I'll be back, I promise 3

Chapter 3 Jasper's POV We stayed in her room for a few hours. I knew I needed sleep, but I was scared to leave her. What will happen if she wakes up and doesn't see me? My only choice was to sleep in the recliner that was in her room. I knew I dozed off for a few minutes when the doctor walked into the room. Walking over to my mate, he checked her vitals, the IV bag, and her heart monitor because it was beeping. I was waiting until he was done so I could ask why it was beeping like that. Once he was done, he turned and told me, I know you're wondering why it's beeping, and I'm more surprised than anything. She will be waking up soon; don't get too excited, Alpha. Once she's awake, she will be weak. It's been over three years. She might not even remember anything; she might wake up frightened. Why don't you go take a shower and get something to eat? She's not going to wake up right now. I will give it another few days; if anything happens, Alpha Jasper, I will mindlink you. I promise." Sighing, I finally nodded. I knew I needed a shower, maybe just a few minutes of rest, and then get something to eat. So I walked over to her bed, leaning down, then I said, "I'll be back okay; I'm just going to go shower and rest up for a few minutes, then get something to eat. I promise I will be right back." Kissing her softly on the lips, I turned and walked out of the room. I just hope she doesn't wake up before I get back. I want to be the first thing she sees when she opens her beautiful eyes. Returning to the pack house, I went into our room. Her scent was fading, and I miss it so much. I set the alarm for twenty minutes, just twenty, not a minute longer. The cooks already knew to have my dinner ready. Laying in bed, covering up, I held onto her pillow. I had to take a deeper breath just to smell her scent. I drifted off to sleep. Once I was asleep, I didn't hear my sister come into the room to check up on me; she made sure the light was off and then walked back out the door. I was sleeping so well I almost slept through the alarm. I jumped out of bed, and I told her I wouldn't be long. I rushed to shower. While I was showering, I mind-linked my sister, asking her if she could take my dinner to Laura's room; I'll eat there. I have checked on her several times while you were sleeping. She is fine, my brother. Go eat. I'll stay with her until you get here." I was glad she was with her; at least if she did wake up, she would see a friendly face. I hurried to the kitchen, made my plate of grilled chicken and mashed potatoes, and ate like there was no tomorrow. After I was done, I washed my plate. Then I hurried back to the hospital to be with her. Mila was sitting in the chair, reading a book to her. I think it was some kind of romance book or something. When Mila saw me, she smiled, closing the book. "It's a romance book. I was hoping it would wake her up, but no luck. Maybe tomorrow she will wake up." I thought about the meeting I had to go to tomorrow; it's a meeting for a treaty with another alpha. I didn't really want to go. Maybe Mila will go; she is second in command. I was going to ask when she spoke up. Jasper, I know what you're thinking, and no, I won't go. You can't just stay here because your mate is in a coma; you need to get back out there. He's only two hours away. If she wakes up, I will mindlink you and tell you so you can get back. Alpha Creek wants to see you, not me. Go home, get your rest. I will stay here with her. I promise I will not leave her side. I will have the cook bring me my food here. If I shower, I'll shower in her bathroom. Now say your good nights to her and go and get your rest; you're going to need it." I knew she was right. I needed to get back out there. I needed to go and see Alpha Creek; he's another werecat. Leaning over to my mate, I kissed her goodnight. "Mila is going to be here with you for a few days. I have to go to a meeting, okay? I'll be back soon. I love you." I hope she can hear me talking to her. I kissed her soft lips; then I left. I hated it when my sister was right; she would never not let me know anything that I needed to know. She tells me just about anything, even the things I don't want to know. Moon goddess POV It's almost time for Laura to wake up. I need to get her out of there and somewhere away so she can start healing and gaining her powers. I was thinking I could have her house and a job, but it would be too easy for them to find her. It's going to be hard for her at first, but if I made it easy, then it wouldn't mean anything. She needs to gain her powers, and by staying here and everyone babying her and not letting her out of their sight, it's not going to do any good at all. Tomorrow, the moon will be covered with clouds. That's when she will wake up, and the rest will be up to me on how to have her handle it. Once she's away from there, she will be on her own for a while. I will make sure everything happens. Until then, I will see you later, my children.
