Laura's POV
I didn’t understand at all. This woman took their home away and then got them fired to make them live in the woods just to get to me. This situation is really weird right now. I called Miller on the phone and asked him to come to the kingdom. I needed to speak with him, and he can bring his mate as well. I knew they were still building their pack and they have a long way to go. Since we caught the spies that were making the build harder than it should have been, he had built the houses before the pack house so his members could have a place to live. Now they are working on the pack house, and he still has a ways to go. It should take up to a year or two, but we will see. He has some pretty good builders helping him. Now we are waiting for him to get here. After the rogue friends arrived, Xander told them the rules: there won't be any more chances. Break them and you die, as simple as that.
“NO stealing, no hurting other people, do not be disloyal to your king and queen." There were many more rules, but if I just stood there listing them all, they would have been standing there all day. Xander took them to their new house. I knew they had ten rooms, four bathrooms, a large kitchen, and a living room. They could do what they wanted to the house because it was theirs to keep. The rent will be work—you work for the king. I knew a few of them wanted to train to become warriors or royal guards. So, good for them. An hour later, Miller arrived with his mate.
“So, what's the rush that I had to stop the build? Is everything okay?”
“No, not really. Miller, is Cherry a witch? What color hair and eyes does she have?” He looked confused when I asked him this, so he told me.
"She had bright red hair and eyes that look black but they are really dark brown. No, she's not a witch, but she can make you think she is. You will rip your life apart if you don't do what she says. Why all the questions? You're not still thinking I'm with her, are you? Because I have my mate, and we are building a home and a pack together. I would never go back to that woman. I can't stand her and what she did to our old alpha. We can't prove that she did it, but we all know she was the one who poisoned him for the alpha crown. No one dares to say anything—they're all scared of her.
"Well, we're not scared of her. Something needs to be done. Do you think she will try anything the night of the ball?"
“I bet my right hand that she will do anything possible to ruin that night, even try to mate with your mate. She likes to ruin people's lives and laugh in their faces. She likes power."

LeeAnn, have you figured out when you want this ball to happen? I'm sure she is going to want to come and try and make a mess of everything, and I am going to be right there in the center of everything.” I saw her smirk. She knew how I was when I lived in the kingdom. I don't like backing down. She is going to have the shock of her life when trying to mess with me. I'm sick of wondering what's going on with my life. I still feel like there are bits and pieces that I can't remember, but I know it will come to me,
