Chapter 12

Laura's POV

I really wasn't trying to be rude at all, but I really didn't know them. They say that I am the luna that has been in their pack. I came from the kingdom. Maybe they are telling the truth. I know that girl Mila was telling me the truth. I don't know how I can tell, but I can. When Jasper asked me if he could walk me to my door, man, I really wanted him to, but I wasn't going to be that easy. So, I said, “I think it's best if we say good night here. It's been fun, but we can say good night right here. I'm not trying to be a b***h, but I don't know you at all. Maybe when I get to know you, I will let you walk me to my door. Then I invited them here tomorrow for a tour. I'm going to need to have Lucy show me around so I can remember everything that's here. I knew I hurt him; I could tell when I looked into his eyes. What I really wanted was his arms around me. I felt a want from him, I felt love. I wish I knew what love was, but right now I needed to get my memory back.

“I will see all of you tomorrow. How about at three in the afternoon? I think I will be done with the interviews by then. Make sure you bring your swimsuits; you can take a swim in the pool. We will have a BBQ as well. So, if you want, you can bring a few more people, okay?” What I was really doing was just trying to be nice. I told them to drive safely, and I will see them tomorrow. I hurried to walk into the lobby. Lucy was at the front desk using the computer. She looked up when I walked inside.

“Lucy, you have got to show me around this place. Put the closed sign up and show me around. I'm not sure if I remember any of this, but I need to know where everything is. I have some people coming tomorrow for a tour around three in the afternoon.” She laughed as she closed up, then she walked me around the whole darn hotel, and trust me, there's a whole lot that I didn't know. There's a gym, a game room, even a nursery. She told me that the nursery is for the pups and kits when the parents are training in the gym. Human children cannot enter there; they have a whole different section for the human kids. You already know the kitchen and the dining room. All the rooms have a lock system. Once you enter, only you can unlock the door by waving your hand over a pad. It's the reason for the keys. The key is only for visual purposes, but your key can only unlock all the doors.”

“Wait, when I got here, you asked if I lost my key, and you usually charged for another key. If you knew who I was, why would you say that to me?”

Laura, when I looked at you, I knew there was something wrong, so I had to play the part. When you called me up to your room to talk, everything came into place because that's when you told me everything. Plus, you have never stayed away from the hotel for so long. "The key I gave you is the same key you always give me when you leave," I knew she was telling me the truth. It's strange, but I knew. I had voices in my head again. I wish they would stop talking; it seems they just would not shut up.

"Sassy Wolf," girl, you even have a place where new shifters can shift without the humans hearing. Ask her to show you.

"Sissy Car," I would like to know where that place is. Maybe you and Jasper can share a moment, if you get what I mean. Meow, I want to laugh. It seems Sissy has a crush on Jasper. I think Sassy does, too, because I swear I could picture her wagging her tail. I had to ask Lucy.

"Lucy, where is that place I have here where new shifters can shift for the first time without humans hearing them? And these voices in my head are driving me crazy. They say they are my wolf and cat. Am I just going crazy, or is this for real?" She started laughing as she patted my arm. We started walking again. I guess she's going to show me the place where everyone shifts or something, then she starts telling me things.

Laura, now I know you don't have your memory because if you did, you would already know everything. First off, your wolf is named Sassy, and trust me, she is a sassy girl. She likes to come forward and watch everyone. She's always done that; she's doing it right now. You just can't tell, but if you look into a mirror, you will see her eyes. They are light blue with a little gold around them. Now for your cat, I am not sure; I have never met her. You will have to ask Jasper about her. See over there, you picked that spot for others to come and shift so the humans wouldn't be able to hear or the hunters to know where they are at. You also have a safe room for everyone to go to. Would you like to see it? It’s a safe room for all the women who come here to get away from their abusive relationships. You once said you never want anyone to go through what you went through with your ex, whose name was Chef. I met him a few times. He seemed nice, but he started being really mean to you. He wouldn't let you come by yourself; he wanted you to sell this place so you could stay home, but you wouldn't. We did hide a few women here until they could get to some safe place. Here is the room as you can see — it looks like a house. Here's the living room, the dining room, a kitchen, a bedroom, a bathroom. But if you click on this button right here, another room appears. This room is to hide them just in case the husband or boyfriend comes to look for them. All I could think about right now is: wow, we did this for other people; this is amazing. After we left the rooms, she showed me out back where there was a large pool. We left there, where she showed me where an indoor pool was as well, but this one was larger. I saw tables and chairs around the pool area, even a small stage. I guess for bands to play. Then she showed me a large hall; there was nothing inside.

"Lucy, there's nothing inside this room. Why do we have it here if there's nothing inside?"

“Because we have it for parties, or dances, even mating balls, but it's been three years Laura, we haven’t had anything in here for a long time, I think it's about that time we have a ball here what do you think?” i wasn't sure about a ball, how do i even start on a ball, s**t there is just so much to do, i just didn't know what to do anymore, All I wanted now was to just sleep and start the day tomorrow with the interviews,

“Let me think about this, I need to get some sleep for tomorrow, Thank you for showing me around my own hotel, i gave a small laugh, I just hope my memory comes back soon, im tired of not knowing things im tired of it, Hugging my friend goodnight, I went to my room to shower and sleep, that night I went into a deep sleep, I ended up dreaming that I was in the woods the place Lucy showed me, it looked beautiful in the day time. there was large bushes that was around the area with red flowers on them, i saw bees going to take their nectar, i saw monkeys in the trees with large birds flying in the sky, i saw squirrels running around burying their nuts in the ground,

‘No, my child, you did nothing wrong. You did everything right. The higher-ups are impressed with you. When they thought you weren't going to go back to where you started, you did. You gained a power, honey; the power of knowing if someone is telling the truth. You have your memories back for now, but once you wake up, they will be gone. However, yes, there is a 'but'. You will slowly start to gain them back. You will gain another power: you will have four – one you already have. The other three involve bringing an object to you without getting up and getting it, driving someone insane by making them hear voices in their head, and calling on nature to help you. The higher-ups say you will have six powers. One will allow you to make things explode, and another will enable you to see the future. You must be careful, Laura; people will want to trap you to use that power.”

“Selena, I miss my mate. I know he's upset that I don't remember him; I can feel him in my heart.”

“He will be okay, Laura. He will be here tomorrow with his sister and friends. He misses you too, but that's all I can tell you, honey; you need to get back.”

“What will be my first memory?” She sighed as she looked into my eyes, still holding my hands. I knew she couldn't tell me; I would have to find out on my own.

“I'm sorry, honey, I can't tell you that. But I can say that you will start gaining them back. You will start having flashes, and then you will remember. It's time for you to go back.” She kissed my cheek, and I was back in my bed. My alarm started going off. Damn, I needed to get up and start getting ready for the day.
