Chapter 6

Sarah’s POV

“Wh… what did you say? Who is coming?” I asked the maid, Lana, who is working with me in the kitchen.

She has become a good friend of mine ever since I started working here, in the pack house of Dark Moon Pack.

“ All the Alphas around our pack are coming” she replied, her gaze is fixed on the vegetables she is chopping, that is why she didn’t see the look of horror which covered my face.

I left the dishes I was washing and began walking out of the kitchen.

“Sarah… what happened? Where are you going….. Sarah” I heard Lana's voice call after me but I didn’t stop.

There is only one thing which is going inside me and that is if all the Alphas of other packs are coming, then it means he will be here as well.

My heart dropped at the thought of facing him again and a shiver ran down my spine.

'what if he sees me here?’

The question shook me to my core.

The day I ran away from that pack is still fresh in my mind. His gray orbs and threats are still haunting me in my sleeps.

Even after three years I am still afraid that he will come and take me with him.

I tried to tell myself that he might have forgotten about me. After all it has been three years. Moreover I am not that beautiful that he will look for me for so long.

‘He might have married someone else. Or he might have met his fated mate' I said this to myself again and again.

But still a part of me tells me that he is still searching for me and this thought terrifies me.

I was lost in my thoughts while walking when I bumped into someone and stumbled back a little.

But two hands held my arms to steady me. The touch was gentle and caused goosebumps to appear on my skin for some reason.

I looked up and my heart fluttered for a second when my gaze locked with his forest green ones staring at me.

I don’t know why but I found myself lost in the depth of his orbs and couldn’t look away.

But my trance was broken when a familiar voice called my name from behind,

“Sarah”.

It is as if the green eyed man too realized that he was staring at me as he instantly looked away and left my arms.

I took a step back and turned slightly to find Grayson, my life savior walking towards me.

He is a warrior in the pack and he is the one who had saved my life that day when I had entered in the forbidden Dark Moon Pack.

When I had lost consciousness in his arms three years ago at the border, I had believed that I won’t wake up.

But I did.

He didn’t kill me. Instead he took me to the pack hospital and got me treated. And it is all because of him that I am leading a peaceful life in this pack.

“Is everything okay?” Gray asked me, eyeing the green eyed man.

“Let’s go, we are getting late” I heard someone speak. Only now I realized that the green eyed man is not alone. There is someone else with him.

He nodded his head and went away. I kept staring at his retreating back till I heard Grayson asking, “do you know him?”

I looked into his Hazel eyes and shook my head in no.

“Where were you going in such a hurry?” he asked me.

His question reminded me of the reason why I was scared. Once again panic clouded my mind.

I almost forgot that I need to leave.

“You know there is a meeting and all the Alphas are coming to the pack?” I asked Gray. Panic laced in my voice.

“yes I know, but why are you looking so pale” he asked me. Concern is laced in his voice as he stared at me with soft eyes.

“he.. will also come” I said. I have already told him about my past. I felt it was necessary for me to tell him the truth when he had asked me why I entered in this pack.

I didn’t realize when my breathing turned heavy and sweat buds began forming on my forehead.

I am hyperventilating.

“Relax Sarah, you are breathing too heavily” Gray said rubbing his hand on my back in a soothing way.

“But… I.. I have to.. go” I stuttered and tried to walk away but he stopped me.

“He is not coming” the moment Gray uttered these words, I looked at him in surprise.

“Really?” I asked for confirmation with hopeful eyes.

“Yes my princess. He is not. So don’t be scared and relax” he said tucking some strands of my hairs behind my ear.

A sigh of relief escaped from me and my heart began beating at normal pace.

“He has never entered in our pack in past. Not even for important meetings, so don’t worry, okay?” he again assured me.

His words calmed me even more. He has never came in this pack, that is a good news for me.

Grayson is really caring and protective towards me and I know I can trust him. But still a part of me is still scared.

“But what if he comes today?” I asked.

“He won’t. I don’t know why, I heard that there is a silent cold war between Dark Moon Pack and Red moon pack. I guess you were lucky that out of all the packs around here, you entered in our pack. Where he can never find you” he said.

