was afraid you would say no if you heard what I had to say then,” he said looking at her.
“What does Calista want from you if I may ask?” Natalie asked him, waiting for his answer.
“What actually happened was that I married her some years ago, I married her because I loved her but she married me because she wanted to ruin my life,” he said with a low voice.
He explained how everything happened, from being happy couples to rivals before he divorced her.
“My last contract bride was kidnapped and killed by Calista, I don't know what her gain is in all what she's doing.”
Natalie was already crying, Ezekiel noticed she wasn't talking so he lifted up his head and he could see her sweating and soaked with tears.
“I didn't mean to make you cry by what I said, I'm sorry Natalie,” he said feeling regretful.
Natalie hugged him and he looked surprised. “I promise to stay with you till all this trouble is over,” Natalie said.
Ezekiel was expecting her to say she wasn't interested anymore but here she is making a promise to stay with him.
“You can cancel the contract once she's behind bars but for now we must make sure she loses all her power and gets punished lawfully,” Natalie said.
Ezekiel was just looking at her stunned,he was expecting her to say all what she's saying.
He moved close to her and kissed her on the lip, Natalie looked at him surprised.
He noticed her expression and said, “I'm sorry I didn't ask for your consent,” before he talked and Natalie kissed him back hard.
Ezekiel looked at her and smiled, “I love the confidence you showed at the office, I think I like you already,” Ezekiel said.
Natalie was looking at him as if she was dreaming,she didn't answer him back and just smiled back at him.
She wasn't sure of her feelings at that time, so Ezekiel kissed her this time more desperately.
She just went with the flow and the rest was history.
They spent the night together and it was a memorable one for both of them.
The next morning, Natalie woke up in Ezekiel's arms. Ezekiel isn't awake yet, she looked at him and smiled.
Ezekiel was about to open his eyes. Natalie quickly closed hers, pretending to still be sleeping.
Ezekiel opened his eyes, he saw Natalie sleeping in his arms and he smiled. He kissed her forehead and placed her gently on the bed.
He didn't want to wake her up, he then left to get ready for work. When he was out of her room, Natalie opened her eyes.
She was feeling embarrassed to look at him because of what transpired between them yesterday night.
She got up to freshen up and get ready for work too. When she is done, she's afraid of facing Ezekiel. “I shouldn't have allowed that to happen,” she said to herself.
While busy thinking, she heard a knock on her door. “Come in,” she said.
Ezekiel went inside smiling at her, she smiled back but she wasn't facing him.
“Are you ready?” He asked her. “Just give me a little more time, I will meet you before you get to the car,” she said.
He noticed she was behaving somehow but he wasn't concerned about it since they weren't fighting.
Before he got to the car, she met him, but she wasn't looking in his direction, he began to worry about her expression, “ Did I do something wrong?” He asked himself.
