I never felt anxiety as bad as the day I had to volunteer Nótos. One, the demons were quite aggressive in demanding blood. It was like the blood was their addiction. And the fact that I was a human wasn't helping much. The noseless demon made sure to send all the messed-up demons to my counter. And not to mention the cold environment Nótos had. I was literally freezing myself in here. And the dress I was wearing provided me little protection. When some were aggressive, others were simply rude. Some had less money while others had simply no money. And according to the rules, I can't provide them with blood without charging them for the coins fixed by the nose-less demon. And since they can't disrespect the nose-less demon, they try to hurt me. "You, mortal, get me fifty ounces of blood." He asked me and I licked my lips, pointing towards the rate card. "Please pay the coins and I'll get you the blood bag. Do you have any preferences?" I asked him, trying my best to keep my heart and fear under control. The demon actually looked more like a human. He had no traits or features that could differentiate him from us, humans. Except the fact that he just called me mortal, of course. "I do have preferences, human, but I don't have coins. Might as well sneak a bag of blood in. I am sure that old grouchy demon won't know." He said, leaning over the counter, and I gulped when he came too close to me. "Please keep a respectable distance between us, Sir. And I'm afraid I can't provide you with a blood bag without the payment." I said, and his eyes flashed red. Yep, definitely not human. And I wasn't even done judging the demon in front of me when I was slammed back against the wall. His claws were digging in my skin, drawing out my blood. I tried to push him away but I was nowhere near his strength. "Maybe then I can drink your blood, human. You have fresh, warm blood running in your veins. How can these frozen and preserved blood stand anywhere near the blood running inside you?" He asked me and my eyes widened as I shook my head. "And you're cold, human. Maybe I can provide you some warmth as well." His words made me feel nauseous. I tried to push him away but his claws only kept digging deeper in my flesh, making me cry out in pain. "Leave me! You're hurting me!" "And you taste so good. It's been a while I had blood from a living human being." He said, licking his fingers and I felt bile rising in my body. What the hell is wrong with demons here? Why are Basilia, Sir Ajax not like them? Why are demons here not like Basilia and Sir Ajax? "This is against the law! Satan had ordered not to hurt me. You can't break the law. You can't go against your own King." "Who said that, human?" He asked me, his claws digging in my abdomen, soaking my white dress red as blood gushed out of my wounds and my eyes clenched shut in pain. "I did, Dimitri." A loud, angry voice roared from behind. And Dimitri was quick to leave me, his fingers were no longer holding me. And my body lost the support and fell down. Before I could've hit the ground, a pair of arms wrapped around my waist, saving me from falling down. My teary eyes met his golden ones. This was the first time his fingers touched me. His fingers were hot against my cold skin, making it burn. I was breathing harshly, as it was getting difficult to breathe considering how deep his claws had made the damage inside me. "Who sent you here, human?" Satan asked me and I clenched my eyes shut when the pain became unbearable. "Ba—Basilia. Can you..... can you please take me back? It's hurting too much here. And it's too cold." I shuddered out, trying to keep my eyes open. He seemed reluctant to agree to my words. But he did. When he looked down at the amount of blood that had gushed out of my abdomen. "Of course, human. Hold on to me. Tightly. And Jared, get Dimitri into the dungeons. Ask Basilia to follow too. And everybody else who were involved to get this mortal in here." Satan growled as he lifted me up his arms. I closed my eyes shut as I shook my head. "Basilia is innocent, Satan. She.... she....." "Shut up, human. You can barely talk. And I am the one who take decisions here. And if you're going to die on me, tell me now." He said to me and I clenched my jaw in anger. What kind of man is he? "If I cuss on you now, will I be punished?" I asked him, glaring at the man holding me. He simply raised his eyebrows at me, making me swallow harshly. "Severely, human. So don't even think about it. And I'll be moving...... fast. So keep your eyes shut. I don't what you to feel the speed now. Especially when you're hurt." He said to me and I nodded my head, closing my eyes. He lifted his hand and pushed my head in his chest, making my heart to thump loudly. What the hell was happening to me? And then I felt like wind blew us away. In a blink of an eye, we were in a different room. It was not mine and it definitely did not belong to Satan. "Can you hear me, human?" He asked me and I nodded my head. "He chucked out flesh of my stomach, Satan. He didn't rip off my ears." I said and he rolled his eyes. Satan, the Sire rolled his eyes. "He should have ripped off your tongue though!" I heard him mumbling under his breath before turning to look at me. "The doctors are on their way. Stay strong till then, human."
