Chapter 12

Jake's POV

I witnessed how Tae was torn and the feelings overwhelming me. I tried so hard to always protect her even if she's one of the strongest wolves out there. Seeing how her face fell when that stupid mutt Axel kicked her out, again. Tae left with Eden, Luke, Gabriel, and Tyler. All these years and she stayed so strong. No wonder she was ecstatic to leave and be as far as possible from this place, it all makes sense now. How he was so protective when she got injured, even though this is all his fault.

"I'm leaving with Tae; I cannot stay here under him. If I do, Axel will end up dead or I will." I stated. My mom gasped.

"I can't. I cannot go through this again." My mother whispered. My father hugged her, and she immediately whimpered with her eyes closed. What is she talking about?

"What do you mean, mother?" I questioned. My mother face filled with worry.

"Nothing, Jake, she means losing your sister just now." My father quickly uttered. I stared at him a little longer before he spoke. "Okay, well I think we've all have come to the agreement that we are leaving." Diesel's face was uncertain. He had no allegiance to this family or Eden his allegiance was with Axel.

"I'll be going with you all as much as it pains me leaving the pack, I have nothing holding me back." He murmured the last part. It is true his parents were slaughtered when he was a teenager. We all packed our stuff tossing it into our cars. My mother and father stood outside their home staring at it sorrowfully. It had been their house for so many years and they have many memories. Everyone felt defeated knowing they can't do anything and how blind we were to Tae's feelings and rejection. We all got into our cars heading to our new journey leaving behind our old life.

Tae's POV

I sat at the little diner outside the border waiting for a text or call. Eden was next to me and the other boys across from us. I glanced at them, and I can't help the chuckle escaping my mouth. They all stare at me. I haven't said a word since we left my parent's home and here, I am chuckling. They're going to think I've gone crazy. They all had a raised eyebrow staring intently at me. "Are you okay?" Eden asked, placing a kiss on my temple. I sigh. Why couldn't he had been my mate since the beginning.

"Yes, its just its funny to see three grown buff men seating on one small bench." I laughed this time. Eden looked at Tyler, Gabriel, and Luke letting out a laugh himself. "They do look hilarious. I think we should have gone with the table instead of the booth." Eden chuckled some more trying to cover it up with a fake cough.

"You think?" Tyler glared at him.

"Well, at least you said something or did something." Gabriel sigh. It seemed like he felt relieved. I was staring at him when my phone went off. I looked down at the screen and it was Jake. He had sent me a message. 'We are on our way.' I tapped on the message. 'What do you mean by we?' I hit send.

"What happened?" Eden asked. I was about to answer when I got another reply. 'Everyone, including Diesel.' I smiled. I felt relieved but at the same miserable because I was the reason why they must leave the pack. 'Waiting at the little diner outside the border near the humans.' I replied.

"They're on their way." I uttered. "Everyone." I continued before anyone had a chance to say something. "I know its more than what you bargained for however I'm thankful that you are taking my family as well." I looked around at the little diner, I had been her countless time before. It was a small diner with old pictures before humans began moving near it. Beautiful sceneries. There was an old lady at the counter speaking to a younger version of her. Could be her daughter or granddaughter.

"Listen to me, love. It's no bother for me. I will take them gladly especially if it makes you happy." Eden stated, lifting my chin with his fingers staring at me with his gorgeous eyes.

"Get a room." Luke teased.

"We will once we get to the pack house." Eden retorted. I felt my cheeks reddened. The young waitress came over to our table.

"Do you need anything else?" She asked, winking at Eden. I felt all the anger that Ava felt. This b***h was flirting with our mate. I wanted to murder her. I noticed Gabriel staring at me in shock while the rest were amused staring at the girl. I turned the other way and I let out a growl. Eden rested his hand on my thigh. My breathing hitched. My hands in a fist. What's happening to me? I couldn't control it.

"No, leave." Eden sneered. He pulled me closer to him and Ava began to inhale his scent and she relaxed instantly. What the hell was that.

"Umm, Tae, are you okay?" Gabriel stuttered. "Your eyes." He mumbled. I nodded.

"I don't know what happened." I declared. "Ava wasn't handling that quite right." I continued.

"It's probably all the heartache she went through she thought she was going to experience it again." Tyler added. I felt my heartbeat easing down.

"She took over for a minute; then she let me take over again. I had never felt that before not even with Axel." I closed my eyes letting out a breath.

"Is that why your eyes changed color?" Gabriel asked. What is he talking about? He keeps bringing up my eyes. Everyone was staring at me.

"I don't know what you are talking about?" I responded. "I've never been told my eyes change color." I tried to remember if anyone has ever said something.

"Maybe you imagined it." Tyler added.

"No, her eyes turned white before she turned away." Gabriel stuttered. White? What is he talking about? Why would my eyes be white?

"That can't be." Eden hissed. "The only wolf that has white eyes is the powerful wolf assigned by the Moon Goddess." He continued. I was in shock. "We wont talk about this until we get further information." Eden kissed my knuckles. We noticed that everyone had arrived at the little diner, so we went outside while Tyler paid for our meals.

