Chapter 38

Laura's POV

Jasper wasn't kidding when he told me that the expansion of the hotel would take a few years, and boy, it is. I'm not in any rush or in a hurry, but the kitchen was finally done. It looked beautiful, and so did the dining room. We still had the quick breakfast area, where they could prepare their own food if they preferred to. If they didn’t want to sit down and be served, they could have a quick breakfast. The kitchen had two large sinks: one for rinsing off veggies or other foods, and the other for washing dishes. These two sinks were separate. We had a rack for hanging pots and pans, hooks for cooking tools, and a separate area for dishes, making it easier for the staff. We also had three large stoves, three walk-in freezers and refrigerators, ample room for the cooks to move around without bumping into each other, prep tables, and a counter for grabbing food to take to the customers. The dining room had fifty tables, with the option to add more. That's how big the dining room is. There was a piano in the corner, with a hired musician to play when the room was full. We had candles in the middle of the tables, although they were not real candles; they would light up when someone sat down. Light blue tablecloths adorned the tables, with wine glasses on top, the silverware carefully laid out, and napkins wrapped around them. Each waitress or waiter would have ten tables assigned, with the option to help each other. It would be their choice if they wanted to split tips or not. I also had photos on the walls and, believe it or not, a large fish tank with a few fish swimming about. Now, all I need to do is help decorate the hall for the mating ball that Leeann wants to hold. We can accommodate about six packs, but they won't bring all their members, only the unmated individuals in the hope of finding their mate. Preece was behind the desk, smiling as she looked down at her phone. I walked up to her, never having seen her this happy before.

“Hey, what's making you smile so big tonight? Is everything okay with you?”

“Yes, everything is good. My mate is coming to keep me company tonight. I hope that's okay.”

“Of course, it's okay, as long as he stays out of your job. You still have to work even though he is here, okay?”

“Yes, ma'am, I understand. I found a pack that wanted me to join. I found out that their beta is my mate. Since he's off duty at ten tonight, he will be here to keep me company.” I wondered what pack she joined. It's only been a few weeks, and I will know if she's lying. So far, I haven't felt that, but I wanted to make sure she is okay with this guy. So I asked her,

“If you don't mind me asking, what pack did you join?” Her eyes lit up because I wanted to know. How nice that was.

It's the Blue Moon Pack. The alpha is really nice. Since he hasn't found his mate yet, he will be coming to the mating ball. I'm not sure if you've heard of him, but he's Alpha Drew Mackin. His pack really isn't that big at all, and that's what I like. I'm not sure if I even know an Alpha Drew, but I'll ask Jasper about him.

"Alright, Preece, Lucy should be here at five in the morning to relieve you. I'm going to get going. If you need anything, just give me a call, and I'll be right here, okay?" She nodded and then said, "Yes, ma'am." Jasper was waiting outside for me in the car. I got in, and he drove off. I asked him if he knew Alpha Drew Mackin from the Blue Moon Pack. He thought about it for a few minutes, then said, "Yeah, we've only talked a few times. The poor guy hasn't found his mate yet, and he's 25 now. Don't get me wrong, he's had his share of females, but he won't stop until he finds his mate. I stated that the wrong way - he won't stop looking for her. I remember a witch tried to trick him, but he caught on. He killed her for trying to trick him into thinking that she was his mate. His pack might grow once he finds his luna, but right now, it's not that big.

"Well, he's coming to the mating ball. He wants to find his mate, so you will get to see him again then. Maybe we can do a treaty with him, but that's up to you."

Cherry POV:

My spies had told me there was going to be a mating ball in that girl's hotel. Alright, well, I need to think of something. I'll just walk right in there and see if I can get her. I know a few others in my pack want to see me get her power. Now all I have to do is make my plan. I need to find a nice dress just to keep everyone from thinking I was there to cause trouble. I need to dye my hair so Miller and the others won't recognize me. I have my plan. Now I have to figure out how to get her. I already have a room for her. It will stay locked, with only one window for air. The door had a sliding door, so I could slide food into her room. I have it all set. There's a small window on the door as well. It will stay dark until I am ready for her to see me. That’s all set. Let's see what will happen once I get her.