I processed his words in my mind and relaxed completely.

But only if I knew, luck was not going to be on my side today, I would have definitely ran away to hide myself from his deadly gray eyes.

Travis's POV

Why?

Just why the hell my father is doing this to me, I have no idea.

I have been cursing him since the moment he left from my house yesterday after talking rubbish.

How can he demand something like this from me.

Didn’t he hate me?

Then why?

At first I was a bit scared as well but now all I am feeling is anger.

I am raged.

Just thinking about his words, my jaw clenched and hands balled into fist. Anger is burning my heart and a storm is running inside me.

Despite hating his words, I still found myself standing here, ready to do what he asked me to do.

Everything in me told me to turn around and go back.

But I couldn’t

Because my father's words are still echoing in my ears, clenching my insides tightly,

'be there before two in the afternoon, if you don’t, your friend will take last breath of his life'

This is what he had said. And I have no doubt that he will not hesitate even for a second before going through his threat.

That is why instead of going back, I took a step forward,

Entering in the very place, I ran away from three years ago,

In Dark Moon Pack's territory.

After an hour of drive I reached the pack house.

Alpha Zander had sent someone to pick me up from the border.

I walked inside the big wooden doors and all the memories of past came rushing back to me.

I had spent most of my life here, in this pack house.

I was looking around in the living room, everything seems same as when I had left.

Many thoughts are running in my head and my heart has began racing in my ribcage.

Anger is still burning my insides but now that I have entered in the same pack house where my life turned upside down, fear has began crawling inside me.

I was lost in my thoughts and was not paying attention while walking and bumped into someone.

The moment my eyes locked with the most beautiful blue ones, everything stopped around me.

Her beautiful orbs took my breath away and all the panic, worries and anger flew away and calmness settled inside me.

For some reason I found myself lost in her orbs and never wanted to look away.

But I came out of my trance when someone called her name.

They got indulge in a conversation as I walked away from them. But a part of me felt restless.

I don’t know why?

A weird feeling settled inside me and my heart began aching for unknown reason.

“Wait inside the office, Alpha Zander will be here soon” the man who drove me here said to me.

I shrugged off all the thoughts and entered inside my father’s office.

I took a sit and once again many emotions began swirling inside me.

But this time along with fear and anger, I was feeling restless as well. And it was not because of my father but because of that blue eyed woman I bumped into.

As far as I remember, blue orbs always reminded me of my father but when I saw her eyes, my mind didn’t drifted off to my father.

There was something about her which engraved her in my mind and her innocent mesmerizing orbs are flashing in my mind again and again.

I took a deep breath to calm my rapidly beating heart and tried to avoid this nagging feeling which was telling me continuously that something bad is about to happen.

Well what else can get more worse than the fact that I am sitting in my pack against my will?

I was thinking about what I am going to do now, when door of the office opened and Alpha Zander walked in all his glory.

The smirk plastered on his face made me curl my hands into fist.

“So what is your decision?” he asked while sitting on the sofa, across from me and my jaw clenched tightly.

His smirk grew wider. He knows what my decision is going to be. He has left me with no choice but to agree with him.

His eyes were shining brightly and his relaxed posture and confident aura screamed that he knows very well, he won.

I took a deep breath and began speaking. The words refused to come out but I forced them against my will,

“I accept your condition” I said and took another breath.

“You need to say the words, Son, be more specific about what are you accepting?” he said casually.

My fist tightened even more that my knuckles turned white and nails began digging in my palms.

He is enjoying my state.

I am not getting what he will gain by doing this to me.

He has so many options then why he is forcing me like this.

He raised his brow at my silence and his eyes turned a shade darker. The atmosphere around us turned heavy.

I wasn’t going to comply but I opened my mouth when his wolf's eyes flickered for a second.

I took another deep breath.

Something burned inside me as I uttered the next words which brought a victorious smile on his face and pierced my insides,

“I will become the next Alpha of the pack”.

Only if I knew it wasn’t as easy as I was thinking. At that moment I didn’t know that behind his condition, a very cruel plan was running inside his head.

A plan which might results in destroying me, completely.