"Mom, dad, guys, I'm so sorry you all had to leave your life behind." I felt the tears gliding down my face. Eden hugged me tighter.

"Baby, you don't have to be sorry, its that pup that has to be sorry." My father retorted. I could tell that he was melancholic having to leave his home. I sigh.

"Alright, we should head out because we have a 6-hour drive." Eden stated. Everyone nodded. Adanelly got in my parents SUV a long with them. Jadiel and Nicole got in his car. Jake got in his Jeep, and I felt bad that he was going to be by himself. Until Gabriel offered to go with him. I gave him a small smile. Eden opened my door helping me in. He also got in the back with me. Luke and Tyler were in the front Tyler being the driver. We began the 6-hour drive with us leading the way. I was sad leaving my truck behind; however, it was for the best, a new beginning, I sigh.

"You're not going to kill us before we get there, right?" I asked Tyler. His driving was horrible.

"Stop whining." Tyler retorted. Eden rolled his eyes. I've been bantering with Tyler back and forth for the past 3 hours. Eventually, I got sleepy laying my head on Eden's lap. It didn't take long before darkness took over; I hadn't noticed how mentally tired I was. I felt the bond to the pack severed and I couldn't feel anyone from the pack in my head anymore. It was relieving not having that constant reminder that Axel rejected me and his constant nagging to be his mistress.

Eventually we made it to Eden's pack and there was an older version of Eden and beautiful woman standing near the entrance to the pack house. I was amazed. The pack house was more like an enormous castle. The vehicle came to a stop in front of the walkway to the door. Eden opened his door stepping out and extending his hand so I could hold on to it. He smoothly helped me out while also alleviating my nerves.

"Oh, honey, is this her?" The beautiful woman asked, holding on to my hands. Eden nodded. "She's so beautiful." She exclaimed as she gave me a tight hug.

"Alright, mother don't overwhelm her." Eden chuckled.

"Son, I'm so delighted that you found your mate." The older version of Eden stated. "You can't blame your mother; she never had a daughter and now she will." Eden's father grinned. They seemed so nice.

"Father, mother, this is Taelyn, my mate." Eden smiled. "Tae, this is my mother Emma and my father Stephen." Eden gave my hand a small squeeze.

"Nice, to meet you, you have amazing son's even if Tyler tried to kill us." I giggled. Tyler scoffed.

"Tyler, were you driving?" Emma inquired raising an eyebrow. "You know you're a menace to others." She stated holding back her smile. I laughed.

"Very funny." Tyler retorted.

"Taelyn's family is moving with us." Eden informed his parents as we saw them nearing the pack house. They had stopped to get something to eat.

"Of course, your brother made sure to fill us in." Stephan acknowledged. They didn't seem displeased with the news.

"Thank you, again." I mumbled.

"Oh, honey you don't have to be sorry, you are the Luna of this pack now and you have as much say as Eden." Emma declared. I gave her a small smile. Everyone got out of their cars and approached us. "Welcome, everyone, my name is Emma, I'm Eden's mother and this is my husband, Stephan." She gave everyone a warm smile.

"This is Vanessa and Max, Taelyn's parents." Eden pointed at my mom and dad. They gave them a small nod. "That's Jadiel, Tae's older brother, and his mate Nicole as well as Tae's best friend." Jadiel bow his head.

"Oh no sweetheart that's for the Luna and Alpha and we're not none of those." Emma shook her head.

"Next is Jake, Tae's twin brother." Jake gave Emma his signature smile making her chuckle. "Adanelly is her little sister." She gave a small wave. "And finally, Diesel, the ex-head warrior but also Jake's and Taelyn's really good friend." Eden pointed at Diesel.

"Technically, there are no more pack members in that pack, is what you are saying." Emma joked, making everyone laugh. "Alright let's head inside to get you all settled in. You all must be tired." She continued. We all walked in. Eden kept his hand on my lower back.

"Elena, please show everyone to their room." Eden instructed a middle-aged woman and she nodded asking everyone to follow her. "Alright, we will be retreating to our room, Tae needs some rest." Eden stated.

"Of course." Emma wiggled her eyebrows. I felt my face blush. Eden shook his head while Stephan chuckled. Eden guided me to the top floor where his-our room is. I gasped as we walked in. The room alone was like 3 of mine. There was a big bathroom attached to the room and an enormous walk-in closet situated past a glass sliding door. Eden shocked me by throwing me over his shoulder and striding to the bathroom. He slid me down his gorgeous body. He had an amazing walk-in shower. Eden began undressing me guiding me to the shower. Once he was undressed, he stepped in and gave my forehead a soft kiss. I melted into his arms. My back was against his chest, and he began leaving small kisses down my neck, shoulders, and back. "I can't get enough of you." Eden muttered. "You are so mouthwatering." He chuckled. What am I a piece of steak? I rolled my eyes, which I couldn't keep open any longer. "Get some rest honey." He whispered in my ear. He did not have to tell me twice. In a second I gave in to my heavenly darkness.
