Chapter 47

I had to hurry. I looked at the address, put it in my GPS, and then I sped off. This wasn't the time to shift and run. I had to drive there because I had no clue where this place was. I drove for an hour, then hit a dirt road. I thought it would be easy since the first part was gravel. Then suddenly, it was dirt, and oh my goddess, it was bumpy. I hoped my tires would hold up on this road. Then it was gravel for a few minutes, then dirt again. Was I going in circles, or was someone trying to stop me from getting there? When I didn't give up, the GPS told me to turn right up ahead, and I would be at my destination. Well, I surely hope so because this journey would be a pain in my ass if it took me to a dead end. After driving for a few more minutes, I finally saw a lady waiting for something. It looked like she was waiting for me to get there. It's pretty crazy. When I drove up to her, I turned the car off and got out. She didn't shake my hand; she hugged me tightly like she knew me forever or something. She said nothing until we got inside the house; she turned to me.
"Your grandmother told me what is going on. That man was a fool for rejecting you. You're a powerful wolf, honey. Now, if you're really want to go through with this, after I put my spell on the necklace, it will have to stay around your neck so he will not find you. He's determined to find his mate. He won't know it's you. If you want to fall in love in the human way, then keep this around your neck at all times. It's going to take a few hours for the spell to be in the necklace. Do you have time to wait?" Looking at my watch, it was only ten in the morning, so I had to ask her when it would be done so I would know if I would be back in time.
"When will it be done? I have to be back by seven so I can start my second shift of training. I'm not trying to rush, but I want them to know that I'm serious about this. I want to become a strong warrior." She nodded, then thought for a few minutes before she said,
"The necklace won't be done on time, sweetheart, but I'll tell you what – by the time you finish your training tonight, your necklace will be lying on your dresser. No one will be able to see it, but once it's around your neck, it will be visible." Taking the necklace from my neck, I placed it carefully in her hand and then asked her, "Do I owe you anything?"
"No, honey, just come by from time to time to have some tea with me. We can sit outside and talk every now and then. You can tell me about your training and how your liking it. I'm a good listener." I couldn't help but smile at the kind lady; she seemed really nice. I just hope this doesn't go bad.
Laura's point of view:
I had to get to my hotel this morning. The ball is next month, meaning we only had twenty days to go. I was just trying to see if I needed to do anything to keep myself busy. I wasn't sure when that woman was going to come and try to take me, but I was ready for her. I knew I had the gift to see the future and the gift of sight, but it's been wishy-washy. I really don't understand it much. I wanted to learn more, so I've been in the library at the pack house reading a lot. I got to the hotel just in time to see a few people walking inside. I wondered what this was about, so I headed inside. They were at the desk talking to Lucy. I walked up and greeted them, saying, "Hi, I'm Laura. I'm the owner of the hotel. I hope you find things to your liking." They looked me up and down, then turned back to Lucy. I heard the man speak.
“Can you tell me where to find Alpha Jasper? I heard that his mate had woken up. I came a long way to see him. Is there any way you can get a hold of him?” Lucy looked at me, then back at them. She shook her head and stunned them when she said,
“Well sir, the woman you just looked at up and down is My Alpha Jasper's mate. This is her hotel, so you just disrespected his Luna. I could call him so you can explain what you just did, but I think you can talk to his mate instead.” His face turned as white as a ghost, and he slowly turned back around to look at me. Then he said,
“I am truly sorry, Luna Laura. Jasper is my cousin. This here is my mate Olive, and I am Conner. I am truly sorry for the disrespect. If I knew you were Jasper's mate, that would have never happened.” I wanted to laugh, but I didn't. He was talking so fast that he should never disrespect anyone, no matter what their status is. That's what I told him. I nodded and then said,
“Well, welcome to my hotel. Jasper should be here in about ten minutes. I mind-linked him to let him know you're here. But you should never disrespect anyone, no matter what their status is. You never know what they are going through. I'm sure your Alpha wouldn't mind knowing what you just did.” He gulped when I mentioned his Alpha. I didn't know who his Alpha was, but I'm sure I could quickly find out.
“Our Alpha treats everyone with respect. Therefore, I should have never done that. Again, I am sorry.” When he bowed his head, that's when Jasper walked into the lobby. He looked a little confused as to why his cousin was bowing his head toward me. He walked over to us, put his arm around my waist, and then looked over at his cousin and said,
“So, what did you do this time, Conner? You're never going to learn, will you? Last time, you disrespected someone, and you almost got killed. This time, it was my Luna. What brought you here? I hope it's not to start trouble.” I looked over at Lucy. She must have mind-linked Jasper and told him what was going on. She smirked at me; I smirked back. I knew it was her.
