The Alpha's Rejection

1096 Words
I am breathlessly running through a wet tunnel again! This time, my wolf was not connecting with me, no matter how much I called. My slim legs ran as fast as a leopard, as I desperately looked over my shoulders, hoping that they wouldn't catch up with me. They were one of our most feared predators. The Lycans! I finally exited the tunnel into the black forest. I could hear the whistling of the wind as the breeze swept harshly against my ears. Their large feet pounding seemed to be getting nearer. I couldn't stop but had no choice when my feet got tangled in a vine and I stumbled to the floor. I desperately tried to break free, but to no avail. The loud grunting and crackling of the dry leaves made my heart leap from my chest as I hopelessly tugged at the vine harder, hoping to break free. Then there they were, surrounding me. They were the most hideous creatures I have ever seen. They were as big as a bear with mostly vampire features, pointed ear, long blond hair, blood red eyes, smooth fair faces, but the rest of their bodies were covered in fur. Their ability to shape-shift made them feared as they had the speed of a lighting bolt even when shifted. I was mortified as one reached to grab me. I screamed out in terror! Dripping with sweat, I scrambled awake, thanking God it was just a dream I touched myself to make sure everything was in place. It's the third time that I have dreamed of our enemy. Is it a sign from the Gods that something big is coming? I quickly sat up and dragged my naked body to the base of a huge tree trunk, hoping for protection from the darkness. I touched my necklace as I tried to talk to Leah to see if she was Ok, but she was not responding. I probably pushed her too hard on her first day. I sighed in frustration. I can't remember much besides, Emma is now chosen to be the mate of the man I love. Dawn was already dusting in with light gray skies that peeped through the black dancing leaves and a few stars saying goodbye. I sprung to my legs. I must get home. Luckily, I noticed my trail marks on the trees. Which means I was here before. Which also meant that I was not too deep in the forest. My clothes were nowhere in sight, I had to hurry before the day cleared. Leah was not responding, so on foot, I scurried through the forest. I honestly didn't feel like returning to a place that my heart kept rejecting to call home, but I didn't have much of a choice anyway. I exited the forest to an empty lot of land. The party was all over, everyone had already left the Pack's Podium. Which had me wondering how long I was out for. Luckily our house was not to far away, so I continued my journey, trying to remain in the shadows to avoid being seen butt naked. I slid through the back door of our mansion that was left unlocked. I could hear Mother's voice ordering the maids to get her bath ready as she nagged the living daylight out of them. Too annoyed to even hear her voice, I quietly dashed my naked body up the staircase and into my room, gently closing the door behind me. I could see the beam of daylight already peeping through my curtains. I could scent Blake all over my room. It must have been his T-shirt that he forgot. I gently pulled it over my body hoping his scent would hold me and comfort my grief. "Meghan," said a low voice. I jumped in fear. "Collyn! OMG, what are you doing here! You scare the sh*ttt out of me!" I hugged him and kissed his face like a puppy forgeting I was angry at him, but he kept turning his face away. "I just wanted to talk with you. I know you are hurt right now, but I need you to understand that we need to keep what we had a secret. If the Moon Goddess knows that I chose to mate before my Luna was chosen It will cause unwanted conflict. It will tarnish both of our reputations. I am begging you, please just let me love Emma in peace!" His request shattered me to pieces. "So you think it's OK to love me in the darkness and reject me in the light of day! After all that we had, I gave you everything! My heart, my body, my time. Here I am still hoping that you will make an effort to pledge your love for me to the Moon Goddess so we can be together. But instead you choose Emma over me." I argued underneath my breath so that no one hears us. "Meghan, you will never be considered Luna with Emma being our only Silver Wolf and I will not give up Alpha status to my younger brother Gabriel just for the sake of love. This leaves no choice but for us to pave different parts! I need you to understand." For some reason that pill was hard to swallow. "Collyn, do you love me or have you ever actually loved me!?" His silence answered my question, although I would have preferred to hear the words coming out of his mouth, he couldn't say anything but bowed his head in shame. I think I heard his heart loud and clear. His eyes were so empty it was like I couldn't even see my own reflection. "Please get out of my room before I scream and tell everyone that you raped me. Get out!" I screamed with my face more than my voice to avoid raising an alarm. He definitely heard me loud and clear as he jumped through the opened window without hesitation. I could have felt his disappointment with my response, but I couldn't give a f*ck. I quickly shut my windows and closed my blinds. Holding my heart, that felt as if it was about to fall out of my chest. I laid on my bed shutting my eyes tight, hoping to stifle my pain and anger into a deep sleep, but yet the memories of Collyn's happiness with my sister being his Luna kept replaying and replaying, again and again. After a few minutes, the war of sleep and heartbreak was over and everything suddenly went blank.
