Standing before Harald was the beauty that haunted his dreams. Her smell filled his senses and his nerves immediately calmed with the sensation. He realized that she must not smell him because of the mist from the waterfall that was pushing all scents outwards, including her sweet scent. He gazed at her longingly. “You’re hiding in the bushes like a creep.” retorted Bruno.
Just as his wolf said that, the object of his desires started to undress. “Well I can’t walk out there now, then she will definitely think I’m a creep. We’re stuck.” said Harald to Bruno. Bruno snorted, “This is Voyeurism I hope you know that.” Harald replied in a coy tone, “She’s our mate, remember. Besides, what if we leave her here alone like that and some rogue shows up or something? We have to protect her.” Bruno let out a low growl and Harold knew he had won and shut his wolf up for now. He didn’t want to ruin anything with this girl but he couldn’t pull himself away from the vision before him.
She had taken almost every stitch of clothing off and all that was left was a pair of light blue underwear lined with lace and a white strappy bra. Her long curls fell halfway down her back. Her full luscious thighs glowed in the moonlight and her hips were beckoning him. He wanted to join her so badly, to hold her warm curves as close to him as possible, to kiss those heart shaped lips and breathe her in entirely. If only he knew how she would react. There she stood in front of him, completely naked now, and he couldn’t possibly love her more. She started singing as she back stroked through the water. He listened intently and melted at the sound of her singing. His mate had a beautiful voice as well.
Davina stripped down and waded out into the dark tranquil water. It enveloped her like a silky second skin. The temperature was perfect. It felt like wading through air. The gentle waves relaxed her completely. She thought of her mate and fantasized about him being there with her. She wanted to jump into his arms. She floated on her back as she imagined his hands holding her up while she was in the water and what she wouldn’t give for him to be there with her right now. She began to sing one of her favorite songs as she envisioned him holding her. After she had her fill of swimming she called for Lexy, “Ready to run?” Lexy perked up as she began to transform into her wolf. This time was much less painful and also faster. Lexy gathered the clothes in her mouth and took off in the direction of aunt Davina’s cottage.
Harold watched his mate emerge from the water like a singing siren as she began to transform. Her voice transcended from singing to a longing howl as she transformed into a magnificent onyx wolf. Her coat was nothing short of vanta black. His wolf stirred uncomfortably as he suppressed the desire to howl along with her. “Oh she’s going to spot us. I’ll fall back a distance and follow her home to make sure she gets there safely.” thought Harold.
Lexy thoroughly enjoyed the run home, leaping around occasionally and scaring the daylights out of a few sleeping birds. When they arrived at the edge of the forest, Lexy dropped the clothes from her mouth and began the shift back into human form. Davina stretched and sighed before pulling her clothes back on. She felt refreshed and renewed. The only thing missing was her mate. She jogged towards the cottage and bounded up the steps joyfully.
Harald watched from a distance as his mate stopped behind a cozy looking cottage and transformed back into a lovely, curvy woman. He hated to see her go but was grateful that he knew where she lived now. He would search the forest every night for her if he had to. He knew he couldn’t just keep watching her though. He knew he needed to make a move, and soon, before Bruno made the decision for him.
Davina walked inside to find that aunt Carly had fallen asleep in the recliner with the “i***t box” still playing. She decided to leave it on and grabbed a quilt from the closet to cover aunt Carly so that she wouldn’t get chilled. She took a quick shower to wash away the prior adventures from that night and changed into some comfy pajamas. She felt guilty that she hadn’t got back in time to say good night to aunt Carly, so she decided to sit with her for a little bit. Davina was watching a science fiction show on the television about agents who investigate the supernatural and she stayed up for a little while before her eyes started to get heavy and she finally decided to go to bed. Aunt Carly seemed to be sleeping peacefully so Davina let her be and quietly eased into her room so that she could also catch some sleep.
In the morning, Davina joined aunt Carly for breakfast to have some grits and eggs. Davina hummed cheerfully as she fixed herself a cup of cappuccino to go with breakfast. Aunt Carly looked her up and down studying the odd behavior before she grinned and spoke, “So, who’s the lucky fella?” Davina froze, knowing that she’d been discovered. She turned around slowly and laughed nervously.
“Well.. it’s kind of complicated. We’ve seen one another but haven’t had any time alone to talk.. You see, we are sort of in an odd position right now. He’s one of my instructors at warrior training..” Davina said admittedly. Aunt Carly listened and examined the situation.
“Well it won’t matter for much longer because you’ll be out from under Richard’s thumb and then you two can be together openly. That warrior training program isn’t that long either. It’ll be over by the time you graduate.” Aunt Carly said with a hopeful smile. Davina responded, “You’re right about that.” while deliberating another issue: if she didn’t make a move somehow then she would run out of time and she had no clue where her mate lived or if he even felt the same. She had a lot of questions. She remembered how he killed the gully drake, most likely saving her life. “But what if he was just doing his job? What if he can’t sense me for some reason?” she thought to herself, growing increasingly worried.
